The one thing I don't think we will be seeing is a card numbered to 2900 what a disappointment no lupin Jacket equivilent to stamp on with annoyance

what is good to see is the first 2 cards pulled are numbered at less than 500

well last time i spent 16 hours opening 33 cases so not too bad just 20 minutes to open scan and post the pics

your doing well anna but we are all jeolous and are willing you to work faster

but you should take your time and enjoy it cause when we get ours you will be all done.

Anna likes to take her time opening each box so she can enjoy all of the cards as she goes along.  Still, at least we know we'll be seeing more this afternoon!

After opening 3 boxes I finally was able to complete a chase set

The Filch Coat is as thick as a Grimm Fur card.  The Library Book is the same thickness as a regular costume card.

So the Filmcards are now limited to 397. Interesting.  ::)

The cards look sharp, even in the scans.  The chase set is really nice, too.  But, the filmcards are going to be even more difficult to collect! :-\

yes to complete a filmcell set will be VERY hard

So, if the original make up of a case is correct, after three boxes she has two costume cards, a prop card, and a film card, which leaves seven boxes to get three more costume cards, four more prop cards, two more film cards, and five auto cards. If the original reports of a case make up are indeed correct.  :-\

I received my cases too. Good news is the shrink wrap has the ARTBOX logo scattered all over it.
That will prevent cherry picking and re-shrinkwrapping the boxes.  ;D

THis is exciting!!!!  It looks like many of the props and costumes (and even film frames) are much lower numbered cards than the update, which should be great for the set.  I just can't wait to get my cases, and case incentive cards :)

These have been drop shipped straight to her from Artbox, I'd imagine the incentives have gone in a package to her dealer and she'll get them in a few days - assuming she's not keeping them secret!

Cool info -that's a MADLY thick card, but why's it a Prop card and not a "creature card" - it seems odd to start that and then stop :(

No, they are doing a grand job. No case breakdowns necessary yet because it's not a complete case yet!

Yes, they are doing a great job, this is just nerve racking to sit here and refresh over and over again!!!  Too bad we don't just have a live webcam set up that we could all witness the first boxes being cracked opened, then I could just sit back with some popcorn :)

In case you are wondering about box placement in the cases, they are not in 1 -2 -3 order.
My case has box numbers 0277, 4123, 2508, 1235, 1823, 6713, 1913, 2788, 7840, and 0136.

It looks as if the cases are randomly packed, which I take as a good omen for getting a variety of cards.

I'm surprised, but i think, that's good news, you are right.  :)

well the picture used is from the mirror of erised so they were a reflection type image the only other image really of the was in the photo hagrid gave harry although you do see lilly in the flash back when Voldemort turns up

... someone really needs to pull a Hagrid costume by the time the Aussies wake up or McG is going to kill us!

Yes, and it took till the box four to find the R3 and R5 chase card. They seem to be rare as in the other sets.
So it took 4 boxes to get all nine R cards

I wake up and find a thread with 10 pages! :o Thanks Anna and John for being able to stop and post as they go. Great variants you've had there! I think that these cards are the best looking ons yet. I particularly like the film cards. I think the only ones I would have preferred with the PoA sets would have been the autograph cards. But the rest... :-*

And its great to see that the insert ratio is MUCH better this time. And the numbering of cards. In fact the only bad thing is that we haven't got our boxes yet :P

I saw you were online, and I knew you were going to say that.  It must be pretty low # or you think they would have already got it, but he is a big guy so you with think it would be fairly high #'d????   I doubt Anna or LickOrish are sleeping as I think they are both on the West Coast US and it is only 6pm here.  And who could really sleep with all those cases around.  I know I will open my three the day I get them and it will probably take me 2 hrs as I don't look at the base cards til after I get...... the precioussesss

4 of the cards are Monster Book Thick

So far, we haven't seen too many of the cards featured on the announcement sheets from Artbox:  Harry's Quidditch sweater, Draco/Slytherin scarf, Harry's pjs, Oliver Wood's sweater, Hagrid's shirt, and the Sorcerer's Stone.

I do not see any cards from this set on  :ebay: yet, is it possible that Anna and LRSPDR are one of the VERY few to have the cards yet.  There are also no breakdowns on another board I will not mention by name.

I actually like the harry quidditch, I know another quidditch but it is apparently thicker, and I love the look of it.

But my fave so far is the hogwarts invitation letter, only 140, that is a bummer though cause it is unlikely that I will get it  ::)

Edit: I must say lor-spider, you are certainly getting some nice cards, and the ratios per case seem good, a lot of the time you seem to be getting two inserts per box!  :D

Mainly two inserts per box. Two out of 9 have had only one insert.

I was looking at the Price Guide

Anna has 5 autos and I had 5 autos. Between the two of us there are 8 different so far.
I notice that the three FilmCards are different as well. Plus a few different props and costumes.

I think the set will be a winner.

Roz, great job on the Price Guide. You should be able to keep busy next time you work on it.

Its actually quite exciting that there may be some cards that Artbox has not told us about that neither Anna nor John have pulled yet - I am very excited at the possibilities ;D

Yes it's thick like Ron's sweater.

So far the thick costume cards are Oliver Wood's Sweater, Argus Filch's Coat and the Gryffindor Students Sweater.

Thie thick props are the Practice Broom (same thickness as the sweaters) and Fluffy's Fur which is 9/16" thick.

I'm taking a dinner break while I'm typing this.  I'll post more box breakdowns shortly.

well i would expect with a print run of 800 cases that we will not see any cards now higher than Wand Box - limited to 842 cause you would expect to see that at lease once per caseso anything above that should have definately shown up by now

well we know there are 9 film cards and they are numbered to 397 each

but if there are 3 per case then there are only approx 266 of each one inserted into the cases

800 cases x 3 inserts / 9 film cards = 266.6r

After the number of damaged cards last time through packing they must be holding a lot of cards in reserve just in case

Just my opinion but i think there will be a lot of people who will be annoyed they didn't buy cases of this one. I might have a few spare cases to sell but I doubt it I may have to open them all ;)

i wish now that i had brought more than 2 boxes but there you go

I can understand better than most why people would not buy this one as i did loose quite a bit on the last set but I am glad I ordered it

It looks more like glass than plastic but it's hard to tell with the plastic cover. :-\  It could even be a piece of polished stone.  The piece is not flat, it's rounded in the center and that part touches the plastic cover.

Well, there should be some more (probably) rarer props, i saw in an article. Wasn't it a class schedule and/or a floorplan?  ???  ::)

You should try to pull the stone out of this plastic, to see which material it's made of.  ;D

Ahh yes they did have those materials didn't they... let's hope they used them :) although as you point out they will probably be fairly rare as they didn't look too big.

We still need to know, which extremely rare prop card will be found in boxes, if the rumours have been right. Maybe one of those.  ::)

At first i would like to see the devils snare card

I got the impression that it was the Golden 9 3/4 ticket that was supposed to be the "really rare" in pack card, but then it was finished too late to go into the packs... This is just a suspicion, and I am very much hoping I am wrong.

I hope, John has much time for opening his cases today and we'll get some more answers to our questions.  ::)

This card was ....Patience now... I'm getting to it, in the second box. It comes in it's own special brown envelope cross-wise on top of the normal packets. The card is a whopping 1/4 inch (.7 cm) thick.

I'd like to point out here that Jo isn't a professional cherry picker, she just likes to know that she has a good chance on things in the boxes she opens!

I was making a general enquiry about the 'pickability' of these cards given that it was possible to cherry pick the hotboxes from the PoA set

Speaking of cherry picking, you reminded me to post that the Fluffy's Fur card is in a pack all on its own.  When you pick up the pack and touch the top of it, you can tell right away what's in the pack because there's no card covering the swatch hole.  The swatch is very pillowy (is this a word?), so your finger just pokes into it.

I wish I didn't have yard work to do.  If I could sit here in front of the computer all day I would!  Good luck on your next boxes, Anna.  I'll be checking in throughout the day! :-*

Just got in from work. The board has gone berserk!! Good job by all the guys that have opened and posted cards. Thanks for all the info! Looks like this set is a winner. Artbox are back on form. Upped my cases from 2 to 3 with excitement( the commissioner will have to pay me more overtime!). After the disappointment of update, card collecting is back at its best!

After looking at all of the scans, it's safe to say that Arbox has put together one heck of a set.  I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get all of the cards I want, but it'll be fun trying!  The best part is that there haven't been a ton of repeat cards, yet people who have several cases will probably come close to a pack-pulled master set.  My boxes can't get here soon enough!

Between Anna and John, we have some beautiful scans of the cards in this thread and the price guide.  Who needs the Artbox website? ;D

I wonder with the boxes numbered if there is any kind of sequence to determine what is in the box, we need a math wiz to jump right on that.

I am actually glad I don't have my cases, because I would have had to call in sick to work.  I hope they come Friday so I can get through a couple of hours of work and then take care of the preciousssesss.

I actually like that autograph, I was skeptical of that one, but I like it......I want it!! :)  I agree, the cases need to show up Friday afternoon, so I can just relax over the weekend and crack them open at my leisure, most likely pull an all nighter with my patience level

I think this set has BY FAR the best prop cards (as a whole) that the previous two sets, the autographs are good, but its hard to compete with having Harry, Hermione, Ron, triple, double all in one set in the autograph area, but I am excited about John Cleese and some of the others in this set, but my feeling right now is that this set is going to be hot, as these cases are fun to open and people will be crackign them open like crazy!!!

The priceguide looks amazing!!!  I am just excited to see some auctions show up, to see what these cards will do.  With so many lower numbered cards it should be interesting to see what they all go for!!!

I agree, other than the rediculously hard to get case incentives, this set is a feasible set to put together by opening a few cases, I like that!!!

Cosidering the number of nice Autos and the DEVL'S SNARE, I'm not miffed about only 4 Auto cards.

It seems most cases are getting 4-5 autos on average, which is still pretty good.  But a Devil's Snare!!!  What a nice pull.  I would say that is better than the extra auto any day!!

If Fluffy is the same size as the Devil's Snare, then why does Fluffy not get his own brown envelope?

I would be happy to get four auto's in any of my cases after Update.  You were lucky if you got two.  And I even had a case with no autos.

Definately a better set.  And it is great that most cases are getting around 5 costumes and 5 props as update seemed to be about 7-8 costumes and 2-3 props.  Of course I like the props better and hate costume cards #'d over 1100 so I am really excited about this set.

There are a lot of great prop cards.  Between my total of 6 boxes from the first two sets, I only pulled one prop (Dervish and Banges) so I hope with my 4 boxes that I get to pull another prop.  Preferabbly a really good one.

Has anyone considered that the success of this set might be in some small way down to the Yak Shack?  Who knows maybe someone from Artbox read the posts and realised they needed to do better.  Then there was the petition.  Just a thought that maybe someone really is watching us  ::)

I can't find my latest nonsportupdate mag, but they print out the expected releases and month of projected in the back of the mag.  I think if I remember correctly they Artbox is going to do GOF next and then I think they are going to go back and do COS.  If I find the mag I will confirm.  I think GOF is listed as Nov or Dec release at this point.

Also I believe they said it is a little more of a challenge to come up with movie items for the ones that have been done years ago.  Basically I don't think they are even considering doing an update set for SS.

I found the Fluffy Fur Prop 700-700, a Hagrid with Christmas Tree FilmCard, a Lily Auto and a Neville Auto in addition to the two pix I just posted.

Averaging 2 inserts a box for this case!  :o  Great pull with the Fluffy 700 as well :)Nice work - you certainly have have the magic touch!

I was wondering, Why doesn't Artbox list all of the Premium cards on a second Checklist?
Upon second thought, though I am glad they don't...It would spoil the fun of discovery and

Yes you can get these at any hobby shop that knows anything about nonsportcards.  Certainly some will get more than others.  My local shop guy gets whatever he is asked to get preorder and then will usually get some for himself to open if he collects the set (he is doing HP sets).  Usually he will get every release of any nonsport that comes out, but only brings in usually a couple boxes or a case or so.

Phone book is best, it is hard to run a hobby shop and make money, so they are becoming more scarce all the time.  Many have closed shop because of the ability to get things from ebay or internet dealers and they have a hard time being competive with prices.

And to be honest most nonsport collectors tend to be younger people without the disposable income that many sports card collectors have.

I am really happy that the daily prophet is one of the highest #'d props.  That has been one of my fav props, but usually pretty hard to get.  They can make really great variants.

The one in the Price Guide is the first one I found. if you look at the swatch in it at about the 1 o'clock  position you will see a yellow fleck of color.
Now you know where it comes from. I hope to get one of these that is half burgundy and half yellow.  :o dreams are free.

I've looked at the results of 50 boxes opened by Anna and John.  Here's the breakdown:

22 boxes with an auto and a prop
14 boxes with a costume and a filmcard
2 boxes with a costume and a prop
1 box with an auto and a filmcard
9 boxes with one costume only
2 boxes with one prop only

There were no boxes that contained an auto and a costume, no boxes with only one auto, and no dud boxes.  Of 50 boxes, 39 had two inserts.  Artbox has done a good job of fixing their collation problems!

So if i find an Auto, i'll find another insert, probably a Prop.  8)

I think it's very encouraging, especially for people who buy only a box or two.  The odds are good for getting two inserts in a box.  That definitely makes the cost of the box a bit easier to take!

The rumour mill has been groaning into action again today, and there's reports of a new costume that will not be inserted into packs.

"there will be one card not inserted into the boxes, and it's called "the NY costume card" which a dist got for ordering their cases at the New York toy fair in February.

It definitely looks like Wand Boxes are variant rich. I have 3 distinct colours out of 4. And two different textures. The material looks like simulated leather, quite durable in appearance. :o

Roz put the the new picture of the Wizard Candy in the price guide. I realized that every card that I wanted from the first set is in this set. I want a Bon-Bon and Spiders card, there they are, I wanted the Chocolate Frog Box, there it is.

Mike, what's neat about it is they are in low numbers but not so low as to be impossible and still different enough from the other set that they are both worth collecting for the difference. Thank goodness they are not re-makes ala Rare UK robes of 100 of a previous issue.

I'm really happy, overly happy, that they used these. Then again, they did use these in the film. I think I saw them on the Snack Trolly :-\ not really sure.

Nice card. Notice how the yellow stripe is wide on this set while in the POA set it was narrow.

It amazes me that you got your cases so fast.  Aren't you in Illinios.  I can see Anna's as she is in So Cal where Artbox is.  I would have thought other members like Zach would have gotten theirs by now based on how close they are to Artbox.  Zach if your out there were you having yours dropshipped?

And based on the cards you are getting i would keep going, you must always ride a hotstreak.

My cases left CA earlier because they were part of a massive order to the East coast.

I'm in Northern Cal so I know, but as they were shipped out in waves I would have expected to be last or same time as most everyone else.  That is why I am suprised they made it to ILL so fast, unless they shipped midwest with the east coast.  That would seem more likely.

So, UPS came today! ;D That is, they came to the mailboxes of my apartment building... :-\ and not to my apartment door...  ??? and just left a note on the mailboxes saying they tried to delevier my box to me! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! Hulk smash UPS! So I'm trying to get it sussed out so that they will come back and actual give me my SS case rather then just tacking a note to the mailbox and not even trying to deliever it.  >:() *sigh*  >:(  :'( Hopefully I will get it so I can get them tonight. Oh well, speaking of the Hulk, at least I got a Hulk DVD cover signed by Nick Nolte today. It's no SS case, but it will have to do until UPS gets their act together.

Did you call and complain/  That is just awful!!!!  Is UPS near you?  If so, you can call them and set up an appointment to go over there before 7 pm and pick it up.  I had to do that before.

UPS is the next town over, and I don't, much to my chagrine  >:() have the means to go over there, so them coming here is the only way I can get my box. The center over there is suppose to call me sometime in the next hour, as I called the UPS 1-800 number and they said they were sending the center a message to call me. Hopefully they don't mess that easy task up.  >:()  >:()  >:()   :'( It's one of those tragedies were you just want to break down, cry, and drown your sorry in country music...the music of pain. Dissapointed with it over all, to be honest (despite a steller John Hurt auto card); any case were three of your prop cards are Restricted Section Book cards, one in place of a costume card, isn't very well sorted. If you put a couple of the restricted section cards up on ebay asap they might sell for a good price cause you got your case pretty quick. Then you will be able to buy other cards that you wanted by selling the extras....

I we all need to certainly realize that LKRSPD has had some really good cases....really good.  Certainly to get a case with 2 or 3 props #'d under 200 is pretty lucky.  As someone pointed out before most of these low #'d prop cards should be showing up about every 7 or 8 cases.  I think you did get the shaft a little with three of the restricted section cards so I can feel for you one that one.  And I am sure it would have felt better if you had pulled a prop or costume under 300.  Do you remember what the boxes were #'d that you pulled the 3 from?

Anyway I'm sorry to hear it wasn't the greatest case.

Sounds good to me. It wasn't just the fact that I got three restricted section book cards that I'm mad about, because going inot this I actually wanted ONE RSB card, It's just that the third one was in there in place of the fifth costume card I should have got, and considering that the costume cards I did get were the blandest of the entire set, pretty much, it would have been nice to have the fifth CC. Someone asked what # boxes the RSB cards came from: 7178/8000, 3303/8000, & 6625/8000. And well the practice broom card is kinda neat in theory, I can't help, what with everything else I got  :'(, to look at it and just think, "Hm...it's a hunk of wood."

Hey Darth, were there any variants in the RSB cards or were they all the ecact same? I just wonder, with a library full of books you'd think the cards would have plenty of variation in the swatches?

The closest to a variation in any of them is colour, really. 2 red plastileather (plastic masquarading as leather it looks like  :P) and one dark blueish one.

I opened a couple cases, and I was much happier with this product than update.  I have pulled most of the costumes and most of the auto's, but have been a little "unlucky" I guess is the word I will use.  If you take the Sorc. Stone prop and all others #'d lower than that (that can be pack pulled)there are over 900 cards.  If they did a good job collating (ya right) they would fall a little better than 1 per case.  I opened 3 cases and got NONE >:().  And as props cards are more my collecting interest that bugs me a little.  I think even 1 of the 6 I would feel better about, but none sucks.

I shall keep trying.  Oh and of course since the wand box should fall about 1 a case could I come up short on those :o=, no of course not, 1 in each case.  I will reserve complete judgement for now, but if I don't get any of them (the low #'d props) with the rest I open I am going to be PO'd.  I would say I don't have much of a chance to pack pull all of them now.

oh wow no props yet, that is actually a bit strange beckham1. Looking a Anna and l-o-r spider's pulls, they seemed to get a pretty even number of autos, costumes, and props  ??? me confused. I hope you have a bit more luck, how many more have u got to open?

No I did get prop cards, but just none of the lower #'d ones.  Of course I don't expect them to be easy to pull, but I usually expect the odds to play out somewhat.  And with the rare props #265 or less they should avg just over 1 per case.  So 3 cases and none of them was disappointing.

Becks, have you posted a case breakdown somewhere? It would be interesting if you could :D

kbmum i have the exact opposit tie card. It's red on top and yellow on the bottom and the crease is out instead of in. Wow, we are all getting some nice cards.

Which candy is the red and black swatch?

I think it's the Bertie Bott's" it looks like it is part of the same paper as the "Cute Face" that I was lucky enough to have pulled.

Since single boxes have started hitting the UK they can't be far off from Aus. And the cases might start landing in the UK too, not to mention the large Cards Inc shipment which is expected to be delivered half today and half tomorrow (not sure if that's come off - that was just what they were expecting).
