: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : grecopa May 03, 2005, 10:42:27 PM I'm not convinced the hairball is real either, but the winning bidder is probably convinced. We have some CRAAAAZY elvis fans over here in the US! ::)
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 03, 2005, 10:59:34 PM I'm not convinced the hairball is real either, but the winning bidder is probably convinced. We have some CRAAAAZY elvis fans over here in the US! ::) My moms one of them but she wouldnt buy a fur ball when I'm sure if she wasnt mad at Sabrina then she could take the time and see what masterpiece she cought up :P : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : saruman May 03, 2005, 11:43:28 PM OMG i didn't even look at the price.who in gods name would paym that much for that!
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 03, 2005, 11:50:05 PM I sure wouldnt when I see something like that every month :P
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : saruman May 03, 2005, 11:56:13 PM LOL thankfully i have never seen my cat cough up a hair ball.i hiope she does it somewhere though as dpn't they die if they don't or something?
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 12:04:26 AM I've never heard of one dying. My cat sometimes goes without a hair ball for half a year then sometimes she coughs them up three or four times a month. It depends on how the cat eats. If they eat diet stuff they sometimes dont have one for a year but if they eat *as I say it* heathy and eat those with the nuggets and stuff then they might have then about 15 to 20 times a year. Its shows that the cat is heathy and trying to deposit things from its body even if you wish they wouldnt :P
Oh, and if you want to reduce your cats hair-balls they make their favorite food now coated with hair-ball reducer solution to keep them eating and reducing those nasty, slimy, warm, smelly hair-balls ;D : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Anna May 04, 2005, 12:20:07 AM I don't think it's real either. The hair looks too artistically placed. ;) How would you package this to ship to the buyer? ???
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 12:24:07 AM He did say he let it dry ???
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : saruman May 04, 2005, 12:51:08 AM maybe with the cat ;)
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 12:51:56 AM Ahhh poor thing :(
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Nienna May 04, 2005, 12:59:23 AM YEK!! Dirty so-and-so should've consigned that heap of mess straight to the bin!! Fancy selling it *looks scandalised* ... and fancy BUYING it!! :o YUK! :-X
I must admit it was a pretty impressive amount of fur on that auction and I feel desperately sorry for the cat fetching back all that. :-[ I'm not too sure whether cat's can die from furballs Saruman, but they get very uncomfortable and don't eat or drink much when their innards are all bunged up with fur. The vets usually give them some oily substance so the fur passes through rather than coming up, but it can certainly be a very serious problem if your cat has long hair and is grooming themselves a lot. One of my three cats regularly 'hoiked-up' and it got to be second-nature to look where you were treading in the morning when you came downstairs! ::) :P I only have the fluffy black cat now and thankfully she's not too bad ... provided I groom her regularly of course! In fact, I try to groom her at least once a day which she doesn't care for much, but she needs it as her coat is very dense at the moment and she's washing herself quite a bit. It won't stop the furballs altogether but it will lessen the amount she swallows. ;) As for that flipping revolting auction, all I can say is ... 'a fool and his money are soon parted' ... ;) : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 01:04:58 AM I have a Russin Blue cat and she has very silky short hair so Its ok for her to groom herself. She doesnt throw up one often and when she does its not that big
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Nienna May 04, 2005, 01:35:15 AM You're lucky then Mike. ;)
The cat I mentioned was short-haired so I've no idea how the heck she could produce sooo many furballs! :o Practice I suppose ... ::) It's getting to the worst season for them too ... warmer weather (hopefully), moulting fur and *dare I say it* ... fleas .... not a good combination :-\ : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 01:37:54 AM I'm hate flea season but my cats a house cat so she doesnt get fleas at all sometime but we have emergency flea medican just in case ;D
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Nienna May 04, 2005, 01:43:52 AM Mine's an indoor cat too but she still gets fleas! :o
I'd better something organised soon before it gets out of hand. ::) : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Morningangel-Iola May 04, 2005, 02:23:47 AM Our cats have hair ball snack things that stops it forming some I can't say they really have hair balls. One does throw up on accasion but I don't think its hair ::) And to think once I actually wanted to own a cat :o Please tell me some nice things they do other than yak up hair balls (no pun intended ;D) : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Morningangel-Iola May 04, 2005, 02:37:13 AM They are soft and furry and purr when they are happy. Is that any better? They are also happier on their own than dogs.
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 02:41:27 AM My cat takes a shower with me sometime ;D I've known alot of cats that do that like jump in the pool with you, shower, bath. Mine loves water ;D
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Sharon May 04, 2005, 02:43:18 AM Thank you ;D I probably still won't get one but the next time one of the neighbours cats purrs around my feet I will remember all these nice things.
I surpose as Gryffindors we are honour bound to like cats (big and small ;)). Mike as you are a Hufflepuff you probably have a bit of Gryffindor in you ;D : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 02:45:04 AM I love cats so I guess I have a little bit of Gryffindor in me. I do find that I am friends with a lot of Gryffindors ;D
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Morningangel-Iola May 04, 2005, 02:51:42 AM I don't know many people with a badger as a pet :-\ Mind you Gryffindor is a lion and not just any old moggy cat ;D
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : EmmasOneandOnly May 04, 2005, 02:53:27 AM I dont think many people have lions ether :o. I like badger but I wouldnt want them as pets
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : ferdinand_the_yak May 04, 2005, 04:30:41 AM I am guessing (hoping) the high bidder signed up for a new ID just to take the piss out of this auction... that is hilarious... and disgusting :P
: Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : thor May 04, 2005, 04:37:59 AM This auction is just in time for the new Elvis movie also...How many movies does that make about Elvis now ???
This auction is just as bad as the Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwitch auction ::) It amazes me some of the things people will buy :o : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Eve May 08, 2005, 02:39:23 AM I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time!
Fortunately, neither of my two kitties do that often, and certainly not that creatively(although I'm sure the whole thing is a joke.) At least I hope it is. : Re:Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Pumpkined May 13, 2005, 04:25:39 AM OMG i didn't even look at the price.who in gods name would paym that much for that! ME!Yep.... no :P : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Roz June 23, 2005, 06:40:56 PM Even if the cat could cough up solid gold strands of hairball I wouldn't be interested... it's just not worth it - the poor voles and mice of the area would be constantly deposited lifeless all over the path by your door... ick!
Not to mention that you get to hear the squeals of the mice as they kill them for sport - :( yes cats LOOK cute but they really aren't! They are little evil balls of fluff. : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : ferdinand_the_yak June 23, 2005, 06:59:55 PM They are little evil balls of fluff. Looks like we have a cattist in our ranks here ;) : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : sketchqueen June 23, 2005, 07:02:12 PM "They are little evil balls of fluff."
HA! I'll have you know that my FOUR cats are hardly evil, and not very fluffy either. Here's to you Smokey, Snowball, Bandit and Tigger :-* :-* :-* :-* : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Roz June 23, 2005, 07:13:28 PM lol - you caught me on a bad day today - had you asked me this 4 weeks ago I would say "ahh Mark's neighbours have the 2 cutest little kittens - one is black and white and cute as... well ... cute as a kitten ;) and the other has longer hair and white long haired ears which give him a mad look so we have dubbed him Einstein - soooooooooooooooo cute".
Over the past 4 weeks they have started depositing mice, voles and other redish disgusting blobs all over Mark's path and they have gone out of my good books - I think I also went out of their good books when I prevented them from coming into Mark's garden to chase a vole that had managed to escape and get under the fence into Mark's garden... I sat them out reading my book and they wouldn't go past me - Einstein just meowed at me... If I get hatemail I will know that it's Einstein's fault ;) Not to mention that I rang a very old friend the other day - he was half way through cursing his mother's cat who had brought a bird to the front door and Dave was shouting at it to take that thing outside... the cat just looked at him and then squeezed the bird in it's jaws until it's eye balls bulged and blead. LOVELY : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : ferdinand_the_yak June 23, 2005, 07:17:49 PM Oh that's uttery charming Roz. Excuse me while I take my food elsewhere *vomit icon*
I think bells on cat collars are a good idea, many cat owners have them and it helps cut down on the amount of native fauna that pet cats kill here. One of my closest friends has recently gotten a new kitten called Thumper which everyone is now cooing over. She tells me that she is now known as 'the kitten's mother' and that her fiancee treats him like his own newborn baby which is slightly disturbing  : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Roz June 23, 2005, 07:22:37 PM I think bells on cat collars are a good idea, many cat owners have them and it helps cut down on the amount of native fauna that pet cats kill here. Ooh that really is a wonderful idea - although I remember a story of a friend of mine who lived and had a cat in the States. Philly perhaps? Well that's where they live now, they are a military family so I think they move a fair bit. Anyway - my friend was equally upset that her cute baby kitten balls of fur were terrorising the local mouse population (and of course out in the country mice aren't really a problem for homes as there's plenty of food for them outside). Anyway they got fed up with all the dead things and so she bought a bell and a glow in the dark collar. Needlesstosay next morning the cat didn't come home! So remember in the Americas cats have larger animals that might pray on them, especially if you mark them with a light collar and bell) here in the UK there's not really anything to threaten them (except Roz sleepwalking ;)) so it's probably fine to put a bell on them. : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : rns91294 June 23, 2005, 10:54:31 PM Mike - I love Russian Blues!! Lucky you!!
I have two short hair cats, and the one throws up every day. Sometimes it is hairballs and they can be big. I have those treats to help as well, and also some medicated gel that she licks to help. But mostly, she throws up her food. I think she is anorexic or something because she is so tiny......the Vet thought she might have human hair stuck under her tongue causing her to gag, but she doesn't. We concluded that she swallows her food whole, trying to eat before her sister eats everything, and then throws it up because she can't diges tthe full pieces of food. I tried moving her bowl somewhere else, but then she just tries to eat out of her sisters........ Oh well, she is 5 years old now, so I guess she is okay. I give her wet food once in a while so she gets nutrients, and she eats treats without any problems, and she doesn't throw up every time she eats, but I do mostly find something at least once a day. : Re: Eww! The evil Millicent ;) she's very cute really ;) : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : sketchqueen June 24, 2005, 07:23:35 PM "Over the past 4 weeks they have started depositing mice, voles and other redish disgusting blobs all over Mark's path "
This means they love you and want you to be happy so they are bringing you gifts the only way they know how ;) Mine don't go outside, though, oddly, they suffer the exact problem that Sara's cat does - not keeping the food down, and I swear it's because they eat soo fast ... But no worries :) I know that just because I love the kitties, not everyone does. Sad but true fact: at one time I had 9 cats in one house. : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : ferdinand_the_yak June 24, 2005, 07:26:01 PM "Over the past 4 weeks they have started depositing mice, voles and other redish disgusting blobs all over Mark's path " This means they love you and want you to be happy so they are bringing you gifts the only way they know how ;) Oh bless them, how sweet (well, they think so anyway :)) Roz - just be glad that Mark knows other ways of showing his devotion to you  : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : Roz June 24, 2005, 07:43:34 PM See I have a love hate relationship with them myself ;) they have started talking to me as I pass though - is this a good sign or are they having a go at me for standing between them and their fun?
It doesn't seem aggressive but cats are baffling ;) "Over the past 4 weeks they have started depositing mice, voles and other redish disgusting blobs all over Mark's path " This means they love you and want you to be happy so they are bringing you gifts the only way they know how ;) Roz - just be glad that Mark knows other ways of showing his devotion to you  lol like programming a price guide - ahhh much better ;) : Re: Eww! Really gross Ebay Auction : ferdinand_the_yak June 25, 2005, 02:25:23 PM This made me laugh... a well behaved cat!
