: Lucky Envelopes : Sharon April 30, 2005, 01:33:54 AM My big brother (the Card Talk talker one) bought me two envelopes off of Ebay.
Not very exciting you may think but they were lucky dip costume and auto cards. The seller had about a dozen cards and randomly put them in sealed envelopes so you didn't know what card you would get. Anyway I got two I didn't have ;D An Hermione black robe from the first set and a Dudley auto. I now have 4 autographs :D Only 25 to go ::) : Re:Lucky Envelopes : kbmum April 30, 2005, 01:44:42 AM That was lucky! :) That type of auction is always so chancy.

Yes but that's what generous big brothers are for ;) : Re:Lucky Envelopes : Anna April 30, 2005, 01:47:16 AM I agree with kbmum. I'd be afraid to spend my money on something like this. :-\
Sharon, do you know the name of the seller that your brother got these envelopes from? Maybe this is a seller we can trust for this type of auction. : Re:Lucky Envelopes : EmmasOneandOnly April 30, 2005, 01:53:54 AM I've always wanted to try that but the ones I've seen people offer the high number cards and I want some low one ???

He has also got packs of cards before that guarantee a costume (not HP ones). The seller takes little sets of scales into shops and weighs the packs. :o I know this is totally unfair, immoral etc but at least when you buy a sealed pack from him you are guaranteed a chase card :) I confess I have been into Forbidden Planet and counted packs to get a chase card (some sets put them in the same place every time) ::) I've always wanted to try that but the ones I've seen people offer the high number cards and I want some low one I wouldn't worry too much about low numbered cards. A variant is special when it looks different but the numbering, unless it is your lucky number, is not so special. : Re:Lucky Envelopes : EmmasOneandOnly April 30, 2005, 02:08:37 AM I like varients most of the time I dont even look at the number if its a card I really want

He had a similar auction a week or so ago that I was watching and those cards were in it. They are gone from his current auction. I was thinking about buying, but with my luck I would end up with the Lupin. I think I'll buy a card I really want instead of taking a chance. But congrats on the envelopes your brother bought you, Sharon! ;D I have a bid right now on a pack of LOTR with guaranteed insert. We'll see. :-\Sharon, do you know the name of the seller that your brother got these envelopes from? Keep watching it though. If I do get outbid I'm not rebidding, so then you can go for it. ;D

Big bro told me there was a chance of film cells and the ever present Lupin jacket but I got lucky (had to happen some time ;)) |
