I was wodering if anyone here knows if there would be a problem storing my sketch cards in black Ultra-Pro single card sleeve (used for gaming cards) and then putting them into 9-pocket pages.  I think the black edging would enhance the appearace of the sketches.  I tried to locate black 9-pocket pages, but they don't seem to be available, there's only white pages.

I remember a thread that talked about not putting penny sleeves into screw-down cases, but don't recall any mention of 9-pocket pages. :-\

Doesn't the sketch look better with the black edges?  Although I don't like the holo dot at the corner of the sleeve. :-\

No no this should be fine (although your 9 pocket pages will be looser if you ever found youself using them for something else in future, but I don't think you will!).

We were only concerned about the screwdowns because they place real pressure on the cards  :-\

I've never seen any black backed 9 pocket pages or even any non ultra pro holo black backed singulars, but I'll certainly keep my eyes peeled :)

Would it be possible to attach a piece of archival quality black paper to the back of a clear 9-pocket page?  Or, you could hand cut the paper to fit into each pocket, then insert the sketches.

That's an idea kbmum, I never thought of that.  I do have black archival card stock, but I think it would be too thick. :-\

Thanks for the link grecopa. :)  I was all ready to order some and then I read the description and it said heavyweight vinyl.  Vinyl isn't archival safe (contains no PVC), so I'm concerned about storing my sketches in them.  :-\

People put their cards in toploaders but many of those are not archival safe - the difference? They put them inside penny sleeves first - might that be a solution?

They will ship to the UK.  I've been getting some of my autographed trading cards framed recently - seems a shame to leave them in the albums when they could be out on display.  The 2buds sell a two piece snap case that holds the cards nicely.  The chap who does my framing glues the cases to the mounting card (acid free of course) with some prints I bought at Memorabilia and then uses conservation glass (special UV reflective) so they don't fade.  The only problem is the costume cards as some of them are quite thick but the two piece case is available in a thicker version - now I can get my Stargate stuff done (7 autos, 7 costumes, 9 relics)!

He actually managed to frame a Hellboy action figure with 2 costume cards and the Ron Perlman auto card.  He also did 4 Osbourne's action figures and the four auto's.  Both look really cool  :)

Your framed cards sounds really cool Geek Boy! 8)  You should post a picture.  I'd love to see how it came out. :D

Anna, I haven't forgotten about posting some pics of my framed cards - just been really busy this week and I'm away for the weekend now.  I'll sort something next week but probably as a new thread.
