15 hours of Star Wars anyone?

For the very first time Star Wars fans will have the opportunity to watch all six movies back to back next month.

Star Wars Marathon will take place at UCI Empire at London's Leicester Square on May 16, beginning at 7 am with Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope (the 1977 original) and ending with an evening public premiere of the new Revenge of the Sith movie. That's not all, cos the day will be filled with never-to-be repeated activities presented by Lucasfilm Ltd and Twentieth Century Fox including special free performances of

John Williams' Star Wars music presented by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra while the 501st UK Garrison of Stormtroopers will be on duty all day to ensure order is upheld in the Square.

"Revenge of the Sith is a remarkable movie, and this extraordinary celebration reflects the fun and excitement that are the hallmarks of Star Wars,"said Episode III producer, Rick McCallum. "The Star Wars movies have a strong connection to the United Kingdom, so it's very fitting to hold this one-of-a-kind event here in London."

That's about 15 hours of Star Wars for the one thousand lucky fans first to buy the £50 Galactic Passports available from 9.00 am on Monday April 25 by calling: 08700 10 20 30.

Revenge Of The Sith is released across the country on May 19.

Do you know what order they are showing the films?  Will it be 1-6 or 1,2,4,5,6,3 or 4,5,6,1,2,3

I did the Back to the Future triple in Leicester Square for the premier of the third one many, many years ago so a little tip for anyone going is wear comfy clothes  ;D

It looks as though it will be 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, and then the premiere of 3.
I did 4, 5, and 6 in an all-nighter some years ago and I'd agree with you on the comfy, loose clothes and carpet slippers on your feet LOL! ;) ;D

I haven't even seen 4 and 5 yet so I am not sure I am "fan enough" to do this :)

But it sounds a good night out ;) I'd love to do this with a bunch of friends - how much would I love to have seen the 3 extended edition LOTRs surrounded by half the forum?

(and no we would not stop the movies if anyone needed to spend a penny  ::) )

Wow this sounds like a wonderful event.  I echo the thoughts of Sharon to wear comfortable cloths.  I was lucky enough to go to the LOTR's Marathon for the release of the ROTK and it was an event I will never forget just like the folks who are going to attend this Star Wars Marathon are going to feel.

I have not heard of something like this going on here in the States but I have to think that it will be.   :)
