I'm kind of new to non-sports trading cards.  Is there a publication similar to Beckett to get non-sport pricing?  Where would I purchase one?

Tne problem with Nsu is that it is rather inaccurate, for example - according to them the rarest card in poau is a WOOPING willow. Essentially it is so bad that I was driven to make our own for the shack.

Take for example a set we both know well: for example harry's grey tee limited to 475 from poau. On the yak shack guide we have it down as around $70 based only on ebay auctions. NSU has it as $260.I cannot imagine what that is based on.

So my advice is to use our guide  for the 12 sets that we cover and to search ebay's completed items for prices of cards from other sets. It is your only option for realistic online prices.

If you were buying in a shop you might end up paying double to cater for their overheads etc (actually though their price guide declares their prices to be without any dealer overheads on them, but 4x as much? I don't think you would want to ever return to that shop :P

If it really was worth $260 I can imagine the size of the smile on MPC's face ;)

Thanks, guys. :)  I really just wanted it for LOTR costume pricing.  I want to collect a few, but so far I'm not bidding more than $10 on any because I don't know what they go for.  I'll do my own reaserch and rely on the YakShack for the HP stuff.  Thanks for the help!

Ahh price guides for those are very much "on the cards" dyageddit ;)? just kidding.

But you can always ask us in the meantime as most of the people on this forum are walking encyclopaedia's on pricing :P

ya the NSU price guide isn't half as good as the one on here and if the card your looking for isn't on it i'm sure someone here will know about it

And the shacks price guide is 'live' so it is upto date and changes depending on sales ;)

Oooh. For LOTR costumes, unless you are looking at Trilogy (aren't as nice IMO) costumes, you will be looking to spend more than $10. Up to $250 for an Arwen Requiem cloak (TTU) or Arwen Riding outfit (FOTR). Most costumes are between $30-150.

But, as Roz said - ask us if you want to ask about a particular card! :)

FTY do you not like the trilogy costumes i think they are the nicer of the sets i love the back ground picture and the  use of the ring for the swatch.

I don't NOT like them, but I am not a huge fan of the Chrome effect on the card. And the swtches in the ring are smaller than I would like - guess I was spoilt with the other costumes in the earlier releases!

I am not a costume collector anyway... I prefer autographs. The only costume I have is a ROTK Elrond. I wish they put out a Legolas costume... my Leggy collection would be complete ;)
