I've had a few people ask me about this - how many posts do I need to get to such and such status. So here is the info:


Calf: 0-10
Cow: 11 - 50
Heffer: 51 - 100
Cow: 101 - 250
Bull: 251 - 1999
Yak: 2000 -

Once you become a Yak - congrats - you have achieved the highest level of Yakness! 8)

Well after this post I'm a yak with 600 posts ;)

Ive been here for quite a while, but obviously I dont post enough, I think Im still a Bull...

Its amazing how much you've posted in the short amount of time you have been with us (I don't think even I managed to get to Yak status so quickly ::) ), but its nice to see that you feel welcome enough to natter along with the rest of us Yaks ;)

Maybe I should make it into the guiness book of world records  :-[

Wow, EmmasOneandOnly, you are catching up to me with your posts!!!

My brother had been reading it for months but he is a 'Card Talk' talker  ;D so never joined.

Then Roz very kindly parted with a beautiful Daily Profit (which still looks gorgeous) and my big Bruv said 'That's Yak Shack Roz'.  The rest is history  :D

And as he found out at Memorabilia we do burn Card Talkers at a stake :P

Don't worry son, it's all based on how many posts you do - the more you contribute to the topics and comments on the Forum the higher your post-count and the nearer the next level will be! ;) ;D

I saw that these were the post requirements for each level.  Am I correct in assuming that it is a mistake and the rank of Cow may only be obtained once (here it is listed as both 11-50 and 101-250)?  This is also assuming that their should only be five different status titles, aside from our lovely moderators?   

Calf: 0-10
Cow: 11 - 50
Heffer: 51 - 100
Cow: 101 - 250
Bull: 251 - 500
Yak: 501 -

I question this because I have 100+ posts and I am still a Heffer with two stars.  Not complaining in the least, but just wondering if anything has been changed recently.

That was a typo.  Heffer is from 51 -250.

Ok.  Thanks for the help, that does makes sense.  Not that I'm in that much of a rush.... ::)

Blank videos where this weeks Stargate, Threshold, Atlantis, Charmed etc should be all wrapped up with a dud POA box  >:D

BTW Roz, how about a Shackers Shindig at a con this year to rival Card Talk's breakfast  8)

Well we usually try to have something - whether it be a prolonged chat in a big group or a coffee around a table :) only informal affairs, but to be fair the Shack's a very informal kind of place :) but you have a point, if we wanted to get everyone together it might be fun. I don't think I'll be able to make it to G-Mex so it may very well be that the next one is in San Diego :rofl: if my trip there comes off (save save save - which isn't easy when Evolution and GoFU are on the way)

Awww but I'm boycotting San Diego this year! I refuse to take another "vacation" where I have to work ;)

Why is cow listed twice ??

It is a typo error.  Heffer should be from 51 - 250 posts. 

I can't be too far off a record I hope I have been a member for 1 day 11 hours and 2 mins and posted about 162 posts, :o=

Not quite :) - well - yes and no. Remember this forum wasn't initally set up to be the major international trading card hub that it has become ;)

There's a bookshop in Cambridge called Heffers, with several branches throughout the city and I used to spend a while in there hunting out some books, Mark was always setting off my mobile in this VERY quiet, formal place, so it's a (rather boring) play on words from that, diverting from the straight calf theme.... ok... it's neither funny or clever now...although it appeared to be funny at the time... perhaps we'd had a few :rofl: ;)

Ah ha... very cool...  hmmmmmmm perhaps there needs to be a worm level :D

Ha ha, I like it. Although I do think it's awful enough that the forum default user ID 'description' is "I'm a Llama" ... after all it's really only that awful to force you to change it... but calling new members worms *might* be taking it too far :rofl:

Roz that is a very cool link.  I loved all the pictures of Cambridge!   :)   You have got to rent the DVD Chariots of Fire.  It won Best Picture back in 1981 or 1982 and is all about The British Olypmic Team and the 1924 Olympics in France.  Several of the main characters are from Cambridge and your University is featured many times in the film.  One of the best movies I have ever seen.  They just released the movie on DVD last year so watch it and let me know what you think of what they showed of Cambridge.   :) 

I thought you would be interested Ed, especially to see the last couple of photographs, the cemetary is a few miles out of Cambridge though :) but near enough to Duxford for the occasional celebratory fly past ;)

I've never seen Chariots of Fire Ed, but I will add it to my rental list (do I keep saying that? :P) the most fun way to see Cambridge is to hire a punt and make your way up the River Cam from Magdalene Bridge to the weir, the pictures there don't really show how pretty it is, and make the stone look rather dull but it was the only one with a pic of Heffers ;)

Yea those are some nice photos on the site.  The American Cemetery is very well maintained and I am happy to see that as those men gave their all to help end tyranny.  It is a place I will visit when I get over to see you both.

I would put Chariots of Fire to the top of your list if I were you.  It won the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Song, Best Music, and one or two others that I can't recall now.  The theme song "Chariots of Fire" was an international hit and the CD Music from the film is outstanding.  Ian Holm of LOTR's fame has a great role in the movie as a coach.  Now if that does not move you to rent it ASAP I don't know what will!!   :)
