: Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Roz April 09, 2005, 11:00:53 PM At the Blessing?
There were 2 seats next to William and Harry which the BBC presenters said the Queen would sit in. However when they arrived Philip sat in the pew BEHIND William and Harry, so the Queen followed. However, the Queen never sits BEHIND anyone for anything. So doesn't this strike you as odd? : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Anna April 09, 2005, 11:08:01 PM Maybe the Queen knows something about William and Harry that we don't know about. ;)
: Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : MakTheYak April 09, 2005, 11:30:18 PM Yeah - like Harry was doing something utterly stupid like wearing unsuitable and offensive costume again underneath his morning dress ::)
: Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Morningangel-Iola April 10, 2005, 02:55:15 AM I thought they were shown to those seats. My mum and me for wondering why there were two spares at the front ::) Actually Harry liked rather well behaved from once William seemed more mischiefous for once, go Wills ;)
: Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : ferdinand_the_yak April 10, 2005, 03:42:33 AM I couldn't tell you - I avoided that ceremony like the plague ::)
: Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Morningangel-Iola April 10, 2005, 03:50:53 AM I did try to but it was there. I'm not keen on the woman but at least he's doing the right thing now. If only he had done that all those years ago ::)
: Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : ferdinand_the_yak April 10, 2005, 03:53:26 AM It was here as well - on every single channel (bar one). I can understand the Pope's funeral being on all channels - but this?
Ick :P : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Nienna April 10, 2005, 06:56:49 AM Well, I'm happy to say that my house has been a Pope-free and wedding-free zone!! ;D
I thought you'd all appreciate this photo ... (http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-3/970715/charles-camilla.jpg) Enjoy!! ;D : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : ferdinand_the_yak April 10, 2005, 01:00:04 PM You're not a monarchist then, Jules?
Just had this feeling... ;) : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : zero April 10, 2005, 01:31:17 PM Time zone-age has prevented complete viewing of both of these events from this side of America. At least, I think. They showed the Pope's funeral live so it was in the AM hours. From just flipping the channels, it would seem that they repeated parts or complete viewing of the funeral on all the major news channels CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.
The whole wedding was rather pushed to the side-line compared to the funeral. They mentioned it but that was all I heard of it. Then again, my eyes weren't really glued to the news channels. : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : mcgonagall April 10, 2005, 03:47:06 PM wwoooohhooo I missed it all i was watching the WWE live from my front seat and the burswood dome in perth Australia and afterwards i went back to my hotel and had room service.
So i had a wedding / funeral free weekend : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Roz April 10, 2005, 04:23:13 PM There are several in the Royal Household who believe that the monarchy will not exist after Liz's death.
Personally I will heave a huge sigh of relief if that's the case P.S. No wedding presents from Oz this time hahahahahaha : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : ferdinand_the_yak April 10, 2005, 05:02:04 PM No - we did! Some painting
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,12811164-2,00.html (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,12811164-2,00.html) We're not that cheap ;) Gah - just read the article - it was a PRINT of a painting! So yes, we really are that cheap ;D : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Roz April 10, 2005, 05:56:50 PM He hee - apparently when he married Diana you sent almost a household full of stuff including many many many bottles of wine :) so remember all this when I am getting married :P ;D
And no prints please ;) unless it's a signed Print by Alan Lee and Ian McKellen - that would be ok :P Nah I'm just kidding, I thought it was Awesome that you guys didn't send that much. Amusingly enough someone printed and sold Union Jacks at the event and printed them all and placed them on sticks upside down, which is not only a sign of distress, but also an insult to the crown, which is hilarious - mistake or intended? I hope it was intended ;D : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : ferdinand_the_yak April 10, 2005, 06:20:14 PM Gosh we never sent that much - the article I posted said that we sent them 20 handcrafted silver platters
Probably gathering dust in a random garage in Buckingham palace ;) : Re:Did the Queen sit in the wrong space..? : Nienna April 10, 2005, 11:05:25 PM Nahhh I bet they aren't FTY ... bet Lizzie has either given them away to 'trusted' staff or they've been auctioned on the quiet.
I think you'll find an awful lot of people in the UK share my antipathy towards the Crown and more specifically to Charlie Farley and Piggy Malone ... *opps* ... that's a Two Ronnies sketch! LOL ::) :P They did surveys to see how many people would be I can understand the Pontiff's funeral attracting HUGE crowds, but as I'm not a religious person at all then it held no interest for me and I'll keep my opinions over it all to myself! :-X They always say ... don't discuss religion or politics as you're bound to offend somebody, so I'll be a good girl and keep schtum. ;) The only bit of Charley Farley/Drippy Di memorabilia I own is a dreadful yellow mug which my late mother bought and gave to me in a fit of extreme bad taste (bless her!) ... I'd dearly love to smash it cos it's that bad, but as it's something she gave me for a bit of a giggle then I've not had the heart to do it. One day though ... *looks beadily at said mug* ... 'your days are numbered you 'orrible thing'! :P LOL ;D |
