: PoA Security & Quality! : SIX June 01, 2004, 02:36:14 AM Well I took the kids to see PoA this morning, (9am at the Mall!) DOn't you just love School Holidays ???
Anyway, Good Film, But 2 real moans! 1: Quality of the Print, The Film seems to be very low quality, and was Soft Focus in a lot of sections of the film, seemed like it was just sections and not the entire film, did anyone else notice this! 2: Security, I really don't appreciate being treated like a criminal!, and 5 mins of Federation Against Copyright Theft warning before the Film, warning that security personel would be checking the theatre for recording devices,! Followed at least 6 times during the film by Theatre staff wandering thru using Night Vision Goggles to check the entire audience really was a distraction at points! Was this a general thing, or did I just go to the Multiplex from hell! Regards Victoria : Re:PoA Security & Quality! : Roz June 01, 2004, 08:24:12 AM OK - for those of us who thought you were losing your mind and watching too much X-Files:

The studio's have so much invested in the making of these movies that they can not afford the piracy that is going on and thus we have these security measures. It will be interesting to see if this happens in the United States when I see the movie when it opens this Friday, June 4th.
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : MakTheYak June 03, 2004, 12:04:20 AM I have to say I didn't even notice anyone with IR goggles. The warning notices at the beginning weren't too bad - it's just like all the rubbish you get at the beginning of a DVD... you just ignore it.
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 03, 2004, 12:28:19 AM Aye Mark would have been warned by his spider sense tingling!! ;) But seriously maybe the reason you did not see anyone is because they were very good at what they were doing and did not come to the attention of the audience. That would be my method of operation especially if you were trying to catch someone making a copy of the movie.
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : Roz June 03, 2004, 12:33:27 AM True but not many cinema workers have SAS type training... hmm Mark is that what you did on that "team building" weekend with Genesis Cinema?
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 03, 2004, 12:34:40 AM I knew Mark had other talents!! 8)
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : MakTheYak June 03, 2004, 12:41:34 AM yeah they had us jumping through pits of pirhana infested swamp water and swinging from the ceiling of screen 1 with our web canisters strapped to our wrists...
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : Roz June 03, 2004, 02:03:58 AM Sounds fun! Why wasn't I asked to join? :'(
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : MakTheYak June 03, 2004, 02:45:34 AM Because you've got almost twice the number of posts that I have on my own board! Shocking!
</end off topic observation> : Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 03, 2004, 05:47:00 AM Mark:
Remember what it says under Roz's avatar, She leads the Revolution!! ;) : Re:PoA Security & Quality! : MakTheYak June 03, 2004, 10:19:51 AM I don't doubt it!
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 03, 2004, 10:23:47 AM Hey Mark:
I am a heffer now and not in the sense of Shallow Hal!! ;) : Re:PoA Security & Quality! : Roz June 03, 2004, 10:28:25 AM Keep going Ed to achieve "Yak" status! :)
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 04, 2004, 06:00:32 AM How many posts do you need to have to climb into the lofty ranks of Yak?
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : MakTheYak June 04, 2004, 09:18:15 AM It goes calf , heffer (50 posts), cow (100 posts), bull (250 posts) and finally Yak (500 posts). You know it's worth the effort ;)
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 04, 2004, 09:22:31 AM I will reach that lofty Yak goal so help me!! 8)
: Re:PoA Security & Quality! : Roz June 04, 2004, 09:26:16 AM Laugh out blimmin loud - do you remember in the Monstors Inc film they do a musical during the credits "put that thing back where it came from - so help me?" - your
I will reach that lofty Yak goal so help me!! 8) perfectly fits into that pattern - so you can sing along using that theme! As indeed Mark and I just did! Ahem - it's 11.20 PM here - surely I am allowed a LITTLE madness ??? : Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 06, 2004, 01:00:28 AM Roz you know that "madness" is allowing anytime on TheYakShack!! ;D
I saw HP PoA last evening and there was no security evident at all. We live in a very small town and the theater we see films at has only 2 screens so I was not expecting anything like what I was reading in the posts here. Now granted where I used to live there is a huge Showcase Cinema complex with 21 screens and I would not have been surprised to see security measures there. As a matter of fact there was not any type of warning notes like Mark was talking about either. And yes Roz & Mark I know the song of which you speak and now you have me singing this tune - so help me!! :D : Re:PoA Security & Quality! : ferdinand_the_yak June 06, 2004, 01:12:01 AM I love that movie as well ;D
The end credits (goofs) are the best! : Re:PoA Security & Quality! : savage727 June 06, 2004, 01:17:06 AM I agree they are quite funny! The outtakes were especially good as well. :)
