Hi Guys!

Many's a morning I waited patiently until finally this morning - they came - it's the Harry Potter Top Trumps Set. I think I am one of the few people to really have a totally complete set of LOTR Top Trumps as they reprinted them (when the FOTR ones got hideously rare) and they also did some very rare "super top trumps" like the Flying Nazgul and Shelob which are proudly in my collection.

Anyway - it's about time to start collecting HP ones and to give you all a taster of what the cards look like I scanned some in:

Very cool. It's odd that they haven't put foil stamping on the cards like they did with the later LOTR sets but they are still very cool.

I bought 2 packs as I thought someone off the forum would want them, but no-one's contacted me so I have put them up on ebay - I hope to get my money back on the spare so fingers crossed for me guys:

All in all a fun set. Now all I need is someone for a game :)

He hee - they did FOTR and it was relatively short printed and it went high in price. Then later they printed it (slightly differently - i.e. it was stamped with "specials" across each card) within a "Trilogy set" of all 3 packs. Which came with 9 bonus cards. That would be the one for you to get Jo :)

You Brits get all the cool stuff >:( LOL, enjoy.

Did you get the Buckbeak special card as well. Mine came today and so did my normal pack. I ordered the pack on line last week and am pretty impressed with the service. :)

Mine cost £7.97 for the two packs (£3.985 each ::), which is the normal retail price for them :)
My son was checking out some of the shops the day before to see if there were any available and couldn't find them, so it was really nice to be able to give him one of the packets today and say ... 'here, these are for you!' ;D

It was a pre-order so there wasn't any.

Well, we went in and asked about them and none of the assistants knew when they'd be stocking them, so for once ... my son will be one of the first people to get them instead of the last! 8) :P ;D

Now all I need to do is to track down a couple of the Buckbeak cards without breaking the bank to get them, as I haven't got a paid-up subscription to qualify for one of them as a freebie ... yet! ;)

Nice not to have to pay postage either and I believe their postal charges are quite reasonable on normal 'in stock' items, which is good to know.

It's a sensible b-i-n price but what concerns me are the postal charges ... £3.01 for standard rate, which will basically be a 1st class stamp costing 30p! :o :-\
A bit excessive I thought ...
I've emailed the seller querying this amount and how much they charge for combining multiple items and I'll be very interested to know their response. ;)

Well, I got a reply and I'm not sure the seller has answered my question or not! ::)

Could you tell me how much it would cost for multiple items to be sent together please? Also, is the amount of £3.01 you've quoted on your listing for Standard postage rate correct? I'd be really grateful if you could let me know please. Thanks very much.

I thought I'd phrased the query rather well, but it appears they have just focussed on what they think the've read rather than what is actually there! :-\

It costs £3 for the annual subscription to the Top Trumps website which in turn means you're eligible to receive the Super Top Trumps free of charge from them (I think they release six a year) ... so although it's a good b-i-n price, the seller is clawing his money back by over-charging on the postage! >:(

Aha so it was a nice morning for us all - the postman knocked and woo hoo there it was. I sent separately for buckbeak of course but like you they came the same day.

Jules - you know that during the course of the year there will be others you want - probably a Goblet of Fire and probably another Star Wars one, just sign your son up for their site and send off for another. Total cost £3.50 for the first promo STT card but around 50p each for the next few!

Eek - top trumps are now out of stock for this item  ::) I wonder when they will appear in the shops?

Good point Roz and I know I'll give in eventually as I want a Buckbeak and a certain somebody not a million miles away will want one too! ;)

Not at all McG, I will get you a pack at the earliest opportunity. I could send you mine but I opened them to take the scans, so you would probably prefer a sealed set. They should be in the shops in a week or two so don't panic :) I will keep an eye on the site and order more when they are taking orders and I will get you some. I'll try shipping them straight through to you but that may not work so obviously I'll get them to me and post them on :)
