From the Australian set I have Norbrt, The Troll, Severus Snape and Hogwarts. From the first US set of 24 I have number 1 Adalbert Waffling if any one wants them.

I am trying to complete the US 2nd set of 12 and still need numbers  1 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 8 / 9 if anyone can help.

Does anyone have any idea just how RARE the Potter Family card is from the new packaging of the US Chocolate Frogs?  I opened 10 packs this weekend and didn't see one.  Makes the one for $19.95 on  :ebay: not look so bad...

A couple of weeks ago, a seller had that card with a $9.99 BIN.  I passed on it and have been kicking myself ever since. ::)

But where's the chocolate fun in that?

Wow Angie, how do you ever get started on Foreign sets?? Dawn are you looking for any or do you have a full set?

Well, the chocolate in these is barely suitable for human consumption so I'm not missing anything there.

I should get a list of these together as I would love to start trading for some of the non-US sets.

That's odd - who produces yours, I actually don't think the choccie in ours is half bad - which is a jolly good thing because they aren't cheap. Although to be fair I haven't had one of these in years :(

Ours are made by CAP which is the candy division of the toy maker Hasbro.  They do lots of the gimmick candies you see in toy stores since Hasbro has the license for many of the toys.  A shame a real chocolate company isn't involved.

Ahh, we have a similarly awful gimmicky confection company in the UK - Kinnerton!

But our Choccie Frogs are made by Mars. Or at least they were when they first came out, I'll take a look next time I see one ;D

Whilst Mars is hardly Belgian choccie, the choccie frogs are very enjoyable all the same _{especially with a nice cup of tea}

I don't know, I like them!!  But then again, I likie any kind of chocolate :-\  I would love to get my hands on a full UK set, if anyone has one....of course, I should be saving my money for GoF right now.....

I didn't know these were such a big collectors item... I have a few lying around at home, but I gave up on collecting them as the chocolate wasn't all that nice :P

But these cards are very nice.  I already did lots of trading in the past to get a full second set of US ones, and I still am missing a bit from the first set, but unfortuantely, I think I no longer have any duplicates......

I, sadly, only have one card :rofl: Its Professor Sprout. I thought it was funny that I "pulled" my Head of House 8)

Oh life breath in old topic. No I think I had a full set Roz, although I have a feeling the brought some more out. I haven't seen them in ages, the chocy was rather nice ;)

I think I have still got the cards listed at the beginning of this thread if anyone is of need.

Walked by a nice little candy shop in the town where I live, first time I had passed by it, so I decided to go in. Lo and behold, they had them some Chocolate Frogs. Thought what the heck, so I got two, and got the Prof. Sprout card and the Potter Family card (these are the US ones, of course). I rather like them, though the frogs where just a tad over priced. :D

I was wondering about the rarity of the Potter Family card as well.  I couldn't seem to find any information around the web on this one.  But the front of the pack seemed to proclaim that it is a relatively rare card.  I doubt we will get numbers on this one, but I thought that some of you may have purchased enough packs to get a sense for rarity.

The first pack I opened contained a Potter Family card, so opening the three others I had purchased was quite anti-climatic (aside from the delicious chocolate that is  >:D)

Any thoughts?

I don't know the print run, but the card is definitely more rare than the others.  When the series was released (Series 3, I think), the Potter Family cards were selling upwards of $25.  Now you can get them in the $8 to $15 range.  I bought quite a few chocolate frogs, but had to go the eBay route to get the card.

For me, that's one of the most poignant scenes in all of the HP movies.  It's really very sad.  When COS is released this summer, I hope that's one of the case cards.
