: shipping issue with seller : kbmum March 20, 2005, 09:33:45 PM I received a card yesterday that was sent in a sleeve and top loader, but mailed in a regular business envelope. There was no other protection -- no bubble wrap, cardboard, not even a piece of paper wrapped around the card. The envelope was torn in the back, along the top edge of the top loader. I was very lucky that the card didn't fall out in transit or become damaged.
The seller used a 37-cent first class stamp, and it wasn't even her own envelope. It was business stationery from where she works. For this, I was charged $2.50. Is it too much to expect that it would have been shipped in a bubble envelope, or at least with some cardboard? The card arrived in perfect condition (if only by luck), and much to my surprise, it is a variant (there was no picture with the auction). Clearly, the seller didn't know what she had and maybe doesn't know how to properly ship cards. I don't know what to do about feedback or whether I should contact the seller privately. : Re:shipping issue with seller : Anna March 21, 2005, 12:13:32 AM What kind of feedback does this seller have? If this is her normal shipping practice, I'm sure other card collectors would have complained about it already.
: Re:shipping issue with seller : Roz March 21, 2005, 12:18:09 AM Definitely email. But it might be pretty harsh to neg someone when the card arrived safely and it may just be a case of them not understanding our business :-\
: Re:shipping issue with seller : kbmum March 21, 2005, 01:09:47 AM She has 6 negatives and 10 neutrals, although one or two of the negatives weren't there when I placed my bid. Almost all of the feedback has to do with length of time to ship.
I found one negative from October with the complaint that she sent the card in a regular envelope. There were no complaints like that since, so I figured she learned her lesson. I think it would be harsh to leave a negative, but she can't say she doesn't understand our business when someone else complained about her choice of shipping materials. I guess I'll send her a friendly email. |
