yeah, I spoke to him once before about his cards, and he seems decent.  I think he had this card up for auction no too long ago, but withdrew the auction; hopefully this time I get a chance to bid  8)

I have my fingers crossed for you - apart from the heart and kiss, its a decent TT signature as well. I just hope that people won't go too crazy for it  because of the variants.

I wonder how it will go compared to the other one that is on auction at the moment? I'll keep both on my watch list.

Hey, Im very happy with my brand new pink mini iPod!  ;D  Even my brother likes it, and he has a normal one. And yeah they do look better, and are scratch resistant to boot  :P

Did you guys get that Telstra promo where if you signed up for a Telstra plan/prepaid you got a mini IPod for $99? I would have gotten it, but I just finished a 2 year contract with them and their rates suck - so expensive! :P

He hee - yeah the backs of normal ones do scratch like mad!! Even with the case that apple supply (not that they do now - skinflints).

I am not sure about the case/bracket thing they supply with the mini ipod I must say  :-\

They are meant to be scratch proof, something to do with what the casing is made out of. Cant get one from telstra, Ive been with them for about 6 years so am not a new sign-up.

ya that is a really cool card alright and i say go for a mini ipod.i got one for christmas and they are just the coolest.i went for blue of course but i think the colours are really cool.its still a bit of a ......... doing everything you can to prevent the screen getting scratched.but its worth it.

Hey Jo, as a student you get a discount too. I went to an apple shop, showed my uni student card and got another 10% off, so it was only $269 (not bad when they used to be 399!)

It couldnt be too hard to talk her into a pink mini-they're gorgeous!

If you cant get one in a store, go to www.apple.com.au/education (http://www.apple.com.au/education), you can click through and select your "school", then purchase the ipod for 269 with free delivery within 1-2 days...exactly the same as in store but they send it to you...

I got the 4gig, fits 1000 songs. The 6gb fits 1500...

Now you see 1000 songs should really be enough for anybody.

Well im glad the TT leggy has been sold otherwise I would have brought it.....and been totally broke (like usual)

There will be no need to convince me on the mini ipod I soooo want one....my second fave colour is pink so im all for it!! I am dropping the hint to my bf that I want it for my birthday, but that is in October and I think I will secumb to the pressure and get one before then!!!

btw dodo retail stores have the ipod mini on special for $245 at the moment (well last week when I saw them anyway) which I think is the best deal I have seen so far!!

My mum is buying me one for my birthday VERY early (my b'day is Oct 12) and I have one on hold at a shop downstairs. It is the new 2nd generation...16 hours battery life compared to the old 8 hours.....

i know they say on the box they are scratch-proof, which is true, just dont drop it; you get a lovely mashed in patch  :'( (friendly advice  :D)

I am just really excited I cant wait to get it!! The only silly thing about these 'new' ipods is they dont come with an AC adaptor, so the only way you can charge is through your computer USB port... >:(

yeah mine has a little bashed in spot on the front left; i was trying to get out the door at uni, which you need a swipe card for, and i was juggling the card, my keys, my sunnies etc, dropped the sunnies twice, then when i tried to put my keys in my bag the ipod fell out and hit the concrete floor. its not so bad, just a little chipped out spot.
i can recommend an ipod sock; i usually keep it in that, and when you drop it you dont get any dents, but ive been lazy lately, much to my regret  :-\

i dont mind the usb cable, im always at my computer so i just leave it plugged in, and if i do wander away its only to the lab so its not really an issue...

oh no...well that will teach you for next time to have it in the ipod sock!! Do you have an official apple ipod sock? I dont know what to get...

i think the usb cable to charge will be fine for me too, im at my desk on the comp 8 hours a day 5 days a week.... so plenty of chances to plug it in for a charge :)

i know i know; ive learnt my lesson  :P

yep mines a proper apple sock, but they are about $40ish dollars for a pack of 6, so i just bought one (a blue one) off ebay for about $9...

ahhh yes I looked it up on the net...they are pretty cute but wouldnt buy the whole pack..i will pick one up off  :ebay:

Just one question cause I couldnt find the answer in my brief skim through the booklet...do you have to charge the ipod for a certain amount of time before you use it? ie like mobile phones you usually have to charge them up fully first..  :-\

This is probably too late, but I would suggest that yes you do leave it on charge, but disconnect it from itunes (so that the screen says "ok to disconnect" or it will wear on the Hard Drive all the time it's plugged in... not a problem in the short term but in the long term may shorten the life of the ipod

Trey - congrats on joining the Aussie gals Pink Ipod club! I got a 6GB one (not sure if its the 'New Generation' one, I assume it is) but it has an AC adaptor that I bought for an extra $40-50. Not bad in the long term :)

what colour sock did you get? i got a blue one cos pink seems to be more popular and more expensive...

I put all my songs that I had on my computer onto my ipod late last night, problem is that now I have to name them all properly etc cause its a bit of a mess at the moment!

Don't you think it's silly that they come in packs of all 6 colours? I Bought my bro an orange one for his IPOD mini but had to buy it on ebay to buy one alone ::)

it is silly- who needs 6 diff socks; there are only 5 days in a working week, but 7 in a full week  ;D

Obviously ebay is the way to go for singles; maybe i should by a pack and sell them separately on  :ebay:  ::)

Yep especially if you get the educational discount at your Uni Shop ;) every little helps! And if you do do that - put me down for the Orange one as Mark has bought one of these new fangled photo ones but he didn't get a case with it (like you used to - the older IPODs came loaded with accessories *sigh* those were the days.
