: The Staff of Wizards : snakefeet March 18, 2005, 03:50:22 AM Can anyone explain how gandalf gets his staff back from Saruman after escaping (on an eagle) from the tower of orthanc? or how gandalf (reborn as gandalf the white) gets his staff back at the end of the film after it's broken by the Witchking of Angmar? I mean do wizards just have an endless supply of these things........tucked under their long robes.....
: Re:The Staff of Wizards : Goofyjas March 18, 2005, 12:04:47 PM it is a different staff!
4 total staves! angmar :P : Re:The Staff of Wizards : Roz March 18, 2005, 04:13:03 PM Yes that Angmar lark was a bit of bad editing wasn't it?
What they really needed was a scene with all the enslaved "battery hobbits" (like Battery hens but hobbittey) spending all their days carving Wizards staffs, I daresay that's the disgusting truth of the whole matter : Re:The Staff of Wizards : Sharon March 19, 2005, 01:51:11 AM it is a different staff! 4 total staves! I didn't know the plural of staff was staves. you learn something new every day :) I do like the idea of sweat shop Hobbits. ;) They probably run laundery's as well that have to wash all the Elven robes. After all in some parts of the film Arwen is dragging half the forest on the hem of her dress ;D Anyway surely new 'staves' wouldn't be a problem. He is a wizard after all. He could just 'magic' one up ;) : Re:The Staff of Wizards : Varda April 07, 2005, 02:55:15 AM I think that little fluffy moth that Gandalf whispers to on top of Orthanc goes and gets it for him!
: Re:The Staff of Wizards : savage727 April 07, 2005, 08:47:43 PM Good one Varda!! ;) That moth must be like Faulks the Phoenix Bird in Harry Potter which can lift enormous amounts of weight!! Imagine that moth flying off with Gandalf's Staff!! Now that would be a sight!
