: LOTR game on the way : Roz May 29, 2004, 09:01:43 PM From the sounds of it - Ben / Samwise 16 is now a big fan of RPGs... wait til he hears about this:
http://www.eagames.com/official/lordoftherings/thethirdage/us/home.jsp?sssdmh=dm24.54218 A LOTR RPG :o : Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 03, 2004, 12:06:47 AM Has anyone watched the preview on Disk 2 of ROTK for the new EA LOTR's Game coming out? It is called "The Battle for Middle Earth" and looks fantastic. Check it out on your Disk 2. This is not the one Roz was just talking about although that one is going to be pretty cool as well.
: Re:LOTR game on the way : Roz June 03, 2004, 12:08:08 AM Ooh I assumed it was the game I already have ::)
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 03, 2004, 12:15:31 AM Roz:
Nope - this is a brand new game coming out. The narrator who is I think John Ryes-Davies also says that there are more LOTR's games in the pipeline. : Re:LOTR game on the way : samwise16 June 04, 2004, 08:03:32 AM what can i say apart from i can't wait. i have to complete HP first though :D
: Re:LOTR game on the way : Roz June 04, 2004, 08:45:52 AM Ben do you have the ps2 eye toy? it's supposed to be a lot more fun with the mini games if you have it
: Re:LOTR game on the way : samwise16 June 04, 2004, 09:29:37 AM no pity i don't whats the average price for one? ::)
: Re:LOTR game on the way : MakTheYak June 04, 2004, 10:00:16 AM Take the game back on Game's 10 day money back guarentee. Then buy it again, because when you buy it you can also buy the Eye Toy camera for £10 instead of £30.
: Re:LOTR game on the way : samwise16 June 04, 2004, 10:08:42 AM even though i have just played the game (opened the case and played it) ? ???
: Re:LOTR game on the way : Roz June 04, 2004, 06:51:14 PM Yep game have a 10 day garuantee (no quibble) so if you don't like the game you can take it back - they will be nice to you anyway if you are secretly buying the game as well - I did a similar thing with our copy of ROTK :) LOL
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 06, 2004, 12:08:37 AM Hey Roz & Mark:
You are using the Eye Toy when playing ROTK? You must tell us what that looks and feels like!! ;) What do you use for weapons if you are fighting Orcs, Uruk-Hai, and other nasties? : Re:LOTR game on the way : saruman June 08, 2004, 10:56:12 AM ya i'm also really curious,is it better than normal with it
: Re:LOTR game on the way : MakTheYak June 09, 2004, 01:58:09 AM You can't actually use the Eye Toy to play games unless they are specifically written for Eye Toy (unfortunately). So we only have the two Eye Toy games that have been released and when we get Harry Potter then there will be that one too. I'm tempted to get Singstar, which uses microphones and you sing kareoke at it and you can use the Eye Toy as an optional extra.
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 09, 2004, 11:13:59 PM Well folks:
That does it for me. All this talent and he can sing too!! :) Now we want some samples of Mark singing!! Any way to post up some samples on the Forum? How about doing a singing piece for Bob's Your Uncle or your Pirates strip? 8) I know Mark - I have too much time on my hands!! :) : Re:LOTR game on the way : MakTheYak June 10, 2004, 09:40:56 PM Well I can't really sing in tune but I enjoy it all the same! The people around me, however, do not. You never know, if I ever branch out into a flash cartoon of any of my strips there might be a song in there somewhere. But eeing how long it takes me to do still frames, it might take a little longer to some up with a fully animated cartoon!!
: Re:LOTR game on the way : Roz June 10, 2004, 10:55:43 PM Rubbish about the "in tune bit"
He even wrote a song once! And did you know the man plays the Bassoon (I play the oboe). Did you also know the fabulous sneezing in sneezin' steven is Mark's "voice acting" Watch out Viggo! : Re:LOTR game on the way : ferdinand_the_yak June 10, 2004, 11:01:13 PM He has to get the rugged, manly stubble and Flame of the West thing going on first ;D
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 11, 2004, 12:27:18 AM Mark - that's you in Sneezing Stephen!! :o Now look at the can of worms I have opened!! ;)
FTY - Mark also has to let his hair grow to shoulder length in addition to your suggestions!! :) Mark - is it very difficult to program voice and music into toons? : Re:LOTR game on the way : MakTheYak June 11, 2004, 02:04:59 AM Not at all when you use Flash - it's a matter of importing a wave or an MP3 file. Very easy really :)
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 11, 2004, 11:40:09 PM Now why did I expect you to say that? :) After all you are one of the most talented people I know with computers and graphics!! ;D
When I get the Jonny Quest DVD's and send them to you to view I would be interested in your description of how these were made as the series came out in 1964 so the technology would have been different from today. I really enjoyed the series and I think you will too. I think there are 26 half hour esisodes to the first season. : Re:LOTR game on the way : Roz June 12, 2004, 12:00:57 AM Now why did I expect you to say that? :) After all you are one of the most talented people I know One of the most? ONE??? Tut! :) When I get the Jonny Quest DVD's and send them to you to That would be great - we'll try to watch them quickly and send them back - blimey this cross continent DVD rental *might* be taking things too far :P Actually Ed - talking of which I still have all your trailers on top of my wardrobe... Mark left them at my place as my home is nearer to the train station we go to when we are going to London. So when we have a trip to the cinema in London planned I'll let you know and you can choose your frames from the trailers :) : Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 12, 2004, 12:15:06 AM Thanks Roz - sounds like a good plan. I actually am interested in just about all the the sequences on the trailers so I do not expect Mark to have to splice up the remains after the three of us get the film cells we want!! :)
: Re:LOTR game on the way : Roz June 12, 2004, 12:18:45 AM ok good idea - I'll buy a couple of batches of those card sleeves to put each frame in - if they get scratched at all they seem to go green so it seems a good idea to protect them :)
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 12, 2004, 10:57:47 PM Hi Roz:
I hope you get the opportunity to be with Mark when he views the trailers and cuts our cells!! :) I wish I could be there but will await your report. :) : Re:LOTR game on the way : Roz June 13, 2004, 02:59:20 AM That would be the MOST fun Ed - best get swimming whilst the water's still warm (across the pond)
: Re:LOTR game on the way : spudchee June 14, 2004, 06:52:48 AM Anyway whens this LOTR game spose to be cumin out?
: Re:LOTR game on the way : samwise16 June 14, 2004, 08:38:50 AM End of the year i thought
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 June 14, 2004, 01:13:23 PM I think it is going to be released here in the States in the Fall. I will keep tabs on it and post anything I find out here.
: Re:LOTR game on the way : savage727 November 09, 2004, 05:19:55 AM The new LOTR's game by EA is out for the PS2. I have not purchased it yet but the box and the demo the store had running look outstanding. :)
