Soooooooo I've never seen a whisper about this card Roz ... nice catch! ;D : Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 05:36:21 AM Erm
*feels sudden urge to justify spending" We need pics for the price guide right?? What on earth is that all about?? : Re:LOOK : Trey March 08, 2005, 05:36:50 AM Oh Roz your are too quick :(
: Re:LOOK : Trey March 08, 2005, 05:38:34 AM So why have we not seen or heard of these before? Im confused ???
: Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 05:39:29 AM OK OK I admit that I clicked it from MPC's link - BUT I did have an email from Tom with the link when I looked ;)
I'm just waiting for some info from Tom either saying that the 7th of March is the US version of April 1st before adding it to the price guide. ;) : Re:LOOK : ferdinand_the_yak March 08, 2005, 05:41:16 AM Ooo-er!
Nice 'un Roz! : Re:LOOK : Boggle March 08, 2005, 05:43:45 AM Crikey, that was still for sale when i looked just now!! ;D
: Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 05:45:51 AM Roz has itchy fingers! :P
: Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 05:46:00 AM (http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/10058985/Images/HBEST.jpg)
(http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/10058985/Images/HBESTS.jpg) This seems totally odd to me... first off - the only other card designed like this is the Dawn French one - and that's because she's a painting... they haven't cut round the edge of this execustioner guy... and he should be called "the guy who missed" Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm As the voodoo woman - know it all person in the Lion King would say "most peculiar". I'll let you knwo if I hear more - so far all he's said is that it was one auto that never made it into the wax boxes... but we never even heard of it on the auto list ANYWHERE so it's most interesting - if a little mad :P : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 05:46:44 AM To be honest, I don't think I would've messed about hitting the button on that one either! ::)
: Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 05:47:41 AM : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 05:48:53 AM I wonder why?
Perhaps they didn't get them back in time and hadn't got redemptions done for them either? Rats! Hope more appear so we can have a stab at nabbing one too. ;) : Re:LOOK : ferdinand_the_yak March 08, 2005, 05:49:02 AM Voodoo woman??????
It was a baboon, actually ::) Cripes, you HAVE been sacrificing your Disney movie duties, haven't you? : Re:LOOK : Morningangel-Iola March 08, 2005, 05:49:48 AM Erm *feels sudden urge to justify spending" We need pics for the price guide right?? What on earth is that all about?? Of course it was just for our benfit ;) : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 05:50:50 AM Why do I keep thinking of The Beatles original drummer when I hear Peter Best's name?
Is that who he is does anyone know? :o : Re:LOOK : kbmum March 08, 2005, 06:05:22 AM I'm just waiting for some info from Tom either saying that the 7th of March is the US version of April 1st before adding it to the price guide. Oh no, April 1st is April Fool's Day here, too! Good job, Roz, although the card is kind of creepy! : Re:LOOK : kbmum March 08, 2005, 06:11:58 AM Hey Nienna, looks like Roz isn't the only one here with a quick bidding finger! Congrats!
: Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 06:13:53 AM Hee hee - I wouldn't have thought so, they might have been able to get hold of a pic of "that Peter Best"
Tom has some more which automatically relist as the night goes on.... so keep an eye out - this search should bring it up http://search.ebay.com/HARRY-POTTER-UPDATE-PETER-BEST-THE-EXECUTIONER-AUTO_W0QQsojsZ1QQfromZR40 *feels sudden urge to justify spending" We need pics for the price guide right?? Of course it was just for our benfit ;) Of course Erm but miraculously I'm able to show you this despite having the card in hand ... http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/tradingcards/index.php?page=viewcard&card=229 : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 06:19:10 AM Thanks Cindy!
I struggled like mad to get it too ... took at least SIX attempts to sign in or get the page to refresh ... I reckon eBay have some problems at the moment but it certainly made for a nerve-wracking buy! LOL :P Thanks to Tom too for offering them in the first place! I somehow don't think he'll have many left this time tomorrow do you? ;D Keep refreshing his listing page Dawn as I'm sure he'll list more as the evening (or dead of night in our case) goes on. ;) Good Luck!! ;D : Re:LOOK : Morningangel-Iola March 08, 2005, 06:20:25 AM Ok lol
Are we sure he's not printing them himself lol : Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 06:20:58 AM There was another one that Jules has clinched the deal on - Tom has a handful - what Tom seems have is some listing software that lists one card after the other - he does this with all his trading cards as far as I can figure out - they are listed as near to one ending as the software can handle - he did it with Trilogy (LOTR) Jules and I were hanging on the edge of our seats to see if he had any more Arwen autos late one night :)
He should have a few more - not sure how many but not all that many : Re:LOOK : Morningangel-Iola March 08, 2005, 06:23:25 AM Thats naughty keeping you danging instead of putting them all on.
Right I think I shall leave you guys to it as Internet Explorer is playing up so shall leave it to its paddy on its own. Night all : Re:LOOK : ferdinand_the_yak March 08, 2005, 06:23:35 AM As intriguing as the release of this card is, I'm going to sit this one out... its a pretty creepy character to have, not sure I want him staring out at me from my collection :o
: Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 06:25:23 AM As intriguing as the release of this card is, I'm going to sit this one out... its a pretty creepy character to have, not sure I want him staring out at me from my collection :o Oh go on with you - it's a bit of interest in to brighten up the card scene for a while :D : Re:LOOK : ferdinand_the_yak March 08, 2005, 06:29:40 AM A hooded creepy guy who was going to CHOP OFF BUCKBEAK'S HEAD brightens things up for you? :o :o
You have some issues m'dear ;) : Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 06:42:58 AM You have some issues m'dear ;) Wochit Yak girl ;) Any more come up for auction? : Re:LOOK : Anna March 08, 2005, 06:45:04 AM Does anyone know how many Tom has of these?
: Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 06:47:25 AM Oh I dunno FTY ... think of the other scenes McNair will be playing in the upcoming films .... not exactly a bit-part he's got is it? :P
Hee hee .... yes we had a very late night/early morning with those Trilogy autograph auctions he ran didn't we Roz and boy did we buy some fab cards (and spend waaaaay too much in one sitting!) LOLOL ::) :o ;D ;D He didn't say how many he had, only that he had a 'limited amount' Anna. ;) Good Luck! ;D : Re:LOOK : Anna March 08, 2005, 06:48:58 AM Thanks Nienna! :)
: Re:LOOK : Trey March 08, 2005, 06:52:13 AM Do you think these are really limited or that there are a few about but they are just being distributed now to the dealers ???
: Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 06:54:50 AM I wonder why Artbox use people's descriptions rather than real names - like "the executioner" and "the choir conductor" instead of McNair and Flitwick - it's actually quite annoying!
You don't see "Legolas - token pretty elf" in the LOTR sets ::) *moan moan winge winge* - lol but I know I am not alone on this one - when I spoke to MPC about the Memorabilia set which had a second Choir conductor in he said "I would have taken some if it had been a "Flitwick auto"... and I couldn't agree with him more... : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 06:55:36 AM No idea and unless Tom drops by to tell us more we may never know for sure. :)
I think they are limited but we really need to know the numbers signed don't we? : Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 06:57:14 AM Information?? From Artbox?? Pull the other one ;)
: Re:LOOK : ferdinand_the_yak March 08, 2005, 06:57:56 AM Not so much a bit part Nienna, as that he is a pretty creepy character:o
You don't see "Legolas - token pretty elf" in the LOTR sets ::) >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( How rude... filthy human :P ( ;) ;D - Just kidding Roz please don't throw me off the forum :o) : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 07:11:55 AM Yes well, you have a point there Roz! :P
And I agree ... a completely nasty piece of works as we'd say round here FTY ... not someone to meet on a dark corner either! :o Poor Leggy ... being referred to as a 'token pretty elf' ... for shame on you Roz!! :o I don't think his autos would have the same appeal had that been written on them though, do you? ::) : Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 07:15:20 AM It was just an example folks - calm down calm down - I am as much as Legolas worshipper as the rest of you - well - except FTY of course - I don't have a SHRINE to him per se
: Re:LOOK : Anna March 08, 2005, 07:19:11 AM Hurray!
I got mine! ;D ;D ;D Now I can get back to work! ;) : Re:LOOK : Trey March 08, 2005, 07:20:43 AM Good on ya Anna! I was sitting on that one, I dont know whether to get one or not, it could be completely overpriced as they might start to show up on the market in a couple of days. If we had more clarity on it then I would get one : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 08, 2005, 07:21:53 AM You prefer the rugged good looks of that Ranger bloke don't you Roz? ;)
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO CONGRATS Anna!!!! ;D ;D ;D Well Done! ;D : Re:LOOK : kbmum March 08, 2005, 07:23:24 AM Oh I dunno FTY ... think of the other scenes McNair will be playing in the upcoming films .... not exactly a bit-part he's got is it? :P True, but there's no guarantee that that particular actor will be asked back for the other films. Plus his face is covered, so anyone could be hired for the part. : Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 07:24:45 AM Oh I dunno FTY ... think of the other scenes McNair will be playing in the upcoming films .... not exactly a bit-part he's got is it? :P True, but there's no guarantee that that particular actor will be asked back for the other films. Plus his face is covered, so anyone could be hired for the part. Like Voldermort perhaps? True : Re:LOOK : kbmum March 08, 2005, 07:29:26 AM Exactly what I was thinking.
: Re:LOOK : mcgonagall March 08, 2005, 07:48:18 AM All the good thing seem to happen when i go to bed ;D
: Re:LOOK : kbmum March 08, 2005, 07:58:32 AM Are you going to try for one, mcgonagall? I can't make up my mind.
: Re:LOOK : EmmasOneandOnly March 08, 2005, 08:00:42 AM Thats a really cool card.
: Re:LOOK : mcgonagall March 08, 2005, 08:06:04 AM I would love one and since I have just sold a pile of cards I can afford to get one
so maybe yes maybe no I have no idea right now I suppose if i am lucky to come across it i might ( sorry for sounding wishy washy I have the flu ) :-[ : Re:LOOK : Trey March 08, 2005, 08:07:56 AM I just got one :) after a long debate with myself
: Re:LOOK : ferdinand_the_yak March 08, 2005, 09:15:26 AM except FTY of course - I don't have a SHRINE to him per se *cough* I have all 5 Viggo autos and 3 costumes *cough* and I am not *cough* obsessed *cough* Been having a bit of a tickly throat lately ;) : Re:LOOK : mcgonagall March 08, 2005, 09:22:53 AM sends FTY soothers for the throat via owl post lmao
: The Executioner Auto : mcgonagall March 08, 2005, 10:40:31 AM : Re:The Executioner Auto : Nienna March 08, 2005, 03:07:55 PM COOL!!
Nice to see he's selling them for the same price as Tom was earlier too! ;D ;D He'll sell those fairly quickly I reckon, once people get a chance to 'see' them up for grabs on eBay. ;) : Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 03:59:10 PM He hee - good point FTY
Well the point is that these cards are NOT going into packs - so they will all appear in the market place at once and then disappear until people resell them etc... so although there will be a flood now of Tom and a few other dealers they will dry up relatively quickly I should think - but we will have to wait and see... Most people don't realise it's out there yet! : Re:The Executioner Auto : Roz March 08, 2005, 04:00:23 PM And with this guy you get a HP base set - although to be fair then you have to pay postage on the base set which is probably not cheap internationally.
And I do already have 130 ish base sets ... Hmmmmmm ;D : Re:LOOK : Morningangel-Iola March 08, 2005, 05:35:12 PM I wonder why Artbox use people's descriptions rather than real names - like "the executioner" and "the choir conductor" instead of McNair and Flitwick - it's actually quite annoying! I think maybe its how they were titled in the film. We all know it was Flitwick but they never actually said it was (what had happened to his hair! :-\) I suppose its the same with the executioner. Although altough the costume card has Cedric Digory on it, and I don't think he got a name check either. Although I think its someone completely different playing him in GOF when we diffinately will know who he is. : Re:LOOK : Tower March 08, 2005, 06:34:39 PM Hmmm. Both sellers use exactly the same picture for all of their auctions. Hmmm. ::) A stolen pic or the same seller or some other reason? Hmmm. ???
: Re:LOOK : Roz March 08, 2005, 07:13:00 PM The front side of the picture was sent to dealers when they partook in the offer... BUT I am not sure about the back - maybe they only scanned the back??
: Re:The Executioner Auto : Nienna March 08, 2005, 08:52:59 PM Whaaaat?!! You don't want another set to add to your collection?? ??? *looks horrorstruck*
Nope? Me neither! LOL :P I'm sure the shipping for the base set will bump up the total quite a bit internationally and even though it's an excellent offer, I'm perfectly happy with the one I've already paid for thanks!! ;D : Re:The Executioner Auto : kbmum March 08, 2005, 08:58:04 PM There are a few sellers who add base sets to an auction. Even if it's a US seller shipping within the US, I've had to pay one or two dollars more than if I got just the one insert.
If you really want another one, you could ask the seller if he/she could just ship the card. : Re:The Executioner Auto : Roz March 08, 2005, 09:07:11 PM Yes of course - I am just teasing. I am thinking of Mark's kitchen table with all the odd and sod cards I need to sort out and see what we need for any final sets.
Please if anyone needs ANY BASE CARDS AT ALL - just let me know and they'll be on their way.... : Re:The Executioner Auto : Nienna March 08, 2005, 09:10:38 PM Another one? Nah ... I'm not greedy, I've bought one and I'm happy to leave it at that. :)
We end up paying a small fortune here on shipping stuff from the States and I suspect some sellers make a fair bit of profit on what they charge for these international transactions. Many get away with it because most of us here aren't familiar with how much we should be paying ... there's UK sellers who are just as bad with overcharging and you'll find that's the case no matter where you are. I love the Global Priority mailers you have .... I know what to expect if my item has been sent in one of those and exactly how much it costs with no last-minute surprises ... brilliant! Besides, I want to get hold of a Ginny Weasley auto card and they're proving tricky to find and win on auction at the moment. ;) : Re:The Executioner Auto : Anna March 08, 2005, 09:23:42 PM Besides, I want to get hold of a Ginny Weasley auto card and they're proving tricky to find and win on auction at the moment. ;) I do have a spare one if you're interested Nienna. :) : Re:The Executioner Auto : Nienna March 08, 2005, 09:25:45 PM PM on it's way Anna! ;) ;D
: Re:The Executioner Auto : kbmum March 08, 2005, 10:18:23 PM Please if anyone needs ANY BASE CARDS AT ALL - just let me know and they'll be on their way.... It's kind of sad that there are so many update base sets, we're having a hard time giving them away. :-\ I gave my daughter her first base set yesterday, and we had a blast putting them in an album. When we were done, she looked up at me with the sweetest face and asked, "Are there any Sorcerer's Stone cards?" When I told her that they were coming out at the end of April, she got so excited you'd think Christmas was around the corner. Just what we need -- two collectors in the house! :D : Re:LOOK : kbmum March 08, 2005, 10:30:34 PM As of right now, there are 8 left!
http://search.ebay.com/potter-executioner_W0QQsojsZ1QQfromZR40 : Re:The Executioner Auto : ztaylork March 08, 2005, 10:31:23 PM So has anyone said exactly how dealers got these cards? The say they got them for every 10 sets they bought, but 10 sets of what?
ztaylork : Re:LOOK : Anna March 08, 2005, 10:40:24 PM As of right now, there are 8 left! http://search.ebay.com/potter-executioner_W0QQsojsZ1QQfromZR40 The last two auctions (yet another seller) have 2 available each. So that's 10 left (for now anyways). : Re:LOOK : kbmum March 08, 2005, 10:43:18 PM Oops, I missed that. I'd love to know the story behind the card -- why there were no redemptions.
: New autograph card : LikORish-Spider March 08, 2005, 11:57:39 PM Peter Best as the Executioner:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6160988649&rd=1 Not an endorsement, just to show you how it looks. Anyone know more?? : Re:LOOK : Roz March 09, 2005, 12:02:05 AM There's lots of them on now ;) nearly as many as there are peartrees if you include closed auctions too ;)
: Re:LOOK : ztaylork March 09, 2005, 12:07:22 AM This stinks in my opinion. The collectors are the ones that should be getting these cards from artbox to try and make up for all the dud boxes out there. They should have sent this card radomly out with the other redemptions, or if you send in a redemption card of all three from the update, you were awarded the fourth card. Instead the dealers are getting a card that they are getting $50 out of, and should be worth much less. We don't have any info as to how many this guy signed, he could have sent back 500 to artbox and they are going to be flooded shortly, we don't know. Everyone spending $50 might kick themselves in a week, when they really get flooded and you can get them for $15. Is Peter Best anyone of importance? (forgive my ignorance if he is some acclaimed British stage actor or something else that I have no idea about) I just wish artbox realized what they are doing to the collectors.
ztaylork : Re:LOOK : Roz March 09, 2005, 12:13:02 AM They should have sent this card radomly out with the other redemptions, or if you send in a redemption card of all three from the update, you were awarded the fourth card. Right now Zach I'd appreciate them to get me a Pam Ferris auto for the redemption I sent in - neverlo a Peter Best one too :( P.S. - They will never be that good to us :-\ : Re:LOOK : mcgonagall March 09, 2005, 01:42:55 AM The more i think about it the madder i am getting :-\.
Why is it that dealers are getting this card they have receive rewards for buying so many cases of cards already . Yet here is artbox rewarding them for it again. And who misses out the sellers I wish the head of artbox took the sellers into account and not just the dealers : Re:LOOK : Tower March 09, 2005, 02:00:53 AM We all know that the big dealers lost much money with this Update set. Maybe it's just a way from Artbox to say sorry, to give the dealers a chance to get some money back. ::) It's absolutely unusual to produce a single card much more later. It wasn't the plan from the beginning, i am sure. I really think so, Artbox says sorry to the big dealers, this card is a gift. Because they need the dealers for the next sets. What do you think? Is it nonsense?
: Re:LOOK : kbmum March 09, 2005, 02:09:53 AM Actually, it does make sense. If Artbox knew the signed cards would eventually come back, they would have used redemption cards.
: Re:LOOK : mcgonagall March 09, 2005, 02:10:05 AM and what about all the people that got dud boxes and the people that brought cases of cards but aren't dealers
where s there card. I complained to artbox about getting a dud box with and explained in the email what my box contained exactly and i am still waiting for a reply : Re:LOOK : Sharon March 09, 2005, 02:13:14 AM As a 'double dud boxer' I should be miffed about this card.
But as I have just bought it and it is my first auto I am sooo happy :) :) : Re:LOOK : Anna March 09, 2005, 02:15:48 AM As a 'double dud boxer' I should be miffed about this card. But as I have just bought it and it is my first auto I am sooo happy :) :) Congratulations on your very first auto card! ;D : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 09, 2005, 02:48:01 AM Wooo Hooo!! Your very first auto card!! Excellent! ;D ;D
Welcome to the Auto Card Owner's Club Sharon! ;) ;D : Re:LOOK : Tower March 09, 2005, 02:49:43 AM My first Auto card was the one i pulled out of my first case. A Stan Shunpike. :P
: Re:LOOK : Sharon March 09, 2005, 02:55:40 AM Thanks Nienna. I am on the slippery slope now.
I will aim to do a 'Tower' with the SS and get one in a box ;D. Actually thinking about the last set I will be happy to get anything in the box!!!ha ha : Re:LOOK : Tower March 09, 2005, 03:01:30 AM No, i remember wrong. I bought a few auto cards from the first set before my first case. I think, the Neville was the first auto card. :)
: Re:LOOK : kbmum March 09, 2005, 05:50:05 AM As a 'double dud boxer' I should be miffed about this card. You bought two boxes and both were duds? I hope you've signed the petition and made a comment, too! : Re:LOOK : Roz March 15, 2005, 03:12:20 PM OOh ooh - here I am in the UK - so cards take ages to get here, but who should turn up this morning? But Peter Best - the executioner :)
And a bundle of exciting promos, 2 VERY exciting ones, but I want to check Tom put them in all his peter best packages before telling you about them. : Re:LOOK : mcgonagall March 15, 2005, 03:26:37 PM damn i knew i should have blown my budget and got one of those cards
: Re:LOOK : Nienna March 15, 2005, 03:28:51 PM Mine has arrived safely this morning too!! ;D
I'll email you with all the details of the other items Tom sent a bit later Roz. I'm sure you'll still be able to get one if you really wanted one mcG! ;) : Re:LOOK : Roz March 15, 2005, 03:29:04 PM OK the 2 very exciting ones (to me) are the Sorcerers Stone P1 and P2.
Hats off to Tom for sharing the promos out like they should be. And adding value for us lot that bought from Tom ;) :D Just call me "Chuffed of Cambridge" : Re:LOOK : Nienna March 15, 2005, 03:33:22 PM .... and me ... "Delighted of Derby!" ;D ;D
Thanks once again to Tom!! ;D : Re:LOOK : Roz March 15, 2005, 07:05:37 PM That means I now have 5 packs of Transformers stickers for Adam as well Jules, he'll have a full set in minutes at this rate ;)

Here's hoping for MPC that it sells :) : Re:LOOK : Morningangel-Iola March 18, 2005, 05:24:14 AM I'm confused between Hermiones Coat and scarf though ???
: Re:LOOK : Trey March 18, 2005, 05:48:21 AM WOW.....geez if I was rich then I would buy that no problems :D
: Re:LOOK : Anna March 18, 2005, 06:52:13 AM I'm confused between Hermiones Coat and scarf though ??? It is confusing! ??? Some sellers refer to the card as her jumper (sweater), scarf, or coat. Since Artbox never released an official list of costume names, people just guess as to where the swatch came from. : Re:LOOK : EmmasOneandOnly March 18, 2005, 06:55:27 AM Looks like it came from the sweater from under her coat???
