: Did you know.....

This probably so well known that everyone will giggle when they read this.  But I didn't know.

I have just put in a scarrrrry bid on Daniel Radcliffe auto (well it made me sweat).  Ebay came back and said reserve not met, which I was sort of expecting.  But the current bid is still 99p.  I though it would have put my bid with reserve not met by it.

Well you live and learn.

The bid price won't go up to the reserve price until someone places a bid that meets or exceeds the reserve.

I am not normally as obsessed as this, but I am getting really miffed with this aution.

It now says £72.00 reserve not met.  In the bid history I am the highest bidder but my highest bid was considerably more than this.

Where do they get £72 from. ???  I know I have more chance of being in the next film than I do of affording a big auto but things like this really annoy me.

Kbmums explanation made total sense and I was happy.  Now I am just confused :(

Someone must have bid £71, they didn't meet the reserve either but your bid held out over theirs so you are still highest bidder.... am I making any sense here?

Yes that does make sense but why, when the reserve was not met, does the aution not show my top bid so that other people know how much extra they need to bid?

I think this one is just going to stay on my watch list; if they are holding out for the buy it now price I think it will stay in their collection!

Never mind who wanted a Daniel Radcliff auto anyway sniff sniff :'(

I was bidding on an auction where the same thing you're going through kept happening.  Finally when it was minutes before the auction end and it still said Reserve Not Met, I began entering bids until I finally reached the reserve right at the end of the auction and won it.  The sellers reserve wasn't really that high considering the card it was and I managed to get the card at a reasonable price.

The card was my update Hermione Pink Top dirty variant w/ stitch holes that I won for $39.99. ;D  This was when this same card went for $59.95 and $68.50 in the 2 previous auctions.

I think the other bidders got discouraged when the reserve wasn't being met and gave up on the card.  Luckily I didn't.

So don't give up hope Sharon, you still may get the card yet!  ;)

A dirty top for $39.99!!!  I am so jealous.  I paid just shy of £50 from Collector Zone but am still happy I got it.  You don't actually see that many around and after missing the gorgeous Fizzing Whizzbees varients I would have been choked not to get this.

I have actually put in my top bid already.  I am not a great lover of autos; I prefer props and costumes.  I think it was just a panic bid cos I do eventually want a full set (ha ha) and can see all spare cash going on the next sets before I finish these ;D
