Wallace and Gromit Curse of Ware Rabbit Sti-Cards by Cards inc

It's 'vege-mania' in Wallace and Gromit's neighbourhood, and our two
enterprising chums are cashing in with their humane pest-control outfit,
"Anti-Pesto." With only days to go before the annual Giant Vegetable
Competition, business is booming, but Wallace & Gromit are finding out that
running a "humane" pest control outfit has its drawbacks as their West Wallaby
Street home fills to the brim with captive rabbits. Suddenly, a huge,
mysterious, veg-ravaging 'beast' begins attacking the town's sacred vegetable
plots at night, and the competition hostess, Lady Tottington, commissions
Anti-Pesto to catch it and save the day. Lying in wait however is Lady
Tottington's snobby suitor, Victor Quartermaine, who'd rather shoot the beast
and secure the position of local hero-not to mention Lady Tottingon's hand in
marriage. With the fate of the competition in the balance, Lady Tottington is
eventually forced to allow Victor, to hunt down the vegetable chomping
marauder. Little does she know that his real intent could have dire
consequences for her...and our two heroes.

Joining Peter Sallis (the voice of Wallace), are some of the UK's most
versatile and talented actors, including Helena Bonham Carter ("Planet of the
Apes") as the voice of beautiful and wealthy spinster, Lady Companula
Tottington, Ralph Fiennes ("English Patient") as the proud and pompous, Lord
Victor Quartermaine, comedian Peter Kay ("Phoenix Nights") as P.C
Mackintosh.Wallace and Gromit - Curse of the WereRabbit is a Dreamworks/Aardman
Production, written by Nick Park and directed by Nick Park and Steve Box.
Executive Producer is Jeffrey Katzenberg and it is produced by Peter Lord, Nick
Park and David Sproxton. The film will be distributed in the UK and Ireland by
United International Pictures.


Cards Inc presents a new way to collect both trading cards and stickers -
Sticards.

Sticards are both cards and sticker on one item, Peel the sticker off to put on
the sticker page and then put the card into the binder part of the album, 2
pictures for on one card !

I would be interested to know if many Yak Shackers across the world (Aus, US etc) have heard of Wallace and Gromit - obviously Sara has - are they very prolific in the US? Was the "Cracking Contraptions" series released there?

I've heard of them, but never actually watched any of the episodes.

Well so far there have been 2 DVDs, the first has the 3 30 miute adventures on them, and then they released the "Cracking Contraptions" DVDs - a series of animated shorts (10 I think) which were produced whilst they were training the new aardman wallace and gromit animators up - the DVD was only ever available on the website and not through any distributor (in the UK at least) and so the price of that DVD is mad

However I believe Aardman will be releasing the shorts on the web later this year so although the quality will be lower it's a lot cheaper ;)

Definitely something fun to watch, I don't know what you will think of it in  2005, but I first saw it around 1995 ish and fell in love instantly.

It's all very exciting, it's a retail-esque set with stickers, pvc playable stickers and trading cards in every pack , Darren says "it looks great" - so he must be pleased with it.

There's going to be an issue of "the Sun" newspaper in the UK on the 29th of September with an offer of free packs and a sheet of 6 stickers. Apparently (I'm not sure what date) there will be a free binder in the News of the World so let's keep our eye peeled :)

Of course I saw it :) I loved all of the adventures, but I think Wrong pants really does it for me - the evil chicken-penguin :rofl:

I haven't seen Wallace & Gromit but my kids love Chicken Run.  It's by the same guys, right?

It is indeed - well spotted, I'll add that to the title so that the Aardman uninitiated audience might get interested. The chicken run was great, but it's nothing on W&G.

Mini history as far as I know it - the first  Wallace and Gromit minifilm was the College project of a very self-effacing chap called Nick Park (he's one of the biggest, coolest, most loved people here in the UK but if you met him at a bus stop and chatted to him and didn't know his face you'd NEVER get a whiff of how much he has achieved).

He worked on Wallace and Gromit - a grand day out - by himself for 2 years solid and at the end of it had only done 10 minutes worth. He got a job with Aardman and after a while they let him continue with "a grand day out" on company time. The film was first shown on the BBC one Christmas about 17 years ago. It was magnificent, and the British population went mad (followed by Japan, but that's another story), not long afterwards 2 more films were made "The Wrong Trousers" (ex-NASA ;)) which was wonderful too and is a favourite with lots of people (Ferdinand the yak and Mak The Yak from this board for instance), however the final of the 3 films - "a close shave" is my favourite - I don't want to say much because it may give away the fun, all 3 (30 minute) films come on one DVD for a very reasonable price and I'd not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Whilst watching "a grand day out" please remember it's the early days and they are still perfecting their techniques :)

I see on the American Aardman website they sell chocolate brown tee shirts saying "Mrs Gromit" - but that's because Gromit is no ordinary dog! He reads books such as "electronics for Dogs" and is really the hero of the whole piece.
