It was fun reading all the guesses about thefuture value of the Pear Leaf card. Remember when they were $400 or $500? There is one on ebay now for sale by mpc.

But why pear tree why not whomping willow. Cant remeber the pear tree doing a lot in the film  ::)

That's why the leaves are so rare.  It didn't do much, so it didn't drop as many leaves. ;)

Lol I see, where as whomping willow leaves should be everywhere because its not fussy where it drops them. Funny I don't recall seeing one.

I did think the seasons on the Whomping willow in POA where very good.

I've got a pear tree how much do you think people will pay for one of my leaves :P

In fact the price guide has the low down on every peartree sold on ebay (except perhaps the last one - not sure if that went in yet) so if you really want to know it's worth you can track it.

Yeah I did have a look yesterday. I can say with 100% certainty this is one card which will never be in my collection.

Ok I'm wrong there is a whomping willow card, although 172 sure there should be more. £150 is still too expensive for me  ::)

I wonder if we could all part own a bit of the more expensive ones like they do with race horses lol :P

Wow... holy toledo! I can't believe that he is selling it for that much. Has anyone seen anyone buy it for anything close? That's just crazy!

About the whomping willow..... isn't that just a CGI effect tree??? I always wondered where the leaves came from if it's CGI?? Can someone confirm this?

And I do believe the willow would be more valuable since I can't remember what seen the pear tree was even in.

One last question...... where do you see a value guide for these cards? PLEASE!

How would you get one of these cards. I read some where that they are not in the boxes are they ???

I thought that they were the rarest "pack pullable" card.

Anyway here is a picture of mine. Number 28. I keep it in a screwdown card holder.
It keeps the drool off of it.

They were a dealer case incentive.  You'd either have to get one from a dealer or the secondary market.

No no, definitely not pack pullable.

Lik O Rish Spiders is the rarest pack pullable card :) and it's one of my favourites.

And owners of peartrees will agree with me (I suspect) that the Peartree is FAR nicer than the Whomping Willow. The peartree contains a waxy sort of prop leaf, Chris used to say he had a bubble in his that he could press and it would fill up again (neither of the 2 I owned at one time 15 and 18 ever did that).

Whereas the Whomping Willow is FABRIC.....???

I had never touched the swatch on my card before, but now you made me do it.  It is fabric but has a texture to it.  Plus it's got some kind of coating on it that makes it a little shiny.  Somehow I feel that I've been ripped off! :(

Maybe.  The pear tree leaves are all green, but the Whomping Willow has different colors depending upon the season.  It's possible that affected the choice of material.  Is there a difference in material between the different colors of leaves?

The pear tree's not an evergreen ;)

It's a bit hard to say what your collection is worth.  One complete base set for POA1 is probably in the $5-$10 range and the update base set is less than $5.  The R foils are maybe $5 and the box toppers are that or less.

As for the chase cards, it depends on the swatch.  For example, the divination prop with a plain fabric swatch sells for less than one that has embroidery and/or sequins.

If you want to place a value on your collection, Mike suggested you try the price guide.  You can click on the links to various auctions and if a card is a variant, it will be noted in the listing.

Just to let you know, this particular thread is about pear tree leaves cards.  If you can't find a thread that matches the subject about which you'd like to write, you can start your own thread. :)

People really had no idea how successful the Potter sets would be!

Good luck with the sale; I know you got caught with the update and this might make up for it a bit  :).  I still think somewhere out there is a variant with a custard splodge on though  ;)

The reason I thought this was quite good was that it was BIN so you know exactly how much you need to spend.  I havn't seen many Pear Trees up like this.  Sorry I should have put that in  :D
