Did someone mention Artbox. : Re:X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak February 26, 2005, 04:21:25 AM I might be interested in this set - I just got into the X Files (2 years after the last season - late bloomer, I know ::)) But its so cool watching all the box sets - no cliffhangers for me! ;D But I went to have a look at this - it lools fantastic! Inkworks is so thorough with their product description and apart from the TBA autos (hopes for Mulder and Scully autos!) I couldn't really ask for more!
: Re:X-Files Connections May 2005 : Eve March 01, 2005, 10:52:31 PM I'd love another chance at a Gillian Anderson autograph. Maybe now that Duchovny isn't doing much he'll sign ::)
I'm sure this will be a great set in the "Connections" tradition. : Re:X-Files Connections May 2005 : Angels April 01, 2005, 11:43:43 PM Here is the latest info, including the autos at 1 per box :D :D. Still no DD though :'( :'( :'( :'(.

What are you trying to do to me Angie, I've never bought X-Files sets before ;)
See you tomorrow! P.S. Yes imagine if we knew everything about Potter SS set already ::) dream on - it's not printed yet that's for sure! : Re:X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak April 02, 2005, 04:48:23 AM Ooooh! A signed Scully piecework! :o At the top of my list with a Scully auto and a Krycek one as well ;)
But I wish Duchovny would sign... :'( :'( : Re:X-Files Connections May 2005 : saruman April 07, 2005, 01:39:25 AM ya the Skully auto-costume card will deff be the one to get from this set.why won't david sign though it makes no sense although with the new movie they are hoping to make hopefully there will be another card set and he will sign for that one.imagine a dual auto :o ..........sadly i think not though :'(
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Angels May 08, 2005, 02:44:39 PM A lot of these cards are now showing up on eBay as pre orders for later this month. The Scully and Mulder pieceworks are going for around $25 and the auto cards (except for Gish and Anderson) are going for about $20 each. Not too bad but I should be saving for the new HP cards.
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz May 08, 2005, 02:52:27 PM Yes this is going to be a VERY busy month for you :)
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : saruman May 08, 2005, 06:16:38 PM ya i'd like to get some cards from this series aswell mainly the costume cards although i do have a mulder one from another series so i hope they match :o= i wonder what the rate on the skully suto-costume card will be
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak June 19, 2005, 06:57:11 PM I almost bought the Scully autographed piecework on pre-sale but chickened out at the last moment.... I decided that $220 was too much to pay for a card I did not even know what it looked like...
And its selling for $450+ now :'( Here's the only pic of one I have seen... all other sellers are selling the redemption card (http://i4.ebayimg.com/04/i/04/4c/af/38_1_b.JPG) What do we think?[ : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz June 19, 2005, 07:54:56 PM Oh that's the bees knees that is
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak June 19, 2005, 07:59:50 PM Pretty, yes, but for $450, I could buy a nice Weta piece...
Now THAT is an idea! ;D : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : saruman June 19, 2005, 08:02:03 PM :o
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak October 21, 2005, 05:21:12 AM Has anyone collected this set at all?
I'm thinking of getting the base and insert sets (not the autos/PW cards - I'll get a couple of auto cards seperately). : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : robwaddle October 21, 2005, 06:50:55 AM Has anyone collected this set at all? I'm thinking of getting the base and insert sets (not the autos/PW cards - I'll get a couple of auto cards seperately). I'm slowly working towards a set (minus Gillian Andersons auto & auto/piecework). They're very nice cards. If you only want bits of it, I'd strongly recommend you buy a full set of the parallels on ebay. I reckon you'd need to open at least 3 boxes to get a complete parallel set. Rob ;D : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak October 21, 2005, 08:44:02 AM Cool, thanx for the advice Rob, I'm going to go for a Scully auto (not the auto-PW) as I like the look of the card better than the PW...
I'll post a pic o the card if I manage to get one ::) - wish me luck ;D : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz October 21, 2005, 03:08:55 PM I do appreciate the "X shaped" idea with the aperture of the piecework cards although it does leave you feeling a little cheated on fabric don't you think?
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak October 24, 2005, 04:55:07 AM I thought that as well about the swatch size... ah well. :(
The auto/PW is still going strong :P http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6570180319&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT Don't think I am going to get one of those any time soon :o : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak November 15, 2005, 09:44:29 PM I opened my first box of this and got a Donny Pfaster auto... freaky guy :o
Looks like I will have to get my Krycek auto on Ebay :( : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz November 15, 2005, 09:59:13 PM Awwwwwwwwwww what a pain - how are the prices settling Jo? They seem to be settling quite high from the pieceworks auto point of view, but what about Krycheck? Was it just one auto and nothing else per box, did you not get a costume card too?
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak November 16, 2005, 07:06:06 AM It was only one auto, but the base cards were stunning!
I'll be getting another couple of boxes hopefully... but if I get him again I will cry :( : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak November 22, 2005, 12:54:32 PM Got my last 2 boxes from Tomunique - was pretty happy overall!
Box 1: Bruce Harwood as John Byers Scully Piecework PW-1 Box 2: Annabeth Gish as Monica Reyes ;D ;D ;D (second rarest auto in the set, and a very good looking one too) So 2 inserts in the one box and a premium auto in the other - I am pretty happy overall! ;D Pix from my 3 box haul: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/ferdinand_the_yak/Photo011.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/ferdinand_the_yak/Photo013.jpg) And some of the base cards... hope you can get an idea of the foil look - really nice! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/ferdinand_the_yak/Photo016.jpg) : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz January 25, 2006, 09:41:03 PM Well, I took my time guys - lol I know but I finally got a case of this!!!
Breakdown (12 box case not 10 ;)) Case Loader Foil (what a surprise eh??) Scully Pieceworks x 2 Mulder Pieceworks x 4 Mulders Secret Files set (of 9) - x2 Informants Box Topper Sets (of 3) x 4 (perfect collation!!) Haunting Cases set (of 6) x 2 And now for the really juicy stuff A1 (redemption) - Scully YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH A3 D Fowley A4 Fag Man  A5 J Spender A6 Krycek (is that an auto or was he signing mine on the train?) A7 Frohike x2 A8 Byers A9 Langly x2 A10 Pfaster A11 C Spender I was pretty pleased. I have another case en route to try and get that Gish (I'm not sure if I'm going to look for the Scully PW also), but one thing to note guys is that officially the redemptions for this set are now out of date. How ridiculous is that? This set eventually released in June '05 and the redemptions went out of date in November. They will redeem them at this time, but I think a 6 month redemption validity is pretty poor. I have sent off all my LOST redemptions - are they only 6 months also? : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : saruman January 25, 2006, 10:50:46 PM WOW go you on the Scully auto. i of course not have you (almost up to season 5 now, soon the prize of watching the most x-files in the shortest period of time will be mine......muwha ha ha ha)
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz January 25, 2006, 11:25:43 PM No, you already have the prize. I thought I was watching fast and I'm still at the start of season 3!!
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak January 26, 2006, 05:04:16 AM I watched all 9 seasons in 9 months... you'll have to work hard ;)
Roz - which wonderful, lovely, charming and kind hearted person pointed you in the direction of that fabulous case? You should give them a medal ;) : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz January 28, 2006, 08:40:39 PM It was a good case - all the odds fitted perfectly - 6 costumes (2 Scully, 4 Mulder) and an auto in every box. You have to smile at that.
However... things went decidedly downhill last night when I opened the second case. I got both these cases from the same, reputable seller, the seal was in tact on the case as well as on all the boxes... but experts please cast your eye over this break. CL1 (he hee) Scully PW x1 Mulder PW x2 A3 D Fowley A4 Cancer Man A5 J Spender A6 Krycek (a marginally better auto than the last one) A7 Frohike A8 Byers A9 Langly A10 Pfaster x3 A11 C Spender For those of you keeping tally ON AVERAGE a case should contain 6 Pieceworks, it's fair enough if you get 5 or 7... but to get 3 is well below par. I don't think they guarantee 6 per case but I think it's pretty out of order to get 3! And for those of you noticing the autos, well there was no Scully (but I got one in the last case) no scully piecework :( and no Gish :( and worst of all - only 11 autos in 12 boxes. (Inkworks are supposed to guarantee 1 auto per box - does anyone know what they are like on this?). And to get 3 of the same auto is a bit annoying too. This is a very bad case, I don't know quite what to do now. I wanted to complete this set, but the case was so rubbish I haven't the heart to save up for another :( : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Anna January 28, 2006, 08:59:32 PM (Inkworks are supposed to guarantee 1 auto per box - does anyone know what they are like on this?). And to get 3 of the same auto is a bit annoying too. This is a very bad case, I don't know quite what to do now. I wanted to complete this set, but the case was so rubbish I haven't the heart to save up for another :( Write to Inkworks about what you pulled from your cases. They'll need to know the box number that was missing the pieceworks card and who you purchased the cases from. I'm sure Sue in their customer service department can help you out, she usually responds within one working day. :) : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz January 28, 2006, 09:09:21 PM Ahh, maybe she's the same Sue that replied (kindly and helpfully) when I wrote about my LOST redemptions (I got panicky that it was 2 and a half weeks since I had posted them and they weren't showing up as delivered on the royal mail site! They were insured but I couldn't bear to lose them all the same, as it turned out they had received them on the exact day I wrote!).
Thanks Anna, I'll drop her an email :) I have all the boxes back in Cambridge so I can find out the codes no probs :) maybe the case number (if there is one) would help since the pieceworks are supposed to be one ever 2 boxes :) I'll get in touch. : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Anna January 28, 2006, 09:12:26 PM Good luck Roz. :o=
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : DaveH January 29, 2006, 03:52:43 AM Sounds like the case I had. :(
There is no guarentee that you get a Gish auto, Scully auto/auto-pieceworck in a case. But three pieceworks cards is a bit low. Dave. : Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : ferdinand_the_yak January 29, 2006, 03:56:59 AM Bad luck on the second case Roz :( I had high hopes after your first case. I would definitely get in touch with Inkworks about the missing 3 pieceworks, I am sure they would be very helpful :)
: Re: X-Files Connections May 2005 : Roz January 29, 2006, 05:13:52 PM There is no guarentee that you get a Gish auto, Scully auto/auto-pieceworck in a case. But three pieceworks cards is a bit low. No of course not, but 11 autos in 12 boxes is also a bit low too! I just meant I was hoping for one of the three ;) None of this should distract us from how fab this set is though, pieceworks of the 2 major characters, autos from 11 of the best, and Jo's earlier posts show the richness of the base set ;D I think I must just have got like the last case made or something and maybe the machine only had 11 autos and 3 PW left ;) Or if it was windows operated - it crashed and gave another case 13 autos and 9 pieceworks... now I just need to find that case  |
