: Rosmerta in POA : Morningangel-Iola February 24, 2005, 07:01:34 AM What do you think of the portrayal (eek can't spell) in the film?
I always thought Madam R was more glam. I'm sure I remeber glittery stiletoes in one of the books. Also has it on the lexicon that she's a curvey sort of woman. I wouldn't say Julie Christie is curvey. Mind you mouning murtle seemed to lose an awful lot of weight between the book and the film :-\ One does wonder if Madam maxine will be a size 10! : Re:Rosmerta in POA : ferdinand_the_yak February 24, 2005, 09:09:36 AM Definitely - the stilettos were in PoA when Harry was hiding underneath the table at the Three Broomsticks after the teachers walked in.
I guess there are alot of points in the movies that deviate from the book, like Sirius/Padfoot which was meant to be the size of a small bear - the way he was portrayed in the movies didn't make it look like he could take on a werewolf (James and Sirius were meant to be transformed into something that could control Lupin...). And the Patronus was never stag shaped AT ALL, nor were the Map's creators ever explained or revealed. All of these 3 would have been easy to put in, it puzzles me why they did not... and ho JKR was happy to let it slip - I am sure she had some final say in post production! Don't even get me STARTED on the changes in the LOTR movies!!! :) But the movies were great all the same :) : Re:Rosmerta in POA : Morningangel-Iola February 24, 2005, 09:51:07 PM Luckily I wont go into LOTR. POA is my favourite of the storys (and the films) but I was dissapointed by what was left out and missed. Didn't we see the stag? I thought we did maybe I'm just confused. Even if we did it was never explained. As for the werewolf was the oddest one I have ever seen. Mind you not that I go out looking for werewolves, although Lupin ;) lol.
: Re:Rosmerta in POA : ferdinand_the_yak February 25, 2005, 04:32:07 AM I just got the impression from the books that the Patronus charged out of the wand stag shaped an chased the Dementors away, but in the movie it was just a cloud of silver... we saw the stag at the end, but I don't see why they could not have done that in the first place :P
: Re:Rosmerta in POA : Morningangel-Iola February 25, 2005, 04:39:18 AM The scene with the boys and the sweets while amusing the time could have been much better spent explaning some things. And the whole Sir Gadungan scene was cut (the cards got it though ;) )
