They give you a complete listing of artists AND exactly how many sketches each drew AND a scan of each sketch A MONTH BEFORE the release date of the product! I'm always amazed at how well Inkworks and Rittenhouse communicate their product to collectors through their web site. Hey Topps and Artbox, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE SELLING POWER OF A WELL MAINTAINED AND INFORMATIVE WEB SITE! Maybe they always keep everything a secret until all the checks have cleared because they know how dissappointing their offerings are. Mark : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Roz February 12, 2005, 07:05:35 PM :)
They do look awesome. I received a surprise letter from an old friend in the States this morning (she's retired so no longer has access to the net to email), and there was an advert for Rodney COpperbottom and ROBOTS on the postmark - that's cool. We don't get movie ads on postmarks here but we got one for the Two Towers which was COOOOL : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : ferdinand_the_yak February 12, 2005, 07:17:46 PM Its great to see Warren Martineck's work there - and his cards look fantastic!
Not that the rest aren't as well though :) : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Trey February 17, 2005, 04:55:40 AM I really love the coloured ones, they are great!!
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : sketchqueen February 19, 2005, 06:50:33 PM Inkworks is having a contest to win some of the sketch cards from Robots!! Check out :
http://www.inkworks.com/contest/robots/index.html and, please follow the rules :) : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Eve February 21, 2005, 03:18:22 AM I have never been too big of a fan of sketch cards, but I love these!
I'm getting a box or two simply for the sketches. I hope the movie is good. : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Trey March 08, 2005, 09:19:59 AM Did anyone end up getting boxes? If you have post some pics here, or let us know what number so we can go to the inkworks site and take a look, I would love to see what cards you got! I have seen some sketch cards up on ebay already and they look great!!
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : kbmum March 08, 2005, 08:51:27 PM I just took a look on eBay and all I can say is WOW! These look great. I check out quite a few, and I don't think there's a bad sketch in the bunch. It certainly puts some other recent sketches to shame!
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Roz March 08, 2005, 09:10:08 PM Absoloutely - in the link sketchqueen posted you can see ALL the sketches that went in the set - Inkworks always seem to scan them in as a record - it shows pride in what they are doing - not like others I could mention *ahem* Topps Star Wars Heritage *ahem*.
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Eve March 16, 2005, 12:29:49 AM Did anyone end up getting boxes? If you have post some pics here, or let us know what number so we can go to the inkworks site and take a look, I would love to see what cards you got! I have seen some sketch cards up on ebay already and they look great!! I just got two sketch cards off of ebay. The pictures did not do the cards justice, they're really gorgeous. I got Tone Rodriguez #465 & Mark Dos Santos #342. I haven't seen many on ebay though. I wonder where they are. : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : saruman March 16, 2005, 12:43:37 AM i'm looking foreward to the Family Guy sketch cards inkworks are making . should be good. anyone else going to collect tem?
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Roz March 16, 2005, 01:31:59 AM : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : saruman March 16, 2005, 01:34:12 AM ah thanks Roz i'm a terror at not reading the old posts. thanks ;)
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Roz March 16, 2005, 01:53:25 AM Shocking ;) NP Saruman, we are lacking any new Family Guy info at the mo :(
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : gimli March 23, 2005, 10:01:47 PM I have just finished opening my case and thought you might like to see my 10 sketch cards I pulled
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/chrischidgey/robots.jpg) card numbers in order of picutes above 92/528 351/524 264/515 78/489 354/501 493/511 237/404 110/300 342/355 141/500 : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Boggle March 23, 2005, 10:04:18 PM Great cards you've got there, will you be keeping them or putting them up on that site? ;D
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : gimli March 23, 2005, 10:10:39 PM I will be selling these probably at memorabilia or on ebay if they don't sell
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Boggle March 23, 2005, 10:26:08 PM Well if i make it to Mem i'll come and say hello, and see what other goodies you have! ;D
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Roz March 23, 2005, 10:36:53 PM Well you won't miss him - he'll have his yak shack banner up :D (of course Chris is actually the man who made it!) and if you ask nicely he'll ensure you get a nice Yak Shack badge!
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : gimli March 24, 2005, 02:56:36 AM I have just finished sorting my case of Robots and I am very supprised I got 27 full base sets and only 5 spare cards left over I have more cards left over from Chase card sets than I do from the base cards.
and I got 3 sets of each of the 4 Chase set (box, Fender bender, Big city and Rusties to the rescue) 3 of each chase sets plus spares of BL 2 PC1,2,3,6 FB1,5,6 RR1,2,3,4,5,6 The real shocker for me was that I got 27 Base Sets from the 10 boxes and only 5 spare base cards 6,15,57,60 and 87 well done inkworks that is how it should be the thing I hate about collecting cards is the hundreds of cards I have left over that I can't make up into sets I have received a few emails asking if i was willing to sell any of the sketches I pulled as I will be selling them at memorabilia and people can't go so if anyone is interested in any of them I am accepting offers but no promises they maybe already gone i will add card numbers to my previous post so you have all the info chris : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Roz March 24, 2005, 04:44:41 PM Very nice collation indeed!
I think this is what we are going to find as we move towards the manufacturers who put guarantees on their collation - however 5 spare cards is really exceptional :P : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : savage727 March 24, 2005, 09:52:55 PM That is wonderful news Chris! Now there is a card company who knows what it is doing! :)
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Eve March 25, 2005, 01:04:44 AM I bought one box and had a great collation - 2 base sets and 9 chase cards, not including the sketch or the boxloader! BTW, I got a colored sketch of Fender by Joel Gomez - #165. :D
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Anna April 10, 2005, 11:55:07 PM I opened my case of cards early this morning and these are the sketch cards I pulled. Unfortunately I got 1 dud box, so I only have 9 cards to share instead of 10.

: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : kbmum April 11, 2005, 12:03:22 AM I LOVE the color Rodney sketch! The Fender and Diesel cards with the shading are really nice, too. Except for the dud, that was a great case! Hopefully, Inkworks will help you with that.
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : beckham1 April 11, 2005, 12:15:48 AM Doesn't Inkworks guarantee that it will have the insert card? I know they guarantee a complete set per box.
Sketch 3,4, and 5 are awesome. I haven't been keeping track how are the Robots sketch cards selling? : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Anna April 11, 2005, 12:34:31 AM On the Inkworks web site, they state "SKETCH CARDS - ONE PER HOBBY BOX!". So I e-mailed them this morning about it. I'm just waiting to hear back from them.
The sketch cards on ebay all seem to be selling well, but there are so few of them listed. I did win a colored one the other day: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6168520443&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 I had bought a box prior to getting this case, and this is the sketch I got from that box. It's by Tone Rodriguez, SK-2 #109/528 Rodney (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/AnnaO/SK-2ToneRodriguez109-528Rodney.jpg) : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : gimli April 11, 2005, 12:47:55 AM There are currently at least 10 for sale on ebay I know this cause they are mine ;)

: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Anna April 17, 2005, 04:51:36 AM Just wanted to let you know that Inkworks came through for me! ;D
I just received a sketch card from them to compensate me for the missing card from my case. Thank you Inkworks! ;D It's by Joel A. Gomez, SK-8 #189/511 Rodney. : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : EmmasOneandOnly April 17, 2005, 04:55:28 AM Question
What are the special cards in the retail packs? : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : kbmum April 17, 2005, 05:05:53 AM That's wonderful! They sent you a nice sketch, too.
: Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Anna April 17, 2005, 05:18:31 AM What are the special cards in the retail packs? I think the hobby boxes and the retail boxes are both the same except a hobby box will contain a sketch card. The randomly inserted bonus cards have special foil stamping. : Re:Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : EmmasOneandOnly April 17, 2005, 05:20:10 AM oh, ok. I knew that no sketch cards where in the retail but I didnt know what

: Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Anna January 21, 2006, 09:59:58 AM Wow! Those are some really nice sketches goldenavenger! 8) I especially like the one of Rodney peeking and the Lug one. ;D

: Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Anna January 22, 2006, 11:00:31 PM I finally opened my Robots box that I won for $13.57 + $5.00 for shipping. This was in the very first pack I opened, it's a John Czop sketch of Piper in ink, #228/300. 8)

I have more Robots boxes on the way. I'm already seeing more sketch cards on ebay because of the drastic reduction in box/case prices that Inkworks has on them now. I'll post after opening them.
--Tim : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : kbmum January 23, 2006, 09:40:29 AM Please do! I love the sketches from this set. :)
: Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : goldenavenger January 27, 2006, 06:52:34 AM I posted this on another message board, so I'll post it here too to make sure I get everyone. ;D
Hello everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know that I finally added the newest part to the Robots movie section on my site. If you go to the Robots section you'll see "Robots sketch cards sold on ebay". What you'll see there is over 300 Robots sketch card (ended auction) prices that have been sold on ebay. I have kept track of all that have sold since they came out. Now if one was listed in some odd catagory (like automotive or something like that) then I probably didn't see it. But hopefully it will help some of you out and you can use those past sales to guide you in what some of the sketch cards could be worth. I'll keep updating it every once in a while like I do the Marvel Sketchagraphs sold on ebay. Enjoy. Ttyl, Tim http://www.fortradesketchagraphs.150m.com/ : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Roz January 27, 2006, 03:41:19 PM Tim, that's awesome work, I think everyone inside this thread has some idea of how hard you have worked on that price guide (from their own first hand experience ;)). It's very difficult with sketches, to make a guide like that as each one is so different, but your notes on the contents etc are wonderful - hats off to you :)
: Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : Eve January 28, 2006, 12:32:36 AM Absolutely! Thank you, Tim for taking the time to do this! Great job! :) ;)
: Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : itsme January 29, 2006, 01:05:54 PM HI All,
The cards are fantastic,, i justs missed out on one card.. so disappointed.. full color, anyway lets move on.. am looking at another Rodney from a guy i deal with in Australia... A little expensive although he has submit best offer (although this is how i missed the first, put in offer and was sold full price within 6 hours of listing.. DOH!) so i have submitted offer and awaitin a response.. Keep your fingers crossed everyone.. please.. let me know what you think of the cards.. First is the one i missed is wrench? and the one i am watching is Rodney... actually there is a third one but no pic, soz, and its of Rodnesy House by Martineck, love it.. trying to see if anyone else has a pic of his house too.... jjllrr, the seller, has more cards up on screen if you want to see them... Speak soon, let me know what you think of Rodney and keep your fingers crossed. Julie :ebay: :ebay: (http://i1.ebayimg.com/04/i/06/14/ff/76_1_b.JPG) (http://i17.ebayimg.com/04/i/06/13/bd/41_1_b.JPG) : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : goldenavenger January 30, 2006, 05:15:58 AM The seller has a bunch of cards. But just about all of them are more than I would pay. I know it has best offer, but some of them I would have to offer close to half of the BIN to be in the range of what they have been selling for, given equal artist and if it's colored or not.
But the colored Rodney by Nar is a nice card. I'm looking for a colored Nar but not for $150. If an inked one averages $20, then I would guess $55-$75 for a colored would be plenty for how many he did. Which is about 34 assorted characters and 34 red tie Ratchet's. Good luck on getting that card! I opened some more boxes, I'll have to post some of them. Although I should have all my cards on my site sometime this week. I changed the section that shows my cards. I have all the artists listed and I have the appropriate cards below their name. ;D Ttyl, Tim Oh, and SketchQueen, in case you're reading this.....you have something coming in the mail for you. ;) : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : goldenavenger February 01, 2006, 06:13:39 AM Here's the latest several sketches I pack pulled.

They are beautiful, you have some fantastic cards... I missed the Colors, someone bought them before my offer was accepted.. a rish you take i guess??? Just a question, what do you mean when you refer to "pack pulled"?? does this mean you go through a box till you get a sketch card? if so, what are the chances of there being a second sketch in a box? Thanks for sharing, i am starting to get into these cards big time.. Bought a few sketches, and the details are awesome.... will post later (when i figure out how to upload a pic >:() >:()) Maybe i should buy a case, seen some online pretty cheap.. anyone suggest somewhere? julie :ebay: :ebay: : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : kbmum February 01, 2006, 07:53:25 AM Excellent cards! It's nice that you were able to pull some good color sketches.
Julie -- Pack-pulled means that you pulled the card from any pack, whether a single pack you bought at a store or packs from a box. Most of the Robots boxes had one sketch per box, but occasionally the collation was off and you might get two in one box. But for every one of those, there could be a box missing a sketch. It happened to Anna, but Inkworks sent her a sketch to make up for it. : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : itsme February 01, 2006, 08:04:49 AM Thanks Kbmum,
I thought as much, but wow Tim must be obsessed   to have gotten all those.. i like his web site too... am slowly becoming addicted to sketch cards.. Started with the Martineck multi case incentives on Battelstar, now getting into robots and family guy... then it will be Wizard of Oz from Breygent i think... all those memories in thosecards andthe little red shoes!!!! ;D ;D ;D Thanks again.... and apologies for being uncertain.. still new to these things.. Julie : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : goldenavenger February 01, 2006, 08:50:45 AM Thanks!
And kbmum is exactly right about "pack pulled" definition. Some of my cards I just bought and some I pack pulled. If you email me I'll let you know where you can get a case of Robots at a good price. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post something like that here. ;D Ttyl, Tim : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : MartineckArt February 08, 2006, 02:56:05 AM Thanks Kbmum, ... am slowly becoming addicted to sketch cards.. I got another one! I think it's safe to say you have most of us! : Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : kbmum February 08, 2006, 08:35:30 AM I started off with Warren's sketch of Diesel and a Gomez sketch of Rodney and thought that would be enough. How wrong I was. ::) Now I'm hooked and want to get one from each artist.
: Re: Robots the Movie Sketch Cards : kbmum February 17, 2006, 03:20:49 AM I just received this one today. :) It isn't in color, but so far it's the favorite in my small collection.
