Well, tonight was the first episode of LOST to be aired here in Australia. I must say that I am intrigued to find out more!! A lot of the story was what I was expecting, but there were parts that I was not expecting which have kept me wanting more already!!

Just wanted to know what other oz forum members felt about our first look at the series that a lot of people in the Shack have been Yak'n about!!  ;)

I just posted my thoughts in the other Lost thread...but like I said there, I thought it was fantastic but the mystery "beast" had me a bit creeped out  :-\

Yea I totally know what you mean, and you just want to know what it is, I guess that is what keeps you wanting to watch as well!!  :D

Yep, but it also makes me wanna hide under my chair. Im not good with anything where I know somethings going to happen...

Well Kate, all I can say is that I am exactly the same, and this show is a hell of a bumpy ride for people like you and me!

If it wasn't summer I'd suggest you watched it under a rug, instead you should have a cushion to hide behind nearby!!!

Considering how wet and cold it is here at the moment (it was 10C yesterday) a rug might not be a bad idea  ;D

So remind me what happens in the first episode... big crash... find pilot? Jack takes control and gets all manly and doctory... stitches HIMSELF? Back together? (lovely).

Lots of growling in Jungle .... what else have I forgotten?

pilot snatched from plane by mystery beast, and turns up looking very mauled..and Charlie is an absolute weirdo, when he comes out the bathroom and acts like he's never met Kate before...

Yea that was a bit wierd...was that the way he was acting, or was he hiding something...I had the impression that he was looking for something...but I could be very wrong  ???

Yep - Charlie is one weird character in the early days, mind you he's gone back to being a bit morose again now to be fair :) just a moody character I think.

Welcome to the world of Lost my Australian friends!!   :)   As the saying goes "You ain't seen nothing yet"!!   :)

Oh honestly - all these folk said the same when I started watching it ;)

Just sit back and enjoy the ride, and although we have had a turbulent time so far and have had many things revealed to us there are still a million mysterys on this isle :)

Heehee... I was eating dinner when that pilot was mauled - greeeeat :P

But it looks good! So far I have only 3 names learned - Jack, Kate and Charlie (Dom as comic relief again for this episode ;)) But from the looks of it, the next episodes are going to get darker... and what the HELL is that... thing?????????

It wasnt the best show for me to watch this week, considering I have to catch a plane tommorrow...  :P

You will find out why Charlie was in the bathroom, as well as many other things.  I will tell you this, as I knew it from TV Guide after the first two episodes....the "beast" is not really in many episodes after the first two..yes, it does show up again, but the producers want the show to be more about the people LOST on the island and not some sci-fi horror thing. You'll see.  Great show.  Can't wait for it to come back here next week!

Well if we have not heard from blackcat soon we will know she is "Lost"!

I volunteer to lead the search mission as I would love to get to the Pacific just about now!!  Winter here in New Hampshire is long and cold!!  ;)

Well, the weather here in QLD does make me want to melt-I'm constantly dripping  :-[ We cruised up and down the Brisbane river today on the city cat, and my upper body is a lovely shade of red...ooops.

Well Blackcat I am pleased to see that you arrived in one piece to Queensland!!   :)  That's half the journey and we await your report of a safe return home.  In the meantime have a great trip!!   :)

I will...tomorrow we are heading down to Surfers Paradise for the day; I havent been there since I was a kid so it will be nice to look around again... ;D

I'm glad you had no "lost-esque" experiences on the plane!

I've got my trusty little digital camera with me, and no, there have been no lost-esque moments, though we did miss our turn-off from the motorway...  :P

Glad to see that you are having fun!   :)  Is the place Surfers Paradise what the name sounds like?  I have done a good bit of surfing here in the United States and Hawaii but I know there are some great spots in Australia as well!!   :)  Take some pictures if you can.  Thanks.

It is full of surfers, and there were quite a few in the water yesterday but the waves didnt look that good (though Im not a surfer so I dont really know what a good wave is...).  I took a couple of pics of the water from the balcony of the surf club where we had lunch, but I cant load them onto the computer till I get home over the weekend.

Surfers Paradise is a huge tourist destination, with many high-rise apartments along the coast. Apparently a lot of older people move there when they retire also, probably due to the warmth.  It has been over 30degC every day since Ive been here.  Near Surfers they also have all the theme parks, which are a big attraction, and include Movie World (warner bros), Sea World (they have polar bears), and Wet and Wild World...

Last nights episode of lost was really good (ep 2)....we found out some interesting things....god everyone there has secrets, its crazy!!!

Yeah - what about those handcuffs? I wonder what Kate is hiding? :o

And its really interesting that we get to see the back story behind all of the characters as well... though seeing that guy hitting the ceiling of the plane looks worse each time they replay it *winces*

Well so far i am enjoying it and so is hubby ( we send the kids to bed before it starts )  what got me was the polar bear .


And the signal they got on the phone

Yea that signal on the phone was creapy, and to think it had been going for like 16 years, it seems like they will never get off the island.....and maybe the person is still on the island.....hmmm

and what the hell is a polar bear doing there? that was strange, I am really interested to find out more!

Yeah, I forgot about the phone message... it creeped me out as well :o

I like the way they just end the show and what about that sheriff more concerned with the prisoner than his own life ????

Do you reckon it was a sheriff? I thought he was her lawyer. ???

remember that the other guy has his badge and gun  so he has to be a sheriff and that he was sitting next to her when she was handcuffed

But he was wearing a suit - there was no sign of a badge or anything... like what the obnoxious guy (the one with the gun) said. Maybe there were 2 marshals? One for him and one for Kate. Didn't Kate get arrested in Australia (according to the preview)?

And I wonder how that signal kept transmitting for 16 years non stop? If it keeps on going, does that mean they can't transmit an SOS either? And is the French lady still there, I wonder :o I doubt it, but still... intriguing!

I am addicted... and I am working on getting my new housemate addicted too - he's interested, so I'm on track! ;D

I finally got to watch this episode (I got home late last night), and it was very strange, but certain things from last week now make sense, especially Charlies behaviour change when he came out of the toilet.

But whats with the polar bear?  That is not normal!  :-\

Glad to see you are hooked as much as the rest of us are!!   :)

The law enforcement officer that captured Kate was a U.S. Federal Marshall and not a Sheriff.  Sheriff's are local law enforcement officers usually found in smaller communities and have no international mandate to go after criminals.  There was no other Police Officer onboard the plane and he certainly was not Kate's Lawyer FTY.   :)

It does get better and better so keep watching!   :)

But why did that guy also say he was a prisoner? Why? Why? ???

Can't tell you FTY!!  You will have to watch the episode about Sawyer to find the answer to your questions!!   :)

And this is one thing I find odd... these bears are white yes but they aren't eating fish or seals.... so are they really polar bears?

Good point Roz but from what I have seen of the bears they do indeed look like polar bears.  

What did we think of tonight's episode?

Congrats to Sawyer for making the guy who was about to die a prolonged and very painful death die an even more prolonged and even more horrible death ::)

And I was really touched by Locke carving that flute to tempt Walt's lab back and the way he told Michael to take the credit.

But... Jack saying that he did not want to hear Kate's story annoyed me :P We were up in arms yelling 'Dammit Jack, WE want to know!' ;) And it seems KAte is not what we thought she was - my opinion of her changes every episode! One point to the American producers:

No self respecting Australian farmer would
1. Wear that outfit ;D;D;D
2. Drive that truck ;D

Next week's ep looks like a good 'un - Locke's story :) Can't wait! ;D

It was exactly the same in my house! I wonder if we will ever find out....

Ditto on the Aussie farmer, and the agent guys cars; we dont have them like that here...

Locke seems to be an odd kind of guy, so  I really want to know his story

I am sure we will find out soon... at least I HOPE we will find out soon 8)

Last nights ep was good. I really liked how Walt got his lab back, he was so happy  :)

Kate is starting to annoy me, why doesnt she just bloody tell us what the hell she did!!!

Well, what did everyone think of tonights episode?

Mainly, I liked that it had something of a happy ending, for Locke anyway...

And I still want to know what the monster is...  :P

Great ep! During the last 10 min we were just going 'OH, so THAT's why he did that!' and "I get it now!'

Great that this tragedy did have a positive point... bit of a dramatic kind of physiotherapy though :o And I was very impressed that Locke managed to drag a 150 pound boar out of the woods by himself - but I wonder what it was that he DID see back there...

More backstory next week - I can't wait :) ???

I loved the exploration into Locke and his past. But now we know that he saw something and it has kept me wondering.....

and wondering...........

Jack's dad - creepy :o I like how we are getting more depth in Locke's character.

Yea how scary was Jack's dad just appearing out of nowhere, it freaked me out a bit, esp when he didnt find his body in the coffin at the end  :o

I watched the ep last night, I have uni now on Thurs nights which is a pain cause I have to get someone to tape it for me  >:(

I only got around to watching it on Sunday night. It was a great ep, but I agree the empty coffin is a bit creepy...I wonder if maybe the body wasnt in it to begin with?  My mum reckons someone else buried it, but surely they would mention it...

Next weeks ep looks a little violent...

I thought it was kind of sad, with Sun trying to escape Jin in Sydney, but not being able to go through with it... I also thought Locke did a good thing, taking the drugs of Charlie and pointing out his guitar, but Im not sure Jacks move to the cave was such a good idea...

Yea, moving into the caves would be scary, especially when there is something on the island that kills people, and that there are dead bodies there. Did anyone notice that Claire was nowhere to be seen in that episode, I didn't see her at all and she isnt hard to miss with that big belly  :P

Can anyone tell me what happened in last weeks ep?? I missed it cause someone didnt tape it for me!!!  :'( Last ep I saw was the week before where they told the story of Sun and Jin.

I THINK that its the 5th episode, right? It's called 'White Rabbit' and its Jack's back story.

As the eye opens, we see a trickle of blood beginning to flow from a cut just above it. We pull back to see a boy laying flat on his back. Beside him another boy is being ruthlessly beaten against a school yard fence. "Walk away now and you won't get your ass kicked," says the bully. And the truth of it is, walking away would definitely be the smart thing for him to do - the bully is much bigger than he is. But the boy against the fence is in real trouble and, mixed in with the pain and the terror there is something else written on his face — written so clearly you'd have to be blind not to see it. Please, help me! The first boy is up in a flash and goes to help his friend, but he's grabbed from behind by the bully and spun around, the bully's fist already cocked and ready to fire. "Should've stayed down Jack." WHAP! Lights out…

That was a Young Jack. Back in real time, Charlie races down the beach towards him, rousing Adult Jack from his FLASHBACK. "Jack! JACK! There's someone out there!" Charlie points out to the ocean — And oh my God, there IS someone out there yelling for help and struggling to stay afloat. Before Charlie can explain that he doesn't know how to swim, Jack is in the water, pounding through the surf towards the target. When he gets there, he scans the surface and finds nothing but open water. He dives under. Nothing. He dives again and he's down there a long time until…he's up and he's got someone with him. It's Boone! And just as we're about to breathe a sigh of relief, Boone asks a terrible question: "Did you get her?" Did he get who? "That woman, did you get her?" Jack turns around and, sure enough, there is someone else further out, calling for help and about to go under. Kate and Charlie take an exhausted Boone from Jack at the breakwater and Jack turns around and dives right back in. But we widen out we see the awful truth laid out before us. Jack can swim as hard as he wants… but there is no one left to save.

Back on the beach, while Kate is trying to prevent Jack from beating himself up for the life he didn't save, Jack sees the man in the suit standing in the water. When he asks Kate if she saw him too, Kate recognizes that Jack's exhausted and asks how long it's been since he slept.

Meanwhile, Sawyer has begun his own business, providing luxuries to the survivors from the stash of goodies he collected from the wreckage and as the prices reflect, he's got the market cornered in that department. "But don't worry", he tells Shannon…he'll take a check.

Hurley and Charlie tell Jack that they are dangerously low on water. It hasn't rained in a few days and there are 47 people to take care of. Jack has to point out the mathematical error. Better make that 46. They want Jack to decide what should be done, but he wants no part of it.

In FLASHBACK we see young Jack in his father's study receiving a very important lesson on what it takes to be a leader. He tells Jack he doesn't have it. And while that might not be the easiest lesson to learn, Jack needs to know there are consequences for getting involved in other people's business. Consequences like that shiner on his eye.

Back in real time, Jack is speaking with Boone when he sees the man in the suit again. This time, he's not going to let him get away. He races off into the woods and sees the man standing there with his back turned. When he turns around, the shock knocks Jack right off his feet because the man in the suit looks an awful lot like his FATHER!

On the beach, the heat and the lack of water are taking their toll. When Claire faints, the others rally to her side, but when they go to give her some of the precious water, they make a frightening discovery — it's all gone — stolen! Locke offers to go into the jungle to find more — just enough to keep Claire going.

IN FLASHBACK, we see Jack back in the same study, but he's older now - the Jack we know on the island. His mother tells him that his father is missing and that it's Jack's fault. She tells him to go and bring his father back home. Jack asks his mother where he is. She answers, Australia.

In the jungle, Jack races after the man in the suit. Just as he is getting close, he trips and falls down an incline, barely catching himself on a vine before falling off a cliff. He hangs there, slowly losing his grip on the vine. But just before he falls to the rocks below, a hand comes over and pulls him up. It's Locke! He tells Jack that the others are all looking to him to tell them what to do. Jack doesn't want the job and tells Locke about his hallucinations. Locke tells Jack that he should consider the possibility he is not hallucinating. But that's impossible. Locke tells him that possible is a relative term… especially on this island.

Back at the beach, Sayid and Kate catch Sun with a bottle of water. When they learn she got it from Sawyer, they confront him about stealing their supply. Turns out he didn't do it and he can prove it — he made a trade with Jin, "cave-man style". As Charlie does his best to comfort Claire, we wonder how long she can hang on.

In FLASHBACK, Jack finally catches up with his father in Australia…in the morgue. Back in reality, Jack wipes away his tears as he sits alone in the jungle struggling with the loss all over again. Suddenly, the man in the suit crosses by again. Jack follows him through the dark and into an undiscovered part of the island where Jack discovers fresh water and a COFFIN.

In the final FLASHBACK, we learn that Jack put his father's coffin on the plane to fly back to California for the funeral. In real time, Jack finds that the coffin is EMPTY. In a fit of frustration at not being able to bury his father and the pure exhaustion that may be causing him to hallucinate, he destroys the coffin.

Back at the beach the water thief is caught. It was Boone! And just as the mob is about to have at him, Jack returns to the scene. He tells them they can't go on like this. It's been six days and rescue hasn't come, they have to start accepting the idea that it may never come. He tells them about the water he found in the jungle and explains to them all that things have to change or more people are going to die. "If we can't live together, we're going to die alone."

WOW FTY that was a great re-cap of the episode, now only if it was the right one then it would be great!! Im sooo sorry  :o Maybe I have got it out of order but I have seen that one (see below post), the last one I remember seeing is the one with Sun and Jin, but I may have been watching them out of order. I know that it hasnt been on tv for a few weeks so im a bit confused. Was their another ep apart from the Jack one and the Sun and Jin one??

BTW - Congrats on 2000 posts. I have just realised that I am now a bull woo hoo

"Episode 7. The Moth

Charlie begins a painful journey of withdrawal from drugs, surprisingly aided by Locke, whose true motive for helping Charlie is a mystery. Meanwhile, survivors struggle to find and free Jack when he's buried alive in a cave collapse, and someone might be secretly thwarting Sayid, Kate, and Boone when they enact a plan to find the source of the French transmission."
 

Here's a more in-depth summary of 'The Moth' - if that is the one that you are missing :)

We open on the eye of a guitar and pan up to find Charlie, struggling to play the chords that once came easily. He's going through the initial stages of withdrawal -sweating, nervous and agitated. Locke encourages him to take a walk, but Charlie refuses.

Meanwhile, Jack tries in vain to convince Kate to come to the caves and Sawyer moves into the infirmary tent on the beach.

Charlie walks through the woods, hears what he thinks might be the monster and runs. We FLASHBACK to a confessional booth, where Charlie confesses to giving in to the temptations that come with his rock-star lifestyle. On the advice of the priest, Charlie considers quitting the band, until his brother Liam delivers news that they've been signed to a recording contract.

Back in real time, it turns out that Locke was using Charlie as bait to catch a boar. Fed up, Charlie demands his drugs back. Locke explains that he's going to let Charlie ask three times and that on the third time, he's going to let him have the drugs back—this was the first. Charlie begs Locke to throw the drugs away, but Locke reasons that would take away his choice, the only thing that separates us from the animals.

Back on the beach, Sayid tells Kate about his plan to triangulate the French broadcast -they'll set up three antennae and signal one another with bottle rockets as to when to turn them on. However, he needs a battery for the transceiver. Kate goes to Sawyer, knowing full well he has been hoarding stuff, and attempts to persuade him into contributing a battery. Kate claims to understand Sawyer—he has nothing and no one to return to, which is why he acts so selfishly. She says that she pities him. In an act of defiance, Sawyer gives up the battery.

Jack and Hurley continue to move bags from the beach to the caves. Charlie offers his help, but only gets in the way. When one of the bags pops open, Charlie spots some pill bottles and considers pocketing one. Jack catches him in the act. Charlie claims he has a "headache", but Jack tells him Diazepam is a little strong for a headache and dismisses him. Charlie returns to his guitar and we launch into another FLASHBACK, where Liam attempts to talk Charlie into staying with the band—tempting him with fame & fortune and appealing to his ego. Liam promises to look out for him and Charlie agrees so long as Liam promises they can walk away if things get too crazy.

At the caves, Hurley asks Charlie to move his guitar to make room for supplies. This pushes Charlie over the edge and he confronts Jack, going on an irrational rant. Suddenly, the cave walls begin to collapse, sending rocks and dirt everywhere. While Charlie escapes, Jack is trapped inside!

Kate & Sayid trek through the jungle to set the antennae and talk about fate, while Charlie runs to the beach to gather help. Boone leaves Shannon with the responsibility of firing off his bottle rocket and powering up his antenna. Sawyer volunteers to go tell Kate what happened to Jack, leaving Charlie behind. We FLASHBACK to the heyday of Drive Shaft. Charlie is up on stage next to Liam, enjoying the throngs of screaming fans. But as they launch into their hit song, "Y'all Everybody" Liam takes the chorus and sings it himself. Backstage, Charlie confronts his brother for singing his part. Liam claims that he was just caught up in the moment and dismisses Charlie, who stands by watching as his older brother takes a film canister from a girl and pulls out a familiar bag of brown powder. Liam throws Charlie a wink and a smile, before retreating to do the drugs.

Back in real time, everyone works together to clear the rocks from the mouth of the cave. When Michael arrives, he puts his eight years of construction experience into action and halts the work until he can figure out a good place to dig based on stability.

Out in the jungle, Sawyer intercepts Kate & Sayid to deliver news of Jack. But Kate's harsh comments cause Sawyer to have a change of heart and he decides to withhold the information and invite himself along on their mission.

As Locke works to skin another boar, Charlie approaches and tells him about the situation with Jack. But Locke knows the real reason Charlie came out into the jungle — he wants his stash. Locke shows Charlie a cocoon, where a moth struggles to emerge. He explains that he could help it out, but it would be too weak to survive—the struggle is nature's way of strengthening it. And off that nugget of wisdom, Locke reminds Charlie that if he asks again, the drugs will be his.

At the caves, Michael tunnels through to where Jack is able to hear their calls. Jack tells them he's pinned down and unable to move. Michael informs the group that someone small will have to go in after Jack. Charlie emerges from the woods and volunteers.

Back in the jungle, Sayid, Kate and Sawyer stop to place the second antenna. Sayid instructs Kate to watch for his bottle rocket at 5 o'clock, then sets out on his own, leaving Kate and Sawyer together. Sawyer attempts to suss out what Kate sees in Jack. Kate tells Sawyer he doesn't hold a candle to Jack, which leads Sawyer to reveal that Jack is probably dead.

Charlie crawls through the small tunnel towards Jack. In his FLASHBACK, he tunnels his way through the crowd backstage. Charlie finds Liam drinking and drugging with some groupies and berates Liam for missing sound check again and getting high before another show. While Liam takes it all very lightly, Charlie threatens to cancel the rest of the tour, claiming that things have gotten out of control and that it's time to walk away, as they agreed. Charlie tells Liam that he's destroying Drive Shaft, but Liam's ego has grown out of control—he thinks he is Drive Shaft. Liam tells Charlie he's nothing without the band and leaves him behind. Devastated, Charlie picks up one of the film canisters and empties its contents into his hands. He stares at it, tears welling up in his eyes as he contemplates taking them himself…

Halfway through the tunnel, the walls begin to collapse behind Charlie. He makes it to Jack, but now they're both trapped inside. Charlie unpins Jacks arm from under a rock and fixes his dislocated shoulder before we go into another FLASHBACK—

—to a suburban house in Australia. Charlie knocks on the door and a clean-cut Liam answers it. Charlie delivers news that he's lined up a gig for Drive Shaft as an opening act in L.A. Charlie wants a revival—needs a revival. But Liam is settled and likes his new life—he has a wife and child now. When Charlie takes off his sunglasses, Liam realizes that he's using again. Liam offers to get him some help and invites him to stay, but Charlie storms out and heads for the fateful flight back to Los Angeles.

Outside the cave, the group has nearly given up hope until Kate arrives and insists on continuing the rescue effort. Inside, Jack is quick to recognize signs of Charlie's withdrawal and tells him he'll help him though it, if they ever make it out—they're using up oxygen—FAST. But Charlie notices a moth flying around inside the cave and he follows it to a shaft of light where he begins digging for fresh air—

—as Kate and the others dig on the other side. Charlie and Jack break through the surface and stumble back into camp. Kate turns, relieved to see Jack alive and runs into his arms. Jack credits Charlie for getting them out.

Meanwhile, Sayid prepares to turn on his antenna and sets off his bottle rocket. Shannon miraculously holds up her end of the bargain from the beach and the third rocket is launched from Kate's position. Sayid turns on the antenna, about to receive the signal, when he's suddenly conked on the head with a log—someone or something doesn't want them to get off the island.

That night at the caves, Charlie goes to Locke and asks for his drugs. This is the third request and Locke sticks to his word, surrendering the little bag to Charlie. But Charlie unexpectantly tosses the bag into the fire. Locke tells Charlie he's proud of him and knew he could do it. Charlie watches as a moth dances over the fire, finally free of his addiction.

Is that episode what y'all are on in Australia? That's episode #7 and here in New Zealand we just had #10 last week. I guess I would have thought the show would have started at the same time, or something.

That was a good episode with Dom though. It's a great role but there are definitely times when Charlie reminds me of Merry...anyone else see this? The food (the peanut butter bit--or is that later??), such an earnest desire to help...He's just so cute either way  :)

I can't help but think of him as a hobbit in the show... I keep expecting Pippin to run in sometimes ;)

As for the show, we had 2 weeks without it for some stupid reason... :P

AHHH Thankyou Jo!!! That is the one I missed and im so upset  :'( it sounds like a goodie and I missed the low-down on charlie!! Im glad that he tossed his stash into the fire in the end though  ;)

We would be up to the same ep as the NZers but like FTY said, for some reason they took it off, probably because of easter  :(

The last episode was great, I was fearing the worst and holding my breath when Jack was trying to resuscitate Charlie....It was tense...but you had to keep on watching cause you didnt want to lose hope! And Claire is still missing  :o

It intrigues me, where did this ethan  >:D guy come from....and why did he kidnap Claire...I guess all will be revealed in future ep's but it just keeps me wondering!

Yep, Im totally hooked so I make sure to watch every week. Im glad its on again this week, but Ill be away on fieldwork :P I have to get my mum to tape it...

Same here, why they tried to kill Charlie and leave Claire is a mystery - I am positive it has to do with her baby... but what?? And with a second series after this, I don't think that they will be getting off the island any time soon!

Some very interesting questions that haven't been resolved in NZ or in the US either I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). I make time for this show every Wednesday. Must not miss it! Good stuff, Abrams (sp?) is one of the best writers out there for TV I think.

I am honestly hooked on this show and I have heard that you dont find out a lot of things but the story keeps getting more and more exciting so you HAVE to keep watching  :o

soooo last nights episode was ok, we found out a bit more about Kate, and that she killed someone.

Poor charlie cried at the end, it was a tad emotional... but im still worried that they havent found claire...i wonder if they do end up finding her, i really hope so...does anyone know?

I am curious to see what locke and boon(i think thats his name) have found, some kind of underground opening thingo....im not very good with words this morning.

I was pleasantly surprised that here in New Zealand the entire first season was shown without ANY breaks. Even that special "catch up/recap/introductory" episode was shown on a Sunday night so we got a new episode that Wednesday  ;D
That being said, last week was the season finale.  Now I wonder if I have to wait until January for season 2 to start here  >:(

Im beginning to wonder if Locke is all that nice after all; I was feeling sorry for him a few weeks ago but now im not so sure  :-\

It was a great ep last night!! I loved that claire had her baby and it was so funny when Charlie and Jin were jumping up and down  ;D I think that Emilie De Ravin who plays Clarie is a fantastic actress and im really glad that she got this role (she is from Melbourne!!) She was previously in Roswell (my fave show) but was not a very favourable character...so now I am glad to see she got a great role in LOST  :D

I kinda knew that Boone would die after the last ep so it wasnt really a surprise to me but it was sad  :'( I am really interested in what is going to happen with Locke now....he was nowhere to be seen in that ep, the last time we saw him he was banging on the top of that hatch and a light came on! wierd...

Next weeks ep is just going to be a run-down of what has happened so far, just going over eps, they did the same thing for desperate housewives a couple of weeks ago.

It was a good ep last night, it was so cute how sawyer was the only one to get the baby to stop crying  :)

I loved Saied...'take me to the hatch' he was so serious there at the end, pity about his r'ship with Shannon though, looks like it wont be happening for the moment. And I saw in the previews for next weeks ep that Locke shows them the hatch...interesting!!

i loved that sawyer had to read to keep the baby quiet, and from a car mag too  :rofl: he looks so funny with those classes too.

I like sayid, and i like the way he caught locke out, twice...

it will be interesting to see how it ends next week, cant wait for the new season

Ah Sawyer was so CUTE in that episode! :-* I was rolling on the floor when Charlie started following him and then Sawyer gives him a *look* and Charli looks at him like 'What? :rofl:'

I can't believe next week is the last one! Although I did have a sneaking suspicion when it started that it would go for more than one series :P

That was a great episode though. Some much needed comedy I think, at least for the viewers.

Did all the Aussies watch last nights ep?

I really enjoyed this episode; it was great to see flashbacks for a whole heap of characters rather than just one. I also also pleased to see Sawyer tell Jack about his dad...that was a great moment. It was nice to see Boone again too, even though it was only in the past...

Has anyone else noticed how most of the main characters met in some way before the plane crash? Sun and Jin were at the airport when Jack was arguing at the counter, Jacks dad met Sawyer, who was at the police station when Boone went there for help with hs sister, and shannon ran into Sayid at the airport...Im sure there are a few more buts thats all i can remember at this time of morning when im only just getting my cup of tea  :P

I also liked the excitement of the raft sailing; it was a nice positive moment, i just hope it stays that way...

Last nights ep was great!! I loved how Jin and Sun made up and were all lovey-dovey, it made it harder to see the raft sail away  :(

For some reason I thought that last night was the last episode, I thought I had seen it advertised that way, but then at the end it said that there was the 2 hour special next week or something so I was quite happy about that  :D more lost for me

Loved the finale...thought it was fantastic!! I was so shocked when they took Walt....and I cant believe that Charlie took one of those statues with the drugs in it...bad charlie bad!!

Well the monster that chases them sounds to me like it is mechanical...it just sounded like that in the last ep like it was some kind of machine....but there was some black whispy smoke stuff that looked pretty freaky

I thought last nights ep was really good. I had read somewhere what was down the hatch, computers etc but that linkage between Jack and the guy that was down there was great! And the part where Shannon saw walt was scary  :-X

Sorry to crash your thread girls but I was curious.  ;)  There was a big discussion on what Walt said when it first aired in the US, and I believe what he said was more like "Push the button.  Don't push the button.  Bad."  So we still don't know if it's bad or good.  ???

On a radio station in Melbourne this morning, they supposedly actually played it backwards, and thats what it said... but then, can you trust the radio?  8)

The last number Desmond turns the safe combination to is 42.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at 8:15AM.
It looks like Desmond typed in 4 8 15 16 23 and 42 and then hits the EXECUTE button on the keyboard right after he wakes up.
When Desmond gets on the bike, he cycles up to 16 mph

I was so relieved that Sawyer was alive (although I was terrified that Michael accidentely shot him!) and also Jin. Now we finally get to see who the *others* are. And find out why they are on the island. Now, is it just me, or does no-one else believe that we will find this out for a while?

Maybe his name wasnt Randy...anyway, Hurleys boss at the chicken shop in this eps flashback, was also Lockes boss at the box company (season 1 ep 4 flashback), and somewhere along the way Hurley has mentioned that he bought a box company (ie where Locke works) with his winnings, hence the connection (hope that made sense)

Why do the others take the tailies, but kill survivors from the other group?
The transmission the Bernard receives is Boon....so no one knows they are on the island....
Remember when Jin etc hid under the bushes while the others walked past, and one was carrying a teddy bear? Then the tailie kid who also had a bear?

something from a few eps ago also, when Hurly was drinking out of a carton in the hatch, Walt's face is on the side, listed as "missing".... wonder what it all means...

I thought it was amusing that you could sum up everything that had happened to the tailies in one episode yet it took a season and a half to tell the story of what happened to the frontenders :rofl: And did you think that Goodwin kinda looked like David Thewlis?

I noticed the bear straight away when I saw the kid holding it, for some reason it really stuck out to me when we saw the scene with Jin and Mr Eko under the bushes.

A very good question as to why they kill the frontenders and kidnap the tailies... maybe all the good guys were sitting in the back? Remember that arguably all the fronties (erm... I really can't think of a better term!) have rather sinister pasts, so they definitely wouldn't be classed as the 'good people' that the others want. And why would they want them? Maybe to add to their little population? I really am clinging to straws here...

That teddy bear definately stuck out...not something youd expect to find on an island.

Well I am a bit confused after last weeks ep...some of the tallies were taken but why werent the fronties taken...hmm I agree with you both its wierd.

Maybe it has something to do with that part of the island that they landed on...maybe the others dont like going to the part of the island that the fronties landed on that's why there have been minimal run-ins with the others compared to what the tallies have experienced.

Maybe its to do with their base (the Others, I mean). From what I recall, the fronties had a fair hike to get to the Black Rock. So maybe the Others don't like to wander too far from there. Maybe its something to do with what's going on in the Hatch. Maybe the Others are responsible for Desmond and now the fronties being made to play babysitter to that button.

Or maybe I am REALLY clutching at straws now :-\

wow, was tonights ep a tear-jerker or what? I didnt like shannon much to start with, but she really grew on me, and that last minute tonight had me in tears (i admit, im a bit of a sook; I cried in HP  :P)

Despite Ana-lucia's obvious issues, I kind of like her...she obviously has a reason for being the way she is...

Also good to see Rose reunited with her husband; i love that she just knew he was still out there. There are some amazing people ;D

Yea I was a bit of a sook at the end too  :'( poor shannon...they left her laying there the whole episode..how horrible. It was a great ending though, sayid carrying shannon was so sad but it was also good to see sun & jin and bernard & rose re-united...that was sweet.

I didnt like the fact that no one was upset about shannon when they found out though..the only one that looked really upset about it was Jack. But I guess only a select few know about what happened at the moment  :'(

Ok, so us Aussies had the Lost season 2 finale last night.... what does everyone else think?

Its good to know that its all real, and the characters arent going to wake up and find it was all a dream...

Interesting to see why the plane actually crashed....and could Lockes delay in putting the numbers in a few episodes ago be why Desmond was drawn back to the island?

So many questions answered, and so many new ones to think about...

Season Finale was great  :o

It is so interesting to see that it was not fake and there is some sort of electromagnetic thing going on that kinda 'explodes' or 'overloads' when the button isnt pushed.

I dont think anything happened when Locke was delayed last time cause he put the numbers in quick enough and the hatch didnt shake or anything.

I hope Locke and Eko are ok...especially Locke, I couldnt dream of Lost without Locke.

How strange was the ending, obviously desmonds love (Penny I think) has been looking for him, and the computer had the word 'electromagnetic' on it so she must know he is near there and is looking for a reading to find the island....hmmm so many theories to think about.

I hope that Kate, Jack, and Sawyer are ok. I think that Michael will go around and find Sayid and they will rescue them together, I think he will try to redeem himself and not just drive off on the boat
