My weirdest and wonderful hobby is inline skating. I didn't take it up til I was 23 but I love it

Anyone else do anything cool?

Not at the moment, unless you count spending silly amounts of money on LOTR and HP!

However, I do intend to take up archery in the summer holidays (winter to you guys in the top half of the world!) so that will be interesting  ;D

That does definitely sound interesting... can I ask whether this was inspired by Legolas?  ::)  But seriously - it's fun; I have a friend from school who does it - it's all high tech - no wooden bows now you know!

Actually, no. I did it for the first time at a school camp (before LOTR came out  ;)) and found it quite fun. We didn't get proper lessons, more a 'here's a bow, here are some arrows, don't shoot other people, go for it!', so I would like to learn it properly. I did manage one bullseye though ;D

As for Legolas... I'll take him on any day ;)

Wow archery!  that's cool!  I did that at a army camp thing, I also did kayacking (spl?!)  and I'd love to take that up, but I didn't like capsizing... scared the hell out of me...   :'(

I've done a few things, I used to dance, and horseride... (not so unusual, but still fun) and I did inline skating for abit  *waves at Roz* but it was nothing serious.  And right now, my hobby is acting.  I joined a local theatre in July last year, and since I've played the lead in 2 plays, (one of which went to a festival and scooped a load of awards *grin*) been minor parts in 2, co directed and co wrote 1, assistant stage managed one, been sound tech for one, and I'm due to direct another short play, play another minor role, stage manage half a show, help backstage and possibly be in a production of "The Hobbit" (yes, as in Lotr "Tolkien" hobbit.) and I've also been cast in a musical, with only five characters...

So I'm kinda into that... lol

*waves right back at our new sleeping dragon*... (though I'd like to point out - it's rubbish... we haven't had a dragon in these parts for years - LOL can I never get out of quoting LOTR???)

Well I suppose I can add to my original quote of just "inline skating" it's my weirdest hobby (for a 24 year old anyway) but I also play the Oboe, I hike, I go camping, I love to travel, I am a competant forum surfer,  I swim like a fish (which I have to since I work on the intertidal flats!, and I am learning to fly kites that can take aerial photos of the ground... which is actually more work than a hobby anyway. I also play computer games when the will takes me - or when Mark says "you'd like this"

I did try trampolining for a couple of years which was cool, but I didn't carry on with it - it has given me the confidence to try spins etc on skates though - woo yay!

Nothing is weird if you enjoy doing it!! Well almost nothing!!   :-[

My passions have been mountaineering, back country snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking & camping, and of course flying.  My inside interests include collecting LOTR's cards, computer and board wargaming, painting aircraft, ships, and figures, and writing military history.

As many of you now know I have just started last 6 months collecting trading cards,mainly films I like at the moment and only near complete collection to shout about is my Batman Begins. I have for many years collected Starwars figures from across the univerese including 12 inch figures to the smaller 3 3/4 inch ones all never opened. I have a few autographed aswell as a rare toyfair release chewbacca signed by Peter Mayhew which I bought in 2000.I also have a rare applause statue in bronze colour called "The Rescue" and depicts the gun battle on steps after Leia has been rescued and just before they go into the garbage pit very neat statue and great detail, aswell as a hand made light sabre made from T6 aircraft aluminium with flurescent tube which is powered by a 9 volt batery in the hilt and power is converted to 240 volts aswell as a master replicas vader sabre with sound effects and realistic power up and down lights and sound etc.
Due to lack of space I wil be selling off parts if not most of collection to go into trading card collecting full time so email me if you like to buy anything.

My newest hobby is Comping....no not CAmping but COmping....it involves entering as many competitions as possible and as many times as possible. You know what they say, youve got to be in it to win it!! So far all I have won is a couple of movie vouchers but have only been doing it for a month. The beauty of it is though that you could win something, but not recieve it until a couple of months later so its a great surprise.

Am praying to win a car or holiday one day  ::)

It is a good hobby to balance out my card collecting...winning (and then selling on ebay if I dont want it) is a lot better than buying!! Hopefully I can scrounge up some extra cash for my cards  :D

I enter a lot of competitions to on a site called myoffers but never have had any luck at all,just loads of spam from all the companies that set the comp up through this site in the first place what sites do you use?

I use a site www.lottos.com.au (for australia)...it is a forum where members list every competition they find..web, magazine, store products etc so that you can just go through it to find out about all the comps...and you have a choice of what you want to enter. It links to websites that have competitions, shows you what magazines have competitions in them and members post their answers etc...

Its pretty good, you have to pay a fee to join but the amount of competitions on there is amazing, there are sooo many. Take a look around if you want, there is a thread called winners circle where members post their wins for the day...they may have something similar for other countries if you have a search.

I think most of us can tick the card collecting box ;)

Well as most of you know one of my major hobbies is writing, I love it. I have stories aviable ;). I also do some cross stitch these days. And I have made various historial dresses.

Which all sounds a bit boring after dragon westling and stuff lol  :P Well ok no one addmited to that one  ;)

I write too - one of my stories was even published! I got so excited *lol* I think I called everyone I knew to tell them. I also play online video games (Everquest 2) and of course, am totally addicted to my children! So, anything that involves them and their interests, I'm also involved in - Currently Baseball (the oldest is playing) and Gardening (If we don't go to water HIS flowers at least twice a day, my two year old is in tears!)
