Is anyone here watching this season of 24 with Keifer Sutherland?  I watched the 4 hour season premiere on Sunday and Monday and am hooked all over again, even with all the new faces.  The only problem with that is, I don't trust anyone!!

Same here, I agree with you 100%!  Trust no one!  

I learned from season 1 that someone really close could be the culprit!

This show is only available on SKY over here... but the DVD boxed sets are very cheap at the moment, very cheap indeed and it's something I have always been interested in. I am debating whether to buy the first series on DVD to see if I like it (then wait for another good offer and buy the next 2 if I like it).

Is it worth doing?

Okay, bare with me as this is difficult to explain.  If you don't want to know what happened in the episode aired 1/17/2005, then stop reading.

***********SPOILER********************

Let's see, they let Chloe resign and did not send her to jail.

The terrerists kids Mom's shot his girlfriend, even though she was already dead just to make it look like her son shot her for when his dad came home. When he did, the girlfriends mother showed up looking for her (they had already got rid of her car), but she missed an important doctor appointment or something.  While she was at the door, her daughter's (whose body was in the living room) cell phone started ringing and she recognized the ring.  The son showed up at the door and told her that him and Debbie (the girlfriend) got the same ring tone.  She believed him and left.

The police let Jack go once they confirmed his story and learned the robbery was a set up.  However, a cop, prior to getting the notice to let the stolen yellow truck go and to NOT pull it over, ended up stopping it as there was almost a fight between him and a car in front of him.  Anyway, to make a long story short, they ran the tags of the truck, and as the cop was walking towards him with his hand on his gun, he got the call to let the truck go.  The terrerist saw this and realized that he must be being watched.  Due to this, he rams his truck in to an oncoming cement truck and kills himself.  Luckily, they listened in to another one his phone calls prior to this and the know the general vicinity he was going to.

The Secretary and his daughter tried to kill themselves by knocking off the gas line.  The terrerists found them passed out, but were able to revive both  of them.  Just as Jack gets to this place (at least, we think he is at the right place), he learns that the President decided they will kill the secretary anyway and that they are going to bomb the building killing everyone inside to stop the terrerists.  Jack doesn't want his girlfriend hurt so he goes in side.  The broadcast is beginning.....  The End.

I agree, however, I don't feel like I am on the edge of my seat at the end of each episode like I have been in the past.

I disagree. I find it difficult to go 6 days without an episode! My husband is enjoying it as well, and his enthusiasm is contagious!!

And that Sutherland fellow ain't hard on the eyes either :)

Have you watched previous seasons?  Don't get me wrong, this season is great too, but when it ends, it ends.  I think in previous seasons, I would see it end and can't believe it was over already and how could they just end it like that!!!

I still like this season a lot, but I am not on the edge of my seat anymore.  Maybe it is just that I am more used to the show....if that is possible.

ooooh well I'm just getting into this (my kind father - mentioned above has let me borrow back the DVDs I gave him at the beginning of the year) anyway, I'm half way through the second season so like Gollum I'll put my hands over my ears and cry *not listening*

So did you like the first season Roz? I think the first season was the absolute best...so heart wrenching at the end. I have not got to watch much of this season cause I have had uni...not fair...but I absolutely love the show!

Man, I'm hooked!!!!  My husband and I started watching these (box sets) at the beginning of this summer!!  We watched season 1-3 within weeks!   :o We would sometimes stay up until 3 a.m. We can't wait for season four to be released.   8) And of course season five starts in January!! I even signed up on the 24 fan club!! 

OK I'm with you now - I've watched up to the end of season 3 - oh Tracey I couldn't believe the end of the first one... shocking.

Season 4 is out on DVD here, and so maybe it's also been released in the US, I have it here with me and am going to watch it over the next 3 weeks, possibly over the next week ;) although I have got the ext editions of LOTR to watch as well ;D

I don't get the whole release date difference!!  ???  How is it that Season 4 has been release to you already, but it won't be released here in the US until DECEMBER!!??!!?? >:() I'm soooo jealous!!!!

Well that makes a change, I'm on the 3rd disc now :) it's slightly slower than the others so far (i.e. with the last ones one problem all developed into another very fast whereas they seem to solve problems and then find new ones in a row instead... if you see what I mean, which somehow slows the general pace a bit I think.

But it's still REALLY good!

Ooooooooooooh yes.... a very big rollercoaster at the end, tonight I'm either watching FOTR or the special features from 24 as my Dutch hosts are allowing me a night in for a change :D

Well, we haven't been able to sit down too much aroung here lately. We've only watched one night. But we watched 3 episodes that night!!  ;D

I think Keifer Sutherland is an excellent actor!! I have always classified him as one of my favorites (ever since Stand By Me)!!!
I'm sure we'll finish the season 4 off tonight!! I wanted to continue last night, but it was already 2:00 a.m.
I can't wait for season 5 next week!! Wondering what crisis is going to be dealt with!!

THAT is the very problem!! How can you sleep when a huge mystery awaits you and you have the ability to keep watching? (this is why I have red eyes and use matchsticks to keep my eyes open ;D)

Alrighty then!!! We finished season 4 last night at 2:45 a.m. *yawn*
Lets just say that I thought I knew where season 5 was going, while we watched the beginning of the last episode.
But now I have no idea!! ::) Definitely a good season though!!! A lot of action towards the end!! Luckally season 5 is only a week away!!  ::)  Bring it on!!!!  ;D

;D Season 5 will be the first time I have watched 24 as they are shown on TV. How will I cope watching them over the space of 24 weeks (or longer if the irregularity of the airing dates in the US of LOST are anything to go by) rather than 4 weeks? I don't know ;)

But it will be fun to speculate with you as to what is going on Jackie ;D I think Sara (RNS) Cindy (KBMum), Tracey (Trey) Joanna (Sketchqueen) and Ed (Savage727) watch them too, so I reckon there's going to be lots of speculating.

So has anyone heard ANYTHING about season 5? Any hint as to what potential disaster Jack is going to save us all from this time?

Roz, the US air dates will be one a week.  Since the first two night premiere is 4 hours, that leaves another 20 episodes.  I do believe that, like last season, it started so late in the season so they can show it non-stop, without any weeks off.  Makes it much easier than those shows, like LOST, that take a month break for the holidays.

I sort of started to get that general impression from the FOX statement ;D Hooray, that's great. ;D

Now, how much longer is it til it starts over there? It's bedtime here so I'm off soon ;)

Same here!!! We watched seasons 1-4 since July!!! I'm going to go bonkers having to wait week to week!!  ::)

Jackie, did you watch the season premiere last night?  All I can say is  :o :o :o !  I would have screamed, but the kids were sleeping. ::)

We had to tape it on the DVR because my oldest chose to go paintballing for his birthday. We didn't get home until 10:30.  :P  But HOLY COW!!!! :o :o :o :o  With in minutes, my husband and I were on edge!!! I can't wait for tonight!!! Then we have to wait A WHOLE WEEK for the next episode!!  :P

My mother-in-law won't watch the show when it airs.  She tapes it and watches it the next day.  That way, she can fast-forward through the commercials and get more nonstop action!

It was very convenient to be able to do that!!  ;D

Last night was the first of the two-night, four-hour season premiere. :)  It's really just first four episodes run over two nights, and then they'll do the regular weekly show.

When do you get this aired, Roz? Have you heard?

I'm watching the fourth episode right now and was really surprised to see Samwise! ;)  I didn't know Sean Astin had a new role on the show.

I really have enjoyed the 2 day 2 hour new shows of 24!  I liked the way Sean Austin walks in and saves the day!   :)   I just can't wait for the Presidential Advisor to get his!  I hope Jack gets to twist the knife right in his crummy back and make him squeel like a pig!   ;)  I guess you can tell that I hate this man!

Great show last night - and Jack now knows the crummy Presidential Advisor is a traitor and we all know what Jack does to traitors!   :) 

I'm wondering if they're going to link last season here and get the Chinese after Jack!!  :o

And I am shcoked Kim has nto been mentioned.  She thought Jack was dead all this time too.  Now, I know it has only been like 5 or 6 hours, but don't you think she would have at least been mentioned, or called by Jack to say he is alive?

Great episode!   :)   What a weasel the President is turning out to be!  Glad Jack pounded the traitor advisor Walt!!   >:D   I just knew the terrorists were going to come out of it ok when the leader caught the guy coming out of the container!  I look forward to next weeks show.

Remember when Sean was mugged by his sisters goon friends and his wallet was taken.  It looks like they also took either his ID card or some kind of access card to CTU.  I wonder if this will come back to haunt him or not?

I wish that did not happen, I liked Edgar too.    :'(   This series has more twists and turns than a mountain road.  This show has easily become my favorite.  A new show premiered last night on CBS called The Unit and I was highly impressed - technically correct, great acting, and revelant real world story line.  I think this one is a keeper!   :)

I have to agree!!! I haven't been hooked on any shows for a long time!! But I am hooked to this one!!

Well at least our boy Sean Austin (Samwise) made good for his error in judgement in not reporting his access key card was stolen and gave his life valiantly to save what was left of CTU!!  I really felt bad for the Security Guard who was watching Mr. Samwise as he got nailed as well when the nerve gas got into the room!   :P   Maybe he should have done a bit more of this  :-X! 

WOW! Didn't see that coming!!  :o Each week is getting more intense!!

We have just had the entire season rushed through in like 6 weeks or something here in Oz....two episodes, two nights a week.

I must say this season was EXCELLENT!!!! I was a huge fan of the first season, and no other one has tugged at the heart strings quite like it....until now!! I was totally blown away every ep...and I totally loved the ending. Good on Martha!! haha

Certainly does leave the storyline open for next season though  :-X

OH MAN!!! You're killing me!!! I also agree no season has been as good (don't get me wrong...all have been good) as the first!!! But now I'll be in agony until January!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!  :P

I honestly thought it was an absolutely brilliant season  :D On par with Season 1..they are now both my favourites, I couldnt choose  :-[
