We get ours in another week!! Please post your thoughts here about the movie when you view it! Thanks. :)
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak December 06, 2004, 05:20:41 PM We don't get ours for a few more days - I think its the 10th.
That reminds me - I have to book tickets for the LOTR Exhibition too! :) : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Ed... Van Halen December 06, 2004, 09:32:01 PM Not a lot to say tbh, its awesome...Aragorn benefits the most from the additions!
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : savage727 December 07, 2004, 03:06:37 AM Anything extra with Aragorn gets my vote!! ;)
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : paxcards December 10, 2004, 02:50:38 AM My ROTK EE arrived today :) - it really is a beauty! I'm saving the movie itself for the weekend, but watched an 1 hour 1/2 of extras - the camera behind the scenes is great - especially with all the shooting of the final scenes and interviews - really sad that it has all come to an end.
I have totally enjoyed the LOTR experience and will enjoy these films for a lifetime. : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Roz December 10, 2004, 11:01:26 PM Minas Tirith is pretty cool actually :) I really liked the book ends but wasn't so impressed by Smeagol :-\
Can anyone remember the Gollum WETA statue to match the TTEE one was limited to? This time the Minas Mrgul WETA piece costs $75, plus £7 shipping in the US and $18 in the UK, $30 in Australia, and is limited to 8,500 pieces. How does that compare to last time? Anyway, I am just about to watch some of the Howard Shore DVD :) I think it's going to be a really nice thing to have for people who have been to see the Symphony (and a blimmin good advert for those who haven't ;)) : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Roz December 11, 2004, 09:48:33 PM Ooh and it appears if you buy the Minas Morgul statue you get a 1.4 scale model of Aragorn's crown

I received an email from Sideshow informing me of the same thing. I am interested in Aragorn's Crown and hope they sell it seperately as I do not want to shell out $75 plus postage for Minas Morgul! : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Roz December 12, 2004, 07:05:44 PM I'm thinking the same thing, it's the crown I like too!
I wonder if they will sell it for the $30 they suggest it's worth as it would be a cool thing to have for that money! You are lucky Ed, postage for Minas Morgul is only $7 to you ;) : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Nienna December 12, 2004, 07:47:15 PM I'm looking forward to getting hold of my Collector's Edition boxed set soon! :)
The only thing is ... I'm really reluctant to open it as I have both the FOTR and TTT Collector's Editions still in their factory-wrapped cellophane and wanted to keep the ROTK in the same condition. If I do that, then I won't be able to get one of the polystone sculptures of Minas Morgul as you have to get the information and special code out of the ROTK box! :-[ What do I do? :'( :-\ : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Roz December 12, 2004, 07:53:01 PM I think you can order direct off the website... so don't panic. Which also seems a good idea to international customers who have to send either a cheque in US funds or an international money order (boo).
Guys now that we have the price guide up we are being charged through the nose for bandwidth costs, so we are trying to set up an affiliate link with Sideshow WETA, if you order through a link we provide it won't cost you any more and you can add any coupons you have to your order but they will give us a %, which will be nice and will help (Mark gets an email every time we use another gigabyte of bandwidth as that means they charge him - and he's been getting those emails a LOT lately). The plan is that if "profits" exceed bandwidth costs we'll purchase items for competitions - so everyone wins... well ok just the competition winner but you know what I mean ;) : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : savage727 December 13, 2004, 06:13:33 AM Sounds like a great idea Roz! :)
The $30 price for Aragorn's Crown seems about right. They should be selling it without having to purchase any other item. Needless to say I will be following this. : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : robwaddle December 14, 2004, 12:02:38 PM If you're a SS newsletter subscriber, check your inboxes. They've been sending out Minas Morgul invites since just after midnite GMT.
Rob :) : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : savage727 December 19, 2004, 08:07:35 PM Well I got tired of waiting for my Collector's Edition to show up and went and rented the ROTK EE last night from my local video store. All I can say is WOW!! It was certainly worth waiting for - the scene in the beginning with Saruman was way cool if you don't mind the huge inaccuracy from the book. As Ed Van Halen said Aragorn benefits the most and as an Aragorn fan I was blown away by the additional footage. The Mouth of Sauron scene was outstanding especially when Aragorn lopped his head off!! :) I also liked the way he finished off Gothmog!! :) I also enjoyed the additional footage with Faramir. :)
All in all a classic movie made even better!! 8) : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Boggle March 24, 2005, 11:48:16 PM I finally had the spare cash to buy it a while back, and watched the film a couple of nights ago.
All i can say is Wow! I was going to watch it in two halves, but i was enjoying it so much i ended up watching the whole lot in one go till about 2am. A fantastic end to the trilogy!! :) : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : blackcat20 March 27, 2005, 05:10:06 PM Has anyone checked out the easter eggs?
The Hidden Interview is hilarious! To find it: On disc 1 of the film, use the remote and select chapter 33-36, once selected keep pressing down until a ring appears next to 'select a scene' at the bottom, press the ring and a very funny interview between Elijah and Dom will come up, introduced by Elijah. I havent laughed so hard in ages! ;D : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak March 27, 2005, 05:32:12 PM Did you find the egg on Disc 2? Same method - a hilarious interview with PJ as conducted by Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn ;D
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : blackcat20 March 27, 2005, 05:35:00 PM I know its there, but I didnt get around to looking at it....one was enough for tonight
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak March 27, 2005, 05:36:38 PM I still reckon the best egg was the one on the Two Towers disc with Gollum and Andy Serkis accepting the MTV award - best speech I have heard in years! ;D
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Boggle March 27, 2005, 05:45:59 PM :o How do i find that one FTY?
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak March 27, 2005, 06:04:25 PM Its on Disc One of the TT EE - go to chapter select and scroll down to the last chapter. Scroll down once more and a ring shoul dlight up next to the new scene option at the bottom of the screen - press enter and voila!
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : blackcat20 March 27, 2005, 06:12:41 PM The same hint works for both disc 1 and 2 of each of the three EE dvd sets :D
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak March 27, 2005, 06:35:38 PM Are you sure? As far as I know, only ROTK EE has eggs on Disc one and two - FOTR and TT EE only have the egg on Disc 1 ???
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Boggle March 27, 2005, 06:47:29 PM Hmmm, i've tried it out on ROTK, which works on both discs, but i cant get anything on TT and can only get it to work on disc 2 of FOTR, any ideas?
Bah! Been hunting on the net and apparently some of these may not work on R2 discs! Grrrrr >:( : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak March 27, 2005, 07:13:05 PM I remember now - UK-ers (and anyone in Region 2) couldn't get the Gollum speech on their EEs :P Just google it and I am sure you can download it from somewhere!
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Goofyjas March 27, 2005, 08:58:11 PM I am interested in Aragorn's Crown and hope they sell it seperately as I do not want to shell out $75 plus postage for Minas Morgul! I bet you as well as I and everyone else are kicking themselves in the @$$ for not buying Minas Morgul now :( Sells for 250-300 on ebay and the crown goes for 100+ DOH! : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak March 27, 2005, 08:59:10 PM By the time the EE hit stores in Aus, the Morgul pieces were well and truly sold out :P Sucks to live here sometimes :P
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Roz March 27, 2005, 10:50:00 PM It was the same in America - most people didn't have the code before the thing sold out - but the code was available on the forum ;)
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Boggle March 28, 2005, 02:50:46 AM Slightly off topic, bit my local Woolworths were selling off TTEE gift boxes for £20 yesterday, trouble was the boxes were a bit battered. I'd have got one otherwise!! ;D
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : blackcat20 March 28, 2005, 05:59:28 AM This is mostly for the region 4 EEs:
FOTR: Hidden preview for The Two Towers On disc 2, head for the Scene Selection menu and navigate to the page where the listing for chapter 48 (the "official fan club credits") is. Press the "down" directional key and you'll reveal a little silhouette of two towers. Press enter. Hidden MTV Movie Awards Parody On disc 1, head for the Scene Selection menu, navigate to the final page, and highlight the "Council of Elrond" scene listing. Then press the "down" directional button to reveal a ring. Hit enter. TT: Return of the King Trailer - Go to the last page of the "Scene Selections" on Disc Two. - Highlight Chapter 30 and push Down. - A ring will be highlighted, and upon pushing Enter will enable you to see the trailer for Return of the King. Gollum's Acceptance Speech - Go to the last page of the "Scene Selections" on Disc One. - Highlight Chapter 30 and push Down. - A ring will be highlighted, and upon pushing Enter will enable you to see the 2min 56sec acceptance speech of Gollum at the 2003 MTV Awards Best Visual Performance Hope that helps : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Nienna March 28, 2005, 06:13:50 AM Looks like us R2 EE owners won't be able to access most of them! :'(
I know I tried to find the Gollum acceptance speech and couldn't so I didn't bother trying to find the eggs with the other EE sets. :-\ : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : blackcat20 March 28, 2005, 06:15:18 AM sorry :-\
: Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Nienna March 28, 2005, 06:20:47 AM It's annoying and unfair that some Region EE sets have these and others don't. >:(
Oh well, not to worry ... thanks for posting ALL those instructions for us. I might have another go at looking for them, so at least you've saved me the hard work of figuring out how! ;) ;D : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : Roz March 28, 2005, 04:56:20 PM It's annoying and unfair that some Region EE sets have these and others don't. >:( Oh well, not to worry ... thanks for posting ALL those instructions for us. I might have another go at looking for them, so at least you've saved me the hard work of figuring out how! ;) ;D We were not allowed them because it would mess with the "12" rating of the DVD! Which IMHO is fair enough - I just downloaded them on the internet instead, I wasn't too impressed with the FOTR one : Re:The end of all things...ROTK EE : ferdinand_the_yak March 28, 2005, 05:00:43 PM Yeah - alot of people found that to be very funny... I didn't really :P The toilet humour was nowhere as funny as it could have been if they tried to be a bit more clever - but I guess it WAS Jack Black ;D
Gollum's speech was the best of the lot, I reckon! I did not know about the extra features on Disc 2 of FOTR and TT - will go and check them out now! |
