WOW, I just read the other forum posts you attached to this thread.  One of them notes that you could see his feedback, so it must have been before he made it private.  Personally, I do not like when the seller or buyers make their feedback private.  It is almost as if they are trying to hide something.

Do we ever know what happened in the past with the LOTR auto card from the other thread?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 03, 2004, 09:59:27 PM
I guess we will never know... :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 03, 2004, 10:02:27 PM
And Roz... I forgot to thank you for this heads up.  I think I speak for everyone when I say that we appreciate it when someone gives us warnings such as this.

If it wasn't for this forum, I may have won one of theose PoA hobby boxes (first set) that came with the free PS2 game (the guy had like 18 listed and they were all a scam).  If I hadn't read the warning here, I may have won one of those auctions and ended up loosing money.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 03, 2004, 10:06:15 PM
Definitely - its great when we all look out for each other :)

I highly advise everyone to stay away from this auction... I have personally dealt with this guy and can say that you run a high risk of a bad/non-existent transaction >:(

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: sketchqueen December 03, 2004, 10:14:23 PM
I know the guy currently bidding on it. Do you think I should warn him, maybe send him to this thread, or do you think I should stay out of it?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 03, 2004, 10:14:39 PM
It's really sad that there are people out there who scam people like this.  I know we don't live in a perfect world, but it really upsets me that some people seem to have no feelings or guilt.  I could never do something like that to someone.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller

I know the guy currently bidding on it. Do you think I should warn him, maybe send him to this thread, or do you think I should stay out of it?

If you know them tell them!
We know from past experience the seller isn't to be trusted.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 03, 2004, 11:34:26 PM
emailed him and his response was...

"ha ha you f**king gayboy jew c**t fat ugly motherf**king cock sucking black b*****d..."

i personally don't think you should buy from him

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 03, 2004, 11:39:28 PM
Woah, wait a second.  Was that the exact response of the seller?  What did you ask him?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: mpcltd December 04, 2004, 12:06:12 AM
That is some reply!

This seller clearly doesn't know Ben - they didn't mention anything Pink.

Ben is right don't buy from them  :o

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 04, 2004, 01:16:59 AM

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: mpcltd December 04, 2004, 01:20:12 AM
Keep Bidding You Have A Serious Way To Go yet!! ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 04, 2004, 01:24:14 AM
When I saw you bidding, I knew I would have a long way to go ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: kbmum December 04, 2004, 01:27:03 AM
Why am I not seeing MPC's bid?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 01:27:53 AM
Cant blame MPC though, such a valuable card  ::)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 04, 2004, 01:28:59 AM
MPC - I brought your bid up higher.  May keep going too ;)

kbmum - no clue why you don't see his bid  Are you looking at the auction Ben put up?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 01:33:22 AM
looks like that wasp1968 character bidded  ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: kbmum December 04, 2004, 01:39:26 AM
I see it now.  My computer's been acting funny since we changed our phone service from a regular land line to access through the Internet.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: olly December 04, 2004, 02:22:37 AM
Done! ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 04, 2004, 02:33:16 AM
wow, I am now the high bidder at $2,026.00!!!  I have never bid so much in my life!!!!

I take that back.  MPC just outbid me yet again.........

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 04:17:58 AM
WOW Ben!! :o :o :o

I'm so sad to this seller has stooped so low ~ I'm only glad the items I bought from him earlier on this year were (relatively) inexpensive compared to this ... and to use such language is totally unnecessary and uncalled for :-\

HeHe .... might just take your bid that little bit higher MPC *insert devil icon here*

Mwahahahahaha!!!

Go on Ben ... kick his @rse!! :D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 04:24:21 AM
Good grief Richard ... just how high DID you bid on it?!! :o :o :o

 :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 04, 2004, 04:27:26 AM
Well, this high bid amount with 6 days to go is sure to get people'a attention.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 04:31:12 AM
No doubt about it ... unless eBay pulls the plug on the listing of course :-\

I've never bid an amount like that ever ... frightening! :o

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 04, 2004, 04:42:53 AM
I know what you mean.  I was the high bidder at $2026.00 for about 1 minute.  It's funny, I know I would not have to pay, but my heart sunk.  There is no way I would be able to pay something like that and it was scary just seeing the bid confirmation in my email.

Even if the auction gets pulled, I hope it gets enough attention to at least help a few people before bidding on the other auction.  If anyone DID bid on that one, I am curious to know if they end up with a second chance offer.....

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 04:54:27 AM
if ebay pulls i will continue listing it, if they suspend me ill make new names and list again and shill bid lol

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 04:56:05 AM
my other plan is i am going to win benjamin bloods auction, and email him something to piss him off, *pfft* these ebayers sending me nasty emails, this is what they get ::)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 05:15:57 AM
Jeez I didn't even think about second chance offers! ::)

Sounds like it's "goin' to a bumpy ride" Ben!! :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 05:33:26 AM
bloody hell MPC has bid a fair bit  ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 05:37:18 AM
He He hasn't he just! ;)

Bless!! :D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 05:50:39 AM
s'truth ... that's a scary amount of money that's been bid by MPC! :o :o :o

I'm sure we won't be using the results from your *cough* auction in the Price Guide Ben :P

Hope you've got plenty of names to use on eBay too! ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: HagridsHut December 04, 2004, 05:56:05 AM
Yes its good to see that Mr Blood is now receiving the level of derision he truly deserves, speaking as a guy who has suffered his foul mouthed abuse, i think it is about time he was removed from ebay before some poor people get conned out of lots of money >:(

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: mpcltd December 04, 2004, 05:59:37 AM
Keep Goin Keep Goin! ;) ;) ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 06:09:37 AM
What I don't get is 'why'?
He seemed fine when I dealt with him ~ or maybe he's just got greedy ... seen how much some of the cards have been fetching and decided he wanted a cut?

Guess we'll never know :-\

~~*~~

So Hagrid, you going to up the bidding? ;)
Just think of it this way ~ it might be the only chance you'll ever get to place an outrageous bid and be certain that you won't have to go through with the transaction!! :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 06:15:33 AM
OMG!!!! :o :o :o

"US $8,000.00 (Approximately £4,135.76)"
6 days 17 hours
7-day listing

You're crackers the pair of ya!! ::)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Tower December 04, 2004, 07:48:21 AM
Nice game.  ;D

But congrats to Samwise16. You have my full respect for this great way to warn others of this ugly seller. Please keep going on. He should never get any money for items he doesn´t have.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: savage727 December 04, 2004, 08:22:48 AM
Ben:

I think you should rename yourself to "Samwise the Brave" after our courageous Sam in the LOTR's!!   :)  Nice work and a tip of the hat on your handling of Mr. Blood!!   8)

As to your auction - how does a $20,000 bid sound?   ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 04, 2004, 01:06:45 PM
I saw this and couldn't stop laughing for ages! I'll join in, but don't expect a cheque for a quarter of a million dollars any time soon.... you will be sorely disappointed
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ben, I salute you
 ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Roz December 04, 2004, 05:01:37 PM
To be fair the best thing is if one of us wins it! Then Ben can claim back the ending fees on the basis that he "mutually agreed not to sell/purchase" his fake auto :P

So keep going :P We don't want an outsider winning ;)

The only thing is that if it gets really high I think it will attract the attention of the ebay authorities!

*By the way it hasn't slipped my attention that Ben always does things like - wear pink rings, or set up interesting auctions when I am on the train on the way home for the weekend... attention seeking? I think so :P

 ;D

Gotta love you little bro Ben ;)

Nice one!

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 04, 2004, 05:26:48 PM
NO probs at all... I am having quite a bit of fun bidding amounts that would pay for my entire education and more

The fact we are rubbing benjaminblood's face/reputation into the mud is also a bonus 8)

Imagine... if he came to this board... he'd be shredded into pieces ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Roz December 04, 2004, 05:32:00 PM
lol

Anyone adding this Triple to  TYS price guide will be force fed Olly and Kay's Max's dry food for a week  :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 04, 2004, 05:43:32 PM
ROFL... given my insane bid amount (which would easily buy ALL existing triples), that would bias the average price for it ever so slightly... ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Roz December 04, 2004, 06:00:22 PM
Yeah - I think Olly has a REAL one going spare he'll sell at the knockdown price of £200,000 if anyone's interested??

 ;D

(Olly you owe me 90% for advertising there)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 06:13:39 PM
hee hee i'm not fussed if ebay boot the username samwise16 with 0 feedback, to be honest, 'samwise18' sounds quite nice  ::)

 ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 04, 2004, 06:17:48 PM
Do you reckon you could give me a discount on shipping if I win? ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 06:29:54 PM
The cheek  ::)
I want to leave it to the end and take the ebay fees and dont pay them lol then leave posistive feedback for whoever wins lol, I dont think roz will like that idea  ::)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 06:33:32 PM
I'm kinda worried that Ztaylork is still in with the bidding, one dude dropped out after seeing my listing is was $655 now its on $330 so its working.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 04, 2004, 06:54:24 PM
Maybe Zach hasn't had chance to drop in here and see what you're doing Ben?  :o

Maybe email/PM him and give him the 'head's up'? ;)

 Just a thought .... ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: bryanc20 December 04, 2004, 07:26:57 PM
Hi to you all

I have a triple card on ebay at the moment - 6134246979. The worrying thing is that BENJAMINBLOOD is from LEEDS, UK which is where I live!!!
I just wanted you guys to know that he is NOTHING to do with me !!!!

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 04, 2004, 07:52:38 PM

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Almath December 04, 2004, 08:29:42 PM
The person who retracted their bid's name is Keegan. Runs a business called comics to astonish in the US. Great seller had many good deals from them. I've sent an email directing them to Ben's auction so they can see whats going on.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Almath December 04, 2004, 09:50:57 PM
Ye Ben I'm still collecting LOTR. I missed out on boxes/cases of trilogy as Cards Inc had there order cut by 90% as you probably know. Managed to pick up a
full set of autos for 200 quid at Memorabilia though.
BTW you do know that Christopher Lee is at the Cinema store in two weeks?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: hockeyron December 05, 2004, 01:13:47 AM

If you have software that lets you do  it  it might be a good idea to  put you're ebay account name on your scans ...

this way no one can steal or borrow your scan since you're name is on it  and if they stole the scan and tried to erase or change the name it would be clearly visible ....

you could place it below the card or cards  so it does'nt interfere with them  ....

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: HagridsHut December 05, 2004, 01:22:21 AM
Hey i have just placed a bid and upped FTY bid to loads of money.
Hope he gets a discount on shipping ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Roz December 05, 2004, 01:24:42 AM
Hi HockeyRon

Actually the scan was watermarked, that's why Benjamin's scan makes Ron's auto look like his pen was running out :P It's because the card is so blank in the background of the Triple - he just whited it out! If you look carefully on the bits that have coloured printing you can still see the logo - anyway this is how it looked before he edited it!

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Roz December 05, 2004, 01:27:18 AM
$1,500,000 ??

Somewhere I can hear the sound of champagne corks popping (at the Artbox offices where they didn't go to the trouble of actually checking what the auction is for :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: HagridsHut December 05, 2004, 01:35:45 AM
hurray i am the high bidder, just couldn't resist outbidding FTY ;D ;D ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: C0r1 December 05, 2004, 02:19:29 AM
getting damned pricey! thats a rip off, you should have put the water mark on top.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller

FANTASTIC Ben!!!!!   ;D  I love it!! This seller rips off people ALL the time, hopefully now people can be warned before they deal with him!

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 05, 2004, 09:50:04 PM
How rude Hagrid's Hut - you know that we have a code where we don't outbid each other?

The cheek! ;) :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 05, 2004, 10:04:10 PM
I can't believe how high this has gone!! This is insane!!  I must say, I am truly enjoying watching this.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 05, 2004, 11:44:09 PM
Ive had some nice emails apart from one asking what the auction is selling lol

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ford-prefect December 06, 2004, 03:21:49 AM
thats gonna cost a lot in ebay fees if the auction isn't ended early. isn't it 5% of the final bid price?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: olly December 06, 2004, 03:32:04 AM
Does anyone else find it strange that benjaminblood is bidding on this auction?  ???

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Nienna December 06, 2004, 03:58:44 AM
Strange?? :o :o :o

"Strange" doesn't even cover how odd it is Olly! ::)

I'm still wondering how long eBay will allow the auction to continue too ... the amounts have gone from the ridiculous to the sublime! :P

I must admit to enjoying watching this auction too! ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: samwise16 December 06, 2004, 01:32:45 PM
sorry, had to delete his bids, what a retard, i think he wants to run it up as far as he can and continue to bid in the final hours so its makes it difficult for me delete bids. I've blocked him from bidding so that should prevent it. for bidding on my auction im going to have to get him back and win his auction just to laugh at him  ;D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: ferdinand_the_yak December 06, 2004, 02:02:24 PM
I think he may have done the same thing for you as well though - blocking you from bidding on his auction. What you could do is create a new account and start jacking up the price on his auction without him knowing its you!

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: MakTheYak December 06, 2004, 02:22:22 PM
getting damned pricey! thats a rip off, you should have put the water mark on top.

Sadly it's all automatic - the image goes in and whenever it's called a watermarked image comes out. No choice of location :s

I think he may have done the same thing for you as well though - blocking you from bidding on his auction. What you could do is create a new account and start jacking up the price on his auction without him knowing its you!

Nice idea! I'm all up for that! What have you got to lose?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Roz December 06, 2004, 05:58:27 PM
I guess they figure if your "non card" is worth 5 million smackers that this has to be worth something

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=73570&item=6136653244&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I would have been rich - if only I'd kept all these that I threw away :P

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: kbmum December 06, 2004, 06:25:10 PM
This is easy enough -- anyone with a paper cutter and a few, spare, dozen base sets can replicate the same, stunning results!  :D

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 06, 2004, 09:06:22 PM
I noticed the auction ended.  Did anyone on this forum win it?  I also see that ztaylork had the second highest bid, so I must ask....did you get a second chance offer?

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: olly December 06, 2004, 09:39:32 PM
An eBayer whos ID used to be fat.ferengi won the card.

They sold a lot of POAU on release.

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Error401 December 06, 2004, 09:45:36 PM
Fat.ferengi = 501Cards

Yes we sold all our Update in the first few days after it came out (Thank god seeing as how the prices went after the first few days)

Yes we were also the people selling the Update sets at a Quid at Memorbilia

I am trying to arrange to meet Mr Blood  ::) to collect the card from him and pay cash in the next few days.

This is the problem when photos get used without permission, you never know when its genuine do

Will elt you know if the card ever appears

Richard (Vicky is away)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: olly December 06, 2004, 10:08:15 PM
Never even heard of 501 cards. ::)

And I didn't see you at Memorabilia either  ::)

May I ask why you are buying such a rare card from a seller with
a bad reputation? You don't have to answer of course  :)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Roz December 06, 2004, 10:08:15 PM
Hi Richard. That sounds advisable, I wouldn't part with the cash myself til I had the card in this instance.

Obviously I'd be green eyed if you get the card for the money but I wouldn't hold my breath in this instance ;)

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: Error401 December 06, 2004, 10:11:57 PM
Well, there is only one reason to buy the card from said seller "Price"!

If it is genuine and comes in then its a bargain,  if its not the most I can lose is a 30 min jolly up the M1 to Leeds.

Still waiting for an Email from Him, keeping an open mind till then,

Me thinks I will request his contact details from Ebay and give his telephone a call if I don't get an email back from him today

Cheers

Richard

: Re:Dicy Triple seller
: rns91294 December 06, 2004, 10:15:39 PM

Ah Well you is just showing your lack of age and experience then  ;D ;D

You have to go back to when Darren sold cards out of the Conservatory at his Mums house rather than a warehouse for the history of 501Cards  8)

Oh is it really all those years ago, Stop its making me feel old! Sob >:(

You are a very modern man Olly and they are from before your time  :) I remember the booklet they used to do and send out - photocopied with price lists...

I had never heard of these sorts of cards and to get a base set for £3, well frankly I thought I was in heaven! When they had a special offer and I bought a Thunderbirds base set for £2 (this was the last Thunderbirds set :P so this is DONKEYS years ago) for my Brother I thought it rocked  :)

Ahh a child card collector - it was certainly my fate to run this forum ;)

LOL not experience that's for sure - Olly has card feedback coming out of his ears (really... it's most disconcerting when you are trying to have a conversation with him ;))

Ah Roz,

You bring Back memories,  1990 ProSet Thunderbirds,  how I remember them,

I was living in Enfield, North London, and went to a local industrial esate to get some empty plastic boxes for stock and the factory manager took me to a back room and showed me over 50 cases of rather grubby Proset boxes of Thunderbirds, I had never seen so many cards (They were sealing them for Proset when they went bust!),

Anyway he gave me the lot for a fiver  (2 transits full!)

So I broke some, real sod to make sets they were! and traded the rest to Darren for a load of Star Trek TNG Seasons that were out that week (Season 2 me thinks),  anyway that allowed me to sell them cheap.. memories!   And I Still feel old  >:(

darn it is a long time,

Thinking back to my First show in London at Westminster Hall (Jason Joiners , long gone now),  My Eldest daughter was 6 months old in a carry cot under the table at the show, as we broke CCG cards! (Star Trek & Magic),

She is 13 now and was selling for us on the stall at the NEC! Last Week  Help where did the years go

You guys should certainly introduce yourselves... did you see the yak shack banner  at memorabilia :-\

Are you going to be there in April?

Hi Roz

No I didn't see the banner,

I really did not do a lot of walking around, I had only been back in the UK 18 hours and it had been a bad 28 hour trip in so I really didn't leave the tables much on Saturday,

On Sunday we had the Kids with us although John The Hat looked after our youngest most of the time (Sucker  ;D ) and the eldest was busy selling on the stand,

The NEC was the 1st show for 3 years for us,  and it really was mainly to clear a pile of stuff that was building up, I doubt we will be there in April,

If we do it next year it will probably be the November one again. (Depends on work commitments we both get called away on short notice).

And cards is just fun for us now thank goodness!, We broke 6 cases of the Potter Update and cleared £600 profit!  Awful really, I would not like to try and live off sets like that

But you never know when we will turn up at an NEC or something similar if the right pile of "Stock" turns up and we have the time (It's mopre fun when its not your living anymore)!

Cheers

Richard
