Also please do come forward if you have any suggestions for scanning/picturing the LOTR Trilogy cards?

Sounds like a great idea Roz!   :)  Do you envision all of the Topps LOTR's sets in the Price Guide?  I hope so.   :)

Trilogy sounds fine - but what about FOTR and TT? Those cards have really dried up and I don't think enough turn up on ebay for us to make a decent collation

True but even one value over time would do!

It's like Mark says - at first it would be more of a catalogue showing pics of each card in the set and explaining details and then we could add prices as and when they turn up...

I have a stack of prices for Legolas FOTR and Legolas TTT plus some of the other FOTR's from eBay auctions. These date back to January 2003.

I just checked with the Price Guide, to try and enter a couple but...

I live in Canada and recorded the closing price in whatever currency, the auction was run with and the Canadian equivalent at that closing date. Alot of the auctions are in USD but some are in GBP. What do you suggest? I could see if I can find a list of currency conversion by date somewhere on the web..it must exist....but where?

Thanks Chico, I'll work on that and get it ready for you - but I leave for memo in 3 hours and I still have part of a chapter of my thesis to finish off  :-[ so I will sort it when I get back late on Sunday!

I don't believe it. Apart from a master auto set and a Gandalf and Saruman, there are NO FOTR autograph cards AT ALL on ebay (US/UK/AUS)

People are starting to hold onto them!

I think you might be seeing people who purchased these cards as an asset to be sold as oppossed to collectors.  I believe there are only so many cards out there and we might be seeing the drying up of those who bought just to sell.  Now you will see from time to time people who sell off their collections for a number of reasons and those cards will come up on the market.

I am going to be interested to see what the market is like in 6 months especially after the ROTK EE comes and goes as there will be nothing to fuel the LOTR's collectible market as far as I can see.  

I agree, most people realised that after ROTK most of the cards would not appreciate in value anymore and if they had bought them for profit's sake, have gotten rid of them. Its good to know that the rest are in good hands as memorabilia and not a profit making venture (not that there is anything wrong with that!). I don't foresee me selling any of my cards except maybe a couple of duplicates. Especially not the FOTR ones. I am keeping an eye out for any that may pop up!

Yep, I do think that the FOTR autos are going to show up less and less on eBay as well as even the 2000 or so of the common autos have pretty much filtered down into collector hands.  
  I don't ever plan to sell any of my autos save one which I have been holding for just that purpose when the time is right..........
