: The mixed ebay reaction to PoA U and it's effect on PoA

Hi guys!

In my new role as "chief verifier of auctions" on the price guide site I get to see a lot of the latest prices of these cards. And can I say that I am intregued by what is happening with the PoA (classic) set whilst the PoAU set prices have bombed!

Although there was at least one blip in the PoA (classic) prices ($65 for a Lupin auto - ouch) and the sealed box price seems to have dipped to $150 instead of the $200 it has been (probably because everyone has a lot of money tied up in the new set right now) I have seen some interesting prices... and I think they have been from a forum member's selling list :P

A NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM AUTO FOR $88!

This was going for $25 upon release!!!

A SIRIUS AUTO FOR $200 (well this has always been around $150 but this is a nice high auction price).

So what do you guys think this means. Has anyone else noticed any other changes in the prices of original set cards?

Cheers

Roz

Hey watch how you talk about my Longbottom auction! :P

There is absolutely no doubt that the prices of these cards have risen quite a bit. I have sold quite a bit the "classic" cards (not on ebay) and have done well. It seems as though it's getting a bit harder to find some of the props and autos from the first set- sirius, honeydukes candy, ect...

Maybe it's just me, but I have noticed a bit of an uptick for the Update prices.  Has anyone else noticed?

I've noticed it, too.  It hasn't happened so much for the higher-numbered cards, but the props and filmcards seem to be selling for a bit more than a couple of weeks ago.

One of my Cell Cards (Harry + Hedwig) have the FilmCell "Upside down" in it.

Did that happen often?

Not that I have heard of - but they make all sorts of mistakes making these things - in a Trilogy Film Frame, Ben had Gandalf the White in his FOTR slot!
