Hey folks,

The way I see it this forum is populated by a few types of people,

1) Chatty dealers who are keeping in touch with their "public" (if this is you you are in a minority - so feel treasured)

2) Dabblers in dealing - pretty much the same as above but you might collect too

3) The hopeless public who come here in desperation for more info on sets that are out and to see if anyone is selling anything (I am in this catagory)

4) Those with mild interest

5)... "am I signed up for TheYakShack forums??? I had no idea"

etc etc

Now I know that there are some forums who don't like people advertising what they are selling or showing off their ebay IDs in the thought that it gives "unfair publicity" but I personally think it gives very fair publicity! If anyone in catagories 1-3 comes on here, makes the effort to chat to us and exchange information and pictures of rare cards etc, I think the opportunity to get some free publicity for their cards is what we should offer in return for their time, effort and obvious dedication!

So I vote that the forum policy should be that as long as you don't advertise your cards in all the wrong places and in inappropraite threads and forums you are more than welcome to add a link to your seller ID or a special topic in the "Diagon Alley" or "Prancing Poly" forums.

Does anyone have any strong objections to this idea? Because this is a forum run by LOTR and HP card fans for other LOTR and HP card fans so your opinion is important  Smiley

Not sure how I feel being in category 3 - the 'hopeless public' Tongue

But I don't have any issues with dealers advertising here... gives us more options for getting cards and we can discuss who we have had good experiences with... and bad ones, I guess, but hopefully not Cool

Oops!

Sorry - I love you all in Category 3 cos you are in the same boat as me...

if you are a fan of Mark's Pirates comic you will know that the boat, the Buckleswash is at the bottom of Davey Jones' locker thanks to some woodworm.... so we don't have a boat at all  Roll Eyes  :'(
