Strange ebay email

I've just opened my inbox, to find an email title "Question from eBay Member", which I thought was strange cos I dont have anything for sale at the moment.  Opened it up, this is what it said:
"Dear starcat20,

Hi will ya be keen on the following? It's a set of rare 55 harry potter calendar cards Regards, Dennis http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3857993560&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Please respond to the question on eBay by clicking the button below.

Why on earth would they know I like Harry Potter, and why send me an email like that?

Perhaps he's done a search on completed auctions for Harry Potter postcards and made a note of who bid on what and then decided to do a bit of advertising for his own auctions?

I've dealt with this seller a couple of times and the items I had from him were lovely ... beautifully packaged too (which I have a bit of a 'thing' about LOL)

I dont doubt that the seller is trustworthy, its just a bit strange cos Ive never bid on harry potter postcards of any sort...only an Update hobby box, and ive never bought from this seller.  Its a strange way to advertise

True and I can understand why you're unsettled.
I've received odd emails from time to time from people offering me items similar to those I've bid on and lost, but I must admit yours is a strange one if you've never bid on anything like them previously.
I'd just ignore it then and delete it from your inbox.

If it makes you feel any better, I got the same exact message.  I bid on Hp cards and boxes, so that is obviously how this seller got our ids.  I must say, if I have a question about a seller, I might go and see who bought items from them n the past, and maybe even send a message to those people and ask a question about the seller, so that is how you would get a subject of "question for eBay memeber".  Anyway, all this person did was click on your id, and then clisk on "send this member a message" or whatever it says.  But I got it too, and I never bid on postcards either.
