These are some of the cards from two factory sealed cases of LOTR Masterpieces II that I found in my storage shed. When they were first released I was heavy into the new Harry Potter cards and I had forgotten about them. Then my wife, in a "get this mess organized" frenzy, had me and my son move a bunch of boxes from "MY (yeah, right.) Man Cave" out to the shed. If you remember, these boxes only had a number code on them, #404-081H, nowhere does it say LOTR, etc. or even Topps. The years went bye. Then, last weekend in another "get this mess organized" frenzy, they came to light. Imagine my surprise when I opened the first case.

If anyone recognizes the any of the artist, I'd appreciate some ID help, thanks.
I know Ray Lago did one of them. There doesn't seem to be any Shums here.

#2 Grant Gould
#3 Josh Howard
#7 Jason Keith Phillips
#8 Ray Lago

Can you see the signature better on cards 1 and 6?  I remember everyone complaining about that artist, but can't remember his name.

Thanks for the info. Someone told me #1 and #5 are Brent Woodside.
#6 has a "CHOP" type looks like BB or BR in a square form on the lower right corner.

Thanks Bryan. That only leaves # 4. Could #4 be Jason Potratz?

Amazing. I listed the second case on ebay and it sold in <24 minutes. I guess sealed cases are very desirable. And an ebayer in Belgium bought it. WOW!

I was surprised because there is box listed now, bid at a whopping $8.50!

Congrats John! I'm surprised there is still interest in this set... the number of sketches have been down and not fetching as high prices as before which is to be expected.

Re. the box auction - wouldn't help their case that they ship within the US only Roll Eyes
