Has anyone ever sent anything to Norway? Well, I sold something(obviously) to someone in Norway, and shipped in Dec. 12th.  I got a message yesterday saying the item had not been received.  I wondered if there was anything I didn't know about, such as customs, etc.

Also, I'm open to advice about how to handle this - I shipped the item via regular airmail. Thanks.

I think the question is you shipped it from which country to Norway?  If it was from the US, then the only thing the customs form number can give you is when it was shipped from the post office.  I've occasionally gotten more information, but not often...  Odds are good it's still stuck in the holiday mail - sometimes it takes 8 weeks to get out from under all that mail...

I have a good customer in Norway.

On the first order it took over 8 weeks to clear Norwegian customs.

Since then we've found that a packing slip on the outside of the package speeds things up considerably.  Although I would imagine that would be hard with a small packet.  But for the larger ones we regularly get 3 week or less time in transit now.

I have had limited luck tracking packages with the customs form number.  Sometimes it stops at the border (ie which airport it departed), but I have had many times that it says it's held by customs, which is a good bit of information if you are afraid it's lost completely.  Customs is usually just a time and money problem, at least it's not lost.
