Say it again, Bryan -- FAAAAAAAABULOUS!

JK is starting to get a bit testy about the criticism.  At a Toronto news conference yesterday, she said, "He is my character. He is what he is and I have the right to say what I say about him."

Bryan!  That's great! And yes, Dumbledore's silver robes are FAAAAAABULOUS. 

That's interesting, Cindy. I guess she's taking more heat over this than I thought, if she feels the need to get protective.

I guess as an explanation as to why she did not place his sexuality earlier in the books, JK basically said it was because Dumbledore's infatuation was a key part to the ending of the story and said, "Why would I put the key part to my ending of my story in Book 1?"

More publicity? Why? She has enough money to support the next 5 generations of her family!

I don't really care either way about the announcement. If it was an attempt to rile up the more conservative religious types (Christian, Muslim, whatever), then all I can say is *yawn*

I had to laugh at this a little bit. Sure, she has the right to say what she wants to, but she should realize that her success means that the characters no longer "belong" exclusively to her. She retains trademarks on commercial use of them, but millions of us have our own ideas about the characters, Dumbledore included.

For instance, even though she says that it was pure coincidence that "Severus Snape" is an anagram for "Perseus Evans," I'm positive that adolescent Snivellus would have figured it out and probably even penned (if not sent) secret love-letters to Lily under the Perseus nickname.

I know this is a little late but I just loved that picture Bryan  .

I couldn't agree more, after all it was speculation and the readers own imagination that sold millions of books and kept Harry alive between books.
