Not sure if this is the right thread, But ........

Express mail from the USA is handled via Parcelforce 24 when it arrives in the United Kingdom

Is the service Parcelforce 24 only available Monday to Friday or Saturday as well? If anyone knows it would be a great help!

I know on the Parcelforce website it says Saturday delivery is £12 extra but does that include things coming on from the outside the UK?

Parcelforce don't deliver on Saturday unless you request it and pay the fee

Hi

It is possible to collect from PF depot on a Saturday. They're normally open till 12:30. So If you've had an attempted delivery and they've left a card you can collect yourself. No £12 fee.

OK, So my parcel is offically in the UK today. However, on the tracking page it says "Awaiting Customs Charging"

So i'm going to get charged something, does anyone know if the cost will appear on the parcelforce tracking page as I know you can pay the fee's online?

As I normally leave a note on the door to leave the package next door if I go out and I don't want the guy knocking with a customs fee.

Last time I had 'Awaiting Customs Charging' I searched the website but couldn't find the charge anywhere.  I ended up waiting for a card to be left saying there was charges and Dad went and picked it up and paid there.

I know our one is quite early, something like 4.30 pm, hence the daddy collection  Smiley.  And be prepared for all the new added charges - collection of cash fee, handling of cash fee, getting up in the morning fee  Hopping Mad.  Ok I just made up these titles but it annoys me so much how much we get ripped off on imports.  I wouldn't mind if we could buy the stuff here but we can't  Hopping Mad

Parcel force no longer send out parcels that have charges they write to you and you have to pay them up front then they will release it for delivery

So if you get charges it may take til tues to get the letter and if you pay it before 7 pm I think it will come out to you the next day

In my experience trying to ring the depot is like platting fog

Press 1 if you want to ..................
press 2 if you want to ..................
press 3 if you want to ..................

what I want to hear is press 1 if you want to speak to a real person

I am not really sure if you ring them and actually get through I am sure they will tell you if you can it has to be worth a try

Thanks for the quick reply Chris

I got through to them on Friday night, took a good 10 mins with all the menus and by time they answered!

I spent 3 hours on hold once with parcelforce I eventually got through only to be told it was too late for them to deal with my problem and to ring back the next morning.

I really don't think much of their service at the depot

but my delivery driver is great he has got to know me over the years and brings my parcels to where I work if i am not at home.

It will update 24/7. Your status will update once it arrived in the UK. My parcel has had the same status for 8 days now.

Which is being handed over from the USA to UK

I don't know if it works at every depot, but their "secret code to reach a real human" is to punch "*" and then "*" again instead of the options they give you.

I used to know the back-door code for our United Parcel Service depot. Usually these places have one but they tend not to share it freely ... The Parcelforce trick was posted on an internet discussion recently, so probably they'll change it sooner or later. (When in doubt and totally frustrated, try all of the phone keypad combinations you can think of.)

We don't have Parcelforce over here, so it's your asterisk, not mine.   Lips Sealed
