Yesterday, I received a back issue of the June/July 2004 Non-Sport Update that has an article about the HP set. Since the magazine was printed prior to the release of the set, there are some inaccuracies in the story, but also some very interesting info.
It said that the props have serial numbers because of Warner Brothers' and Artbox's "high security concerns." Each box is guaranteed to contain a complete base set and either a costume or prop. (IMHO, if anyone got a dud box, it might be worth contacting Artbox.)
Here's a surprise: "Quidditch costumes for Harry and Ron have already been secured." Someone got their Weasleys confused, since Ron doesn't play Quidditch in the film. But, since Artbox has Harry's robe, maybe we'll see it in the update.
There's a picture of the Weasley Quidditch robe, with "Weasley," "5," a star, and yellow stripes on the back, and also a picture of a black robe (no caption, so I don't know whether it belongs to Harry, Ron, or Hermione).
