I clicked on the link, but the thread no longer exists.  Did you delete it, Dawn?  If not, maybe a mod thought that the other people who posted were far too rude.  Some people just don't know how to be nice and they aren't worth your time.

I agree with kbmum, some folks think that the net gives them a right to be rude, personaly I tend to ignore them or consider that they are as relevant as something scraped off the sole of my shoe  ROFL!

Yeah, I used to go to that site years ago. I think it has gone down hill big time. It closes at 12 because it moderated, shame they didn't see me being told to go in no uncertain terms.

Oh well I think I will stay in the warm and comfy shack in future, will anyone here talk ghosties?

I was about to sign up for a screen name and tell them that they all suck, but you seem to have it under control.  Grin
I would say that I don't believe in ghosts, but mainly because the thought of it scares the wee-wee out of me.  Demons, yes.  I believe in them and wouldn't know how to tell the difference one from another.
I'm looking for a video of a Ghost Hunters episode though, that supposidly shows an apparition in the lighthouse in St. Augustine Florida.  I went to college in St. Augustine and have been up in the lighthouse a bunch of times.  The city is the oldest permanent settlement in the U.S. (yes, older than Jamestown), and hauntings are reported all over the place.  If you get a chance to rent a Ghost Hunters video, it's pretty cool.  They don't find ghosts at every location.  Most of the time they debunk the stories, but occassionaly they find something.  The balance and fairness of thier investigation makes it more believable to me.  I'm not into psychics at all.

(((((((((((((( Big HUg )))))))))))))))))   some people put there fingers into  gear before there brain can activate  We all love  you here

As for ghosts i  had my life saved by one so i would have to say i believe . One night my dad and his friends where  using a weegee board( i know that is the wrong spelling ) and holding a seince  i was in the  bath i was 1 and 1/2 at the time  and  one of dad's friends teenage daughter was suppose to be watching me  she had left the room and i had laid down in the bath and fallen asleep   out in the  other part of the house the lounge room  where dad and his friends where they asked the weegee board a question but it started moving to the letters on it's own and it spelt out  child about to die  . of course dad  got up and ran to the bathroom and there i was sound asleep and had slid down the bath until the water was starting to enter my mouth .

of course you can imagine what happened afterwards according to dad and  his friends they throw the weegee board away and never spoke of the incident until  David ( dad's friend told me about it at my wedding )  and they all swear it was true

let me know what you think

Oh Dawn, I'm sorry! What eejits! (Jules and I must stop trying to get around the censors like this and setting a bad example ROFL!)

Quote from: Dawn sez
Ghosts electricity and radio waves

Are they connected? Do electric fields help or make you see a ghost? Do they affect your brain to make you see things or if ghosts exist do they use them to make themselves seen? There is supposed to be a ghost at work and the spot he has been seen is right by where the electric live is, and I wondered if they might be connected. Also Bluebell hill area is supposed to be haunted and that is next to a massive transmitter. Also laylines have been said to play their part.

What do you think?

Your ghost is a monk Dawn? Well, I may be a non-believer (in terms of ghosts), but there's no harm in looking back to try to trace why! You could ask at the Land Registry what the land was used for previous to 1940. If you give me the postcode (I'm not suggesting you post it here... sure the Shack seems innocuous enough but it's better to be safe than sorry eh? You just never know who's a-lurking) I can always take a look.

Oh Dawn I have only just seen this, but I have the perfect person to send around to sort him out......

I am not sure about the electrical theory - sightings of spirits go back to cave man days, unless they can tune into the electricity in the human body.  It could be that a high intensity of electric makes it easier for them to come through but I personally go more for the individual person being the deciding factor.

Kelly if you, can get hold of the episode of Dead Famous which was shot on the QEII.  It is an English presenter and an American psychic who try to contact famous dead people.  Well on this episode I do genuinely think they captured 'something' on camera.  There was another episode about the most haunted house in the US but I can't remember where it was.  I still go cold when I think about that one, they definitely filmed a man standing right beside them but swore afterwards no one was there.  I may be gullible but I believed them.

It sounds like Ghost Hunters is like most haunted. I do like to watch them although they don't usually find much, I don't get excited by orbs. We are going to see the medium Derek Acorah on the first on feb.

As for my works ghost, there was a priory in my town not sure where. I'll email you the post code, it is just off the high street though. My mum did see a figure in the town in a cloak, she thought it was a normal person but neithr dad nor I saw them and I was looking out of the bottom of the glass window and ground level where you would have seen thier feet.

That's proof in you need it Marcia  Shocked

My dad saw a group of Victorians heading towards a motorway once  Shocked

I may have seen a ghost at Hampton Court Palace but I'm not 100% sure

I was about to sign up for a screen name and tell them that they all suck, but you seem to have it under control.  Grin

BTW!!!! LOVE that new pic in your signature!!!  Shocked Kiss Wink

I couldn't resist

Love the dalek Sharon, only I think its had a bit too much to drink Wink

Anyone else got some ghosty stories?

I don't think I have seen a ghost, as I have said there was only a possiblity that I saw one going up some stairs at Hampton Court but I think it might just have been a trick on my eyes. Everyone else in my family seems to have seen one  Sad

One interesting thing, my godmother works in an old folks home and one day she actually saw a mist lift away from a person who had just passed away, she beleives it was that persons soul leaving their body, which is slightly different from ghosts (which are often just replays although not always).
