Does anyone have a complete list of which costume cards have screen-worn material and which have material used in the making? I don't really bother with the latter, so I'm just trying to figure out what cards not to get.  |

BC1 Slytherin Tie - Worn Ci1 Fleur's Yule Ball Dress - Worn Ci2 Voldermort's Cloak - NOT worn C1 - NOT worn C2 - NOT worn C3 - NOT worn C4 - NOT worn C5 - Worn C6 - Worn C7 - NOT worn C8 - Worn C9 - Worn C10 - Worn C11 - Worn C12 - Worn C13 - Worn C14 - Worn C15 - Worn I read from the backs of the cards that I have pulled. All in all, not too bad, 13 out of 18 were wron by the artist. |

Thanks for the list Spider  Hopefully the C11 will be screen-worn - I think It's one of the nicest costumes in the set. A bit off-topic, but what does everyone else think of material 'used in the making'? I can't really see the point (or appeal) of it. Sure, some of the cards look really nice, but doesn't it just defeat the whole point of costume cards? |

The way I look at it, it's better than not having costumes. There isn't much Artbox can do if Warner Bros. won't release the costumes to be used in cards.  |

The LOTR series had costume cards that were all 'material used in the making of' and people still went nuts over them. I prefer screen worn items as well, but I understand that in some cases its not possible especially for the more expensive items that are reused (Dumbledore's robes). But if they start using 'material used for the making of' for things like sweatshirt, black robes and pink tops, then I quit |

It certainly is a interesting debate, I personally dont think it should have that much of an effect purely based on the fact that the item is still authentic and obviously limited as the cards are all individually numbered also i could never really grasp the concept of why because a piece of costume was in contact with the actor or seen on screen it would be amazingly more valuable. Back when I started collecting I can remember there being no costume cards and I would pay upto £40 for a case topper or a set of the chase cards. So I think that any kind of authenticated costume card is great.
Also as another insight my uncle Brian played an extra in GOF as one of the wizards in the painting seen behind harry in the common room just after he got the dragons egg he had only a couple of seconds on screen time but still had to have made a full and he assures me very heavy wizards robe made up. Every piece of off cut was collected and catalogued thus ensuring no black market memorabilia knocking around. This again just going to show the value of these cards and how hard and priviledged you are to get the tinyest piece of fabric worn or not.
If you were wondering my uncle is one of the Trial chamber Lawyers in the upcoming OOTP Film which he finished filming a couple of weeks ago.

It personally doesn't bother me whether it's screen worn or material used in the making of. I mean, it is preferable to have worn material, but costumes like Hermione's Yule Ball gown may one day be in a museum devoted to entertainment or simply to commerorate the Harry Potter franchise when it's all over, as this kind of thing has been done before. I could see all three of the main character's Yule ball outfits being saved for something special.
Like Bush said above--which was very interesting--to have even a small bit of costume and/or material is quite rare and very special. But I do agree that if they start doing material used in the making for black robes, then it's taking it too far.

In another thread somewhere there is a comment about Madame Maxime costume C4.
I have puled 7 of them and they puzzled me so I took them out into the bright sunlight and there are
definitly two different swatches. (Maybe more?)
One is a sort of violet-brown velvet (under flourescent lights looks dark purple) with longish plush.
The other is a Black short plush.
Anyone find anything else?

Doesn't look to me like the sleeves are sewn onto the top part. |

I'm not sure, it could well be a long sleeve silver top with a type of blue waistcoat over the that. Then again it could be a one piece top - it is quite common in the UK to have a casual top with different colour sleeves to the main body, particularly in sports wear. Either way I am just really pleased you can easily identify where the material comes from - I hate it when you can't see where the character even wore that colour |
