I have just started collecting HP cards, and wondered if someone could tell me where I could get hold of a GOF binder. I can't seem to find one anywhere.. are they really hard to get? Just my luck if they are, lol.

Hi Jenny!  Welcome to the Shack.   eBay has GoF binders listed.  The majority of the sellers are in the US though, but many will ship worldwide.  You just need to compare prices with the shipping charges to find out which seller would be best for you.

EDIT:   Jenny, I just remembered that you'll probably have to pay customs duty if you get a binder from the US, so maybe it would better to find a UK seller, then the duty would have already been paid on it.

Hi Jenny, welcome to the Shack 

I think you will have quite a hard time finding a binder in the UK unfortunately.  They didn't even have any at the last G Mex in Manchester ( Bogleg was looking for one for me and Jules).  If you do find any in the UK it might be worth paying a bit over the odds just to avoid the very high postage and, as Anna mentioned, the import duty.

Hi Jenny - welcome to the Yak Shack!

I ended up getting my GOF binder from the US in the finish. Provided the auction price doesn't go over $30 then you should be okay and not have to pay any import Duty on it - it works out to roughly £18 and you're allowed to bring in that amount to the UK without having to pay the extra 
CardsInc had them for sale for a while and took them off sale during the G-Mex exhibition, but I haven't checked to see if they've got them back in stock yet or not. I think they cost around £20 which is quite expensive for a binder (previous binders from other sets were less than this) - thing is, if you buy from the US by the time you've paid the shipping fees it will cost that and more ...

If you decide to collect the GOF update set, then get a binder from Tom (tomunique) as soon as he has them on sale - I waited a bit too long on getting mine from him and he'd sold out by the time I thought to ask him about having one (my own stupid fault).
Have a look on the CardsInc website but other than that, I doubt you'll find anyone in the UK that has any for sale, sorry.

Sounds like I'll just have to get a GOFU binder when they come out.  Hopefully they'll be as nice as the others!

I've had lots of stuff delivered from the US, most over £18, and I've never had to pay customs.. I wonder why? Is it because some places don't mark them as 'gift', so you have to pay?

If they are marked as 'gift' you are supposed to have up to £36 grace before being slapped around the head () for tax... as to why you haven't been taxed yet... well just keep your head down and hope for the best. Alas tax is a fact of life and gets us all in the end

Jenny we used to live in a blissful import tax free house many years ago but then they charged us for one package.  Then another.  Then another.  It seems that once they have your address on file you are more likely to get caught than if you import very rarely.
