Could the old guy be the Riddle's old Gardner?
Oh I wish it was but sadly the actor that plays the part, Eric Sykes, is nearly blind so I doubt if he would sign cards. He is a British institution and if he did sign .... well I think most Brits would be over the moon Could it be Lucius Malfoy - Jason Isaacs?

I dont think anybody would forget him I think it would be Fudge because he's in the movie twice, each time for about 10 seconds of screen time

Well at the risk of sounding like a UK Actor groupie, Robert Hardy would also make my day Just as another possible maybe how about Timothy Spall?

Key word here "Sisters".....blatently overlooked by the filmakers Big thanks to you, Sara for so scrupulously reviewing your visit to the show!!! Very informative and exciting! Don't you think that male sisters couldn't be any weirder?

Hermione's dress and McGonagal's Green Yule Ball costume are just material used in the making of. There will be more like this because WB is now wanting to keep the costumes in full. So they get what they can... *sigh* That is so very, very sad. Part of what was so cool about the Potter costume cards (well, to me anyway) was that they were screen worn and not just material used in the making of. Oi vey.

I may need to faint and sell the Yak Shack along with my dog (don't have one - will a stuffed one do?), my boyfriend (yup got one of those - any bidders?) and the family silver to get his auto

Does this boyfriend of yours do the dishes, vacuuming, dusting, and yardwork? Yup, he's as domesticated as they come (but needs to grr, or stretch in a manly way very occasionally whilst doing these tasks ), and he irons like he's from the 1950s and his life depended on him having the neatest flatest shirt at work Does he clean the pool as well?
As yet this is something the Yak6000 is untested for . But I do fully intend to test this someday ...and most importantly does he make a good cup of tea?... What a silly question would we still be together if not? But I think now after being quite this rude to him, I'd best go and make him a cup of tea myself I was in the cinema watching this for the first time with my brother next to me when he nudged me and looked at me, his face lit up with excitement and said "oooh it's Eric Sykes" I think if he signed and people in the UK outside the trading card world got wind of it - well... it would be out of any of our price ranges

So, what would be the opening bid on this auction? Or, would you do a BIN, Roz? I hate to admit it, but until GOF, I'd never heard of Eric Sykes . It amazes me that his autograph would be so sought-after. I'm not saying anything bad about the actor, just that he isn't very well known on this side of the pond.

Whew! I'd been sitting here wondering if I was the only person who didn't know this Eric Sykes. I feel sooo much better now

It's just like the POAU set, when a lot of people went crazy over the Dawn French auto. Most people in the US had never heard of her.

Don't get me wrong, I love Dawn French, but she's a current star, Eris Sykes is a legend. It's like the difference between Orlando Bloom and Sean Connery, hmm no, more than that, Connery isn't quite there. It's hard to explain but I'm sure you get the gist of it. A lot of Sykes' stuff was on TV and actually I'm a bit young myself to know his best stuff, but that's why you haven't heard of him

I was really lucky and went to see one of the Sykes shows being filmed when I was a little girl. Of course then the highlight for me was Hattie but looking back I am so pleased I saw him in the flesh.
I think it is quite funny how many of the HP stars we in the UK consider major players but our US Shackers have hardly heard of - we had this discussion on another topic about Julie Christie. The HP films really are a who's who of every British acting legend. I was surprised Dawn French isn't that well known in America. Have you heard of Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous)? They are one of the UK's leading comedy partnerships.
But Jules you have made me really sad - do you really think Eric needs the money? That would be just so awful :'(

I used to watch Absolutely Fabulous and knew Jennifer Saunders from that. But there was nothing here in the US to make the connection to Dawn French.
