Hi there,
OK, I just opened a PayPal account and due to me be a newbie I have a few questions...
- I have activated it etc etc, but now I am just waiting for it to be verified (as its Canadian based)
Can I still pay for items using my account even though it hasn't been verified yet?
* The account is a Personal account *
** I will having the money coming straight out of my chequing account *
Any help is great..

I can't see the problem in you not using it, before it has not been verified, have you tried to pay for anything yet?
If it says something like the account is limited, then it migt not let you send or recieve cash
Not 100% though

I think when I first opened my Paypal account I could spend up to a total of $500 before I needed to get verified. Certainly in the UK the verification process takes quite a few days.

If I remember correctly, when I opened my account it was "Unconfirmed" to get confirmed, I had to have a "Credit Card" and confirm my bank, but there was no rush to do that. A few weeks ago I have to confirm my info again as my account had more then £4000 through it while it was open But i could use it when i was going through these processes, which took a few mins, but about a week of confirm my bank account |

You might have a problem with some sellers. PayPal's "seller protection" requires that you send to a verified address and many dealers won't send to an unconfirmed address.

When I sell my cards to buyers outside of the US, their address is always listed as unconfirmed. Does this mean that if I send these cards to international buyers, that I'm not covered by the "PayPal Seller Protection" plan?  |

I have set my chequing account up so that I can take money straight out from there.

You should be able to use your account now Chris, you don't need a credit card. When you make your first payment through PayPal, the default payment method is for a money transfer, using a credit card is one of the alternates.
