I believe so yes Chris - so what they are really saying is Universal Product Code Code (when they say UPC code) just as people who talk about "GPS System" also repeat the last word, and indeed people who talk about a LCD Display ROFL!

What do you expect from us? We're AMERICAN after all and repeating ourselves is the norm *lol*

Yes, the UPC from the bottom of the box is what we're after -

Gimli,

i would say there are many.. lucky i am slow in sorting my common cards out ROFL! ROFL! mine are still sitting on the floor in the living room.. my husband is about to murder me..  Evil Evil Evil

Wish the process would be easier, why cant you just go to the rittenhouse web site and log on (as i am sure we are all registered) and then enter the unique (they must be unique or they would not want them i guess) UPC without any postage of the codes to Rittenhouse? does that make sense? this is really all rittenhouse need to improve on with their website because besides this it is extremely well done..

Anyway, i digressed.. my husband is going to kill me.. At least now that i have to send the UPC's in, now i am forced to sort out the commons...  ROFL! ROFL!

Speak soon

Okay, let me fall into CS Rep mode for a second Smiley blech, blech, ahem

Every registered dealer and distributor was notified of this program weeks ago - almost immediately after the product's release they were told to contact all of their customers (distributors as well) and to let them know about the redemption-style program. We also posted a message on our bulletin board on February 23rd where we notified everyone to save the UPC symbols (can't say code cause Roz'll tease me!). So between the emails to every dealer and distributor and the posting on our website almost a month ago, as well as me posting here and on CardTalk and on several other private forums - we really did try to let everyone know.

Having said that, I'm sure not every dealer or distributor notified their clientele, which is why we resorted to forum postings and website notices.

Onto the issue of the Universal Product Code (UPC) - it is not box specific. It is product specific, so that every box of Stargate Season 8 has the same code.
Why do we need the codes? To prove that you have the box.
Why not send you the receipt or Paypal invoice? Because then you could send the receipt and your friend send the code and you'd end up with 2 cards.
Why not sent the Box number? Because our boxes are generally numbered similarly - for example, we've had several 6000 box runs, so your sticker could say 4123/6000 but it came from Bond or Trek, not Stargate.

This is why the UPC symbol is the only thing we can use to prove ownership and entitlement. Sorry!!!

I realize it's not a perfect situation, but we really are trying to do the best we can. And I am the poor slob who'll be in charge of distributing the suckers Smiley So I'm suffering right there along with y'all Smiley Card in loader, loader in envelope, address envelope, ship out card. NEXT, card in loader, loader in envelope, address envelope, ship out, NEXT Smiley

I received my In Motion cards today in the mail and I just want to say that they are very nice  Grin I only had 4 UPC Codes so now I just need to get the final 2 In Motion cards for this set then I will have them all  Grin (That is if they still made 6 cards like they were going to do when they were first announced  Undecided).

I just wanted to say these cards are very nice and I can't wait to see the other 2 I still need  Grin

7 cards, not 6. 6 were originally planned to be in the product, with the 7th for the Rewards catalog, but somehow it didn't seem right to do that, so we're using all 7 for the UPC redemptions.

Glad you got them! That was fast - I only started shipping late last week..

That would explain it Wink Sometimes it's hard to put screen names alongside real names and addresses (not that I really looked at them ) - just entered it into my handy-dandy label printer Smiley

Congratulations on your card  Grin I also never thought I would own one of these cards but thanks to tom I was able to get one for a good price  Grin I have to say that it is the most prized card in my Stargate collection. All I want now is a David Hewlett card for my Atlantis set and I will really be happy  Grin Grin
