In one of her frequent readings of the Daily Prophet, Herminone just happens to mention an Octavius Pepper who, apparently, is missing - and also a 9 year old boy who tried to murder his grandparents.

Do you think these people will be significant?

Jo rarely makes irrelevent references - Mark Evans being an exception.

I think, perhaps, we might recognised the names of the grandparents (any ideas?) and Mr Pepper (Sgt?) will reappear at some point. Undecided

It might also be wise to keep any eye out for the Montgomery girls whose brother was killed by a vampire (likely to be F Greyback).  Perhaps he could be the 'nine year old' above.

THIS PLOT IS THICKER THAN POLYJUICE POTION!!

I am betting a lot of this information was just background to show how bad it is getting.  I really must read it again though just to be sure  Wink
I reckon if they were connected with anyone in the school Hermione would have said, like with Madam Bones

Was this in the Prophet as well?  If it was a vampire attack it couldn't have been Greyback because he is a werewolf.

As I said I really must have another read  Grin

True - it couldn't. Didn't Slughorn entertain a vampire at one of his parties?

Incidentally, I learned the other day that Fenrir was a Viking mythological creature - a wolf, naturally.

One of the guests at Slughorn's Christmas party was the vampire Sanguini (sanguin- means blood).  He was edging over to a group of girls with a hungry look in his eyes until the writer of his biography pulled him back. Smiley
