Hi

Amazon have ALREADY got it in their system:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0261103830/theyakshack-21

(not on their American one yet but we might be better seeing if he comes to a bookshop near us).

and have it down for a September 2005 release.

They say:

"A sumptuous large-format hardback containing sketches and paintings from the illustrated Lord of the Rings. In this large-format hardback Alan Lee, production designer on The Lord of the Rings Movie trilogy, discusses his approach to painting the pictures in the authorized illustrated edition of The Lord of the Rings. The book contains over 100 of his sketches and rejected pieces to show how the project progressed from concept to finished art. The book also contains 25 colour paintings reproduced in full-page glory. The Lord of the Rings Portfolio provides a fascinating background and will be of interest to many of the 100,000 people who have bought the illustrated Lord of the Rings as well as for budding artists and illustrators interested in how to approach book illustration"

Sounds like a treat.

Alan Lee mentioned it to (Goofy) Jas when they met. It sounded like he planned to do another US&UK book tour with it - so there's no excuses... get down to your local bookshops and petition for them to have Alan Lee visit Smiley
