I just got the new Movie Magic magazine which has a ton of information about "Harry Potter" plus a ton of info about "CCF".

According to the magazine the movie will be released July 15, 2005  Grin

Some of the fun facts of the new film are:

1. Charlie Bucket's mom played by Helen Bonham Carter will have a bigger role in this film then she did in the original.

2. The only songs in this new version will be sung only by the Oompa Loompa's

3. A camara lens worth over half million dollars was destroyed when it fell in the choclate river doring filming

4. Maroon 5 Grin will be singing "Pure Imagination" for the film's soundtrack

5. And finally some secondary roles have been switched. Mike TeeVee will be accompanied by his father instead of his mother in this version,  Augustus will have his dad instead of his mom and Violet will have her mom instead of her dad...confusing isn't it  Wink

I will definately see the movie, but NOT take my 5 year old.  Johnny Depp looks like a FREAK!  I may end up with nightmares after seeing him.

I think that's what makes me want to see it even more. If it was just like the classic, then I probably wouldn't go see it because I could just watch it any old time. Don't get me wrong ... I love the classic, but I can't wait to see what Tim Burton does with it!

Yeah granted changing the gender of a parent is quite a big difference, but I wonder why it was done. I'm sure there's a reason! Sadly, I haven't read the book. I've been up to my knees in school work and other books that I kept pushing it off ... yeah, I didn't read it when I was a child. I'm probably traumatized because of that Wink

I cannot wait to see this movie.
Ever since I heard that it was Tim Burton directing and Johnny Depp staring. And Freddie Highmore (if i have the name right) was wonderful in Finding Neverland and should be perfect.
And that trailer is awesome  Grin

Of course it's going to be totally bizarre and weird--I'd be disappointed if it wasn't. I love the original but see no reason why not to embrace this new one.

Now, if only we get it here in New Zeland in the near future (not this November/December release date rumour)...

I have to say I'm a little worried about how weird the trailer makes it look... it was never a weird story... just pure fantasy! I guess we'll know come July...

I thought Willy Wonka was a bit scary in the first movie (I was only 7 or 8 when I saw it) when he went all angry at Charlie at the end of the movie. I can't wait to see how Johnny Depp attempts to pull it off! Cheesy

Yeah he did get a bit steamed but at the end of the day... Charlie DID steal Fizzy Lifting Drink! It's not like he was innocent Wink
