I have been keeping up with what is happening on the forum

I have to say i think artbox has been listening to you already if the info we are getting is true

500 cases went quickly for the first set
and the reduction in print run is a positive set forward

all i am offering is a service to anyone who feels they want any of this product if you feel you want to be causious (i know i am being) I for one understand the reasons and I also lost a good deal of money on the update. Take it or leave it the offer is on the table for anyone who is interested.

Well to be honest with you Chris we all need to think carefully!

We need to think carefully about what we want - are we just taking Cards Inc's word for it there will be 750 cases? Should I ask around and see if anyone else has heard this from Mike?

How popular is this set going to be? I think 750 cases may still be a reasonable amount because I know some pretty dedicated fans of the other sets who will miss over this one and go straight for Goblet because

a) This is "Sorcerers" which is going to drive anyone outside the US insane

b) It's too close to previous sets for them financially- and it's a "prequel set".

I really do think we need the "750" figure confirmed by another source before you pre-order...

I do think the appeal for this set will all depend on what autos and costume / props are in there and the number of each we must also bare in mind most of us are strapped for cash and can't afford any cards at the moment but if we do want some and leave it too late we may regret that but also we may regret buying it unless we get some info before release. the problem will be that if businesses don't get pre orders will they stock it at all HuhHuh

It is a difficult dicision one which i am sure we should and will debate till it is released

we definately need confirmation on the details for this one

The other important thing is for those who DO want to buy not to miss out on chances to preorder whilst we are mulling it over... but we're not going to throw our money in blindly this time - that's for sure

oh geez Olly that is a big statement from you  Shocked What brought this on? Is it an upset because of the HP Update set?

I honestly think the release of the earlier sets is a misjudged and greedy attempt to milk the Potter franchise as much as possible. Artbox is shooting themselves in the foot with this idea, especially if they are going to have the license to produce the material for the last 4 movies. They are going to run out of ideas fast as they attempt to get as much product as possible on the market. 750 cases? Pffft - I'll believe it when they put it out in their press release Roll Eyes

After the debacle of the POA update set where almost everyone (dealers and collectors) lost substantial amounts of money, I think preordering would be highly risky until
1. Artbox releases more information
2. You can get a refund for your preorder money

I understand why you want to get in fast Gimli, but do you really want to risk a repeat of PoA update? I'd advise against the preorder. Personally, I am going to hold off until GoF, unless Artbox improves its information service. While not as extreme as Olly (and I know he has good reason to be) I advise caution for anyone ordering this set.

Maybe I'm misreading this, but what is Gimli risking by taking other people's pre-orders?  I've already placed a very small order with a US dealer, because I enjoy collecting the cards and the pre-order helps when figuring out my budget for the next couple of months.  If some people in the UK feel the same way, they might as well place their orders with Gimli.

Its not me preordering with Chris I am worried about, but Chris himself pre-ordering. If he orders a whole lot in and it ends up bombing on the secondary market like PoA update, he will be left with a pile of cases that he can't shift Undecided

I thought that might be your point. Smiley I'm sure than anyone who ordered a large number of update cases would be a bit more cautious with their personal pre-orders for any subsequent Artbox releases.

At least this is true for me, even though I buy on a much smaller scale.  I bought five update boxes, but I'm only pre-ordering one SS box (which I might up to two if we get more info).

I am looking at pre ordering but i am not sure how much i will get I will buy some of this product but more for me than to sell to be honest. All I will be doing is adding on any pre orders I get to my small order. But i won't be doing any ordering until I get some more info
