A friend of mine showed me some cards that he got from his father. They featured on one side the Front Page of a newspaper and the headline. Here are a couple of them.
The Titanic Sinks
St. Valentine's Day Massacre

On the back was a little "news report" of the event.
He said they were sold in gum packages and were from 1955 0r so.

Anyone know anything about these??
They were in color and really well done, not to mention interesting.

Well, I really didn't expect any of US young'uns to know anything about these cards. Anyone who collected them would have be around 60 today, I suppose.
