hey,
i was wondering if anyone know how the card companies got the costumes for the costume cards such as rittenhouse ,artbox etc... are they given them for free by the studio or do they pay and how much do the actors get for a sig or does it all depend on who they are .(figwit fetting the same as gandalf.lol)
thanks,
S

I imagine no one too much in the know will want to answer that
but as for props - well they have to pay an awful lot for the license and I presume in return they get some degree of co-operation from the film in obtaining props.
I think the biggest problem is getting the license

eBay. Private Auction Houses, some cooperation from the studios - a combination of ways. I do love it when my husband is on eBay spending the companies money though

Really?
How do you know if the item is genuine? Every time I see an auction for a movie costume or prop, I always wonder if it's a fake. You'd think the studios would be more cooperative.

A lot of costumes and props are given away to charities to auction and are athenticated by the studio. I would guess this is how they aquire them which i think is great cos not only do we get our great cards but the charitys get to sell their item at great prices I am sure.

ya i would worry about how they know if its real though take the ST costumes for example how many of the same costumes were made? how do they know it was actually worn by the actor? having saig that i'm sure if rittenhouse or sany major card producers put their name to it i'm sure they have done reserch and know

I knew I shouldn't have said anything
All of the costumes we purchase are authentic, are provided by the studios for auction and are 100% legitimate. We're not buying from cousinsam0001@hotmail or whatever, these are legitimate auction houses like Christies and such.
Note to self: Keep big mouth shut.

Oh no! I wasn't trying to imply that the costumes weren't legitimate. I just wondered how you could confirm it. Certainly, if you're getting them from Christies and other legitimate sources, then you know for sure that they are authentic.
