Yep although fortunately it wasn't I being kicked - we were driving along the road, obviously a tourist had stopped by the horses and staying in his car hooted at them - (we heard that as we were getting towards the scene).
That is never a good way to approach an animal who is just standing in the middle of the road for no reason.
Anyway he got out and ran at "the beast" who promptly turned around and kicked him - he flew up and landed on his car smashing the windshield (very movie-esque)!
Anyway I called the ambulance, I know full well the animal will have been put down but if you ask me it was the driver who should have been put down. I approach horses on the road the whole time, you slow down, get out of the car, clap and get them in a firm voice to "get" and "c'mon". They quietly and slowly move off (nothing in their lives is about rushing
).
There are 2 things they don't like - loud noises (hooting horns) and things running at them.... this chap had combined both so the horse's reaction was hardly surprising.
