*senses Ed is as outraged on this as I was when watching "the day after tomorrow" and the supercooled air which was coming down from the troposphere so fast it didn't warm up to ambient temperature... but somehow the heroes were able to outrun it*

Grrrrrrrrrrr!

You nailed that one on the head Roz!!  Maybe you could outrun that super cooled air if you had jets on your feet or were the Superhero "The Flash" but us normal humans would have been frozen solid!!

Well the new episode shown on Wednesday has left me with more questions now!!  For those of you who have seen it you will know what I mean - Ethan!!

Why can't Claire remember anything?

We need Gandalf on this case - remember his cool saying as he was leaving Frodo in Bilbo's house in "The Fellowship" - "There are questions, questions that need answering"!!  I'll second the motion on that one!   Smiley

argh - don't you just want to throttle the stupid hobbit for killing Ethan.

So the big questions are:

Was Ethan alone ? (I don't think so), and where did Ethan come from? Was he in the Frenchwoman's party do you think? Island born's would have an accent even if they did speak English right?? And he fitted in fine.

Why doesn't Claire remember a thing?

What is it that Boone and Lock found (that underground bunker thing... and frankly the way they were banging on and around it the people hiding in there would have come out and hit them by now Wink)

Do we 100% trust Locke... I have done for a while but there's something in his eye... and he did come face to face with something in the first (or early) episodes that was never explained?

Why haven't we had a background story for Hurley yet? We've had 2 for a lot of people now - Jack, Kate, Charlie etc... are they assuming we aren't interested because he's fat or something? Cos he's my fav character and I really want to know more about him. Have we had an episode on everyone now then??

WHAT IS IT IN THE JUNGLE??

Anything else?

Well Roz I think you hit them all!!   Smiley  I did not want to say too much in case one of our Forum members did not see the most recent episode.

I am annoyed by the fact that the group had weapons to protect themselves yet through stupid actions and thoughts thought best not to distribute and use them against whatever animal and human threats were on the island until one of their party is murdered by Ethan.  Let's not even go into how many times now the group has been attacked/terrorized by animals!

Another case of to little too late especially for that unfortunate soul who was killed! I think the writers need a reality check - the group is in a survival situation in more ways than one!!

Let's see.  Here are my opinions:

argh - don't you just want to throttle the stupid hobbit for killing Ethan.

Was Ethan alone ?

No.  I remember seeing in a scene to come on TV once, that Charlie (I think) is saying "It's not Claire THEY'RE after, its her baby!".  This leads me to believe this takes place in a future episode, where we know there are more people.

Quote
Was he in the Frenchwoman's party do you think?

I still wonder if there even is a French woman.  Maybe it was a hullicantion.  This will be proved wrong once more people see her.

Brainwashed?

Quote

Don't you love how they just seem to leave you haging on things that happened, yet we still have no clue what it is?

Quote
Do we 100% trust Locke...

I am still not sure of this one.

Quote

Maybe he wasn't on the plane Shocked But, really, I was wondering the same thing!  I want to see his story too!!!!

I hope I covered it.  Wow, what an episode.  How many shows are left this season?

Soooo.... Sawyer bumped into Jack's Dad? Hmm it seems a bit coincidental. What are the chances?

I'm really itching to see a bio on hurley now - we seem to keep revisiting characters we've seen before! Still... it's just as gripping as it ever was. Roll on next Wednesday!

Once Sawyer realized that he did indeed talk with Jack's Father in the bar I was rather disappointed that he did not tell Jack of his conversation with him and especially what Jack's Father said about Jack.

I think it would have made Sawyer a more interesting character had the writers incorporated that.  Now we learn that Sawyer was duped into thinking he was killing his tormentor from his youth when in fact he killed a person who was late in making repayment on a loan to his former "Business Partner"!!

I agree that the golf course is a nice touch!   Smiley

Mark or Roz:

Is "Lost" being broadcast in England yet or are you still watching it from the Internet?

Unfortunately still watching on the 'net. Although if it does ever make it to these shores on Terrestrial TV it'll be so far behind that I guess we'll still end up watching it on the 'net anyway! Ah well, such is life...

Well last night's episode was another with twists and turns.  Sun's background is very dark indeed.   Looks like his Father-In-Law is a real winner there!   Tongue   I think I saw an interesting tidbit when Sun visited the Government Minister in his home for the first time.  I taped Lost so I am going to watch it again to see if I am right.  I think I saw on the TV a shot of Hurley in a news story that the Government Minister and his daughter were watching!  If that is so then we should see an interesting background story on Hurley hopefully soon!   Smiley

I am disappointed that little Walt let Sun get the snot beat out of him in front of everyone as they thought he burned the boat.  It is cool how Locke seems to have a handle on everyone and knows the right things to say but I would have been more impressed if Walt owned up for his actions in front of everyone.

What do you all think of the relationship developing between Sayeed (is that the correct spelling?) and she who will not be named?   Smiley

The previews for next weeks show look intense as the Survivors come into armed contact with "The Others" on the island!   Shocked

I am so glad you said that because it happened so fast I thought i was seeing things.  I do think it was Hurley on the TV without a doubt.

What a great episode.

I loved the faces on everyone when Sun spoke English, and Hurley's comment "Didn't see that coming".

I also loved the comic relief at the end with the CD walkman.  And did you notice the set up with Claire pregnant in the back and Hurley close up, how they were sitting the same and both looked pregnant!!  It was so funny.

Have'nt chimed in on this thread yet but IMO Lost is the best show on US TV -- hands down !!

Great storyline , terrific casting and a wonderful way of telling a story that keeps you off-balance , interested and waiting to see what's next ....

I can't wait every week to see it and when it comes to a DVD collection I'm buying it for sure ....

and yes in last nights episode I also saw Hurley on the TV in the background ---  another interesting plot line looks to be on the way ...

Great show and so, so much better than most of the drivel that's currently on US networks .....

Ed you have sharp eyes indeed. I wouldn't for a second hesitate in climbing into a plane you were piloting.

That's awesome I really have my fingers crossed that you are right there.

I am disappointed that little Walt let Sun get the snot beat out of him

Eh?

What's snot mean in Yank speak? And whilst we are on that - what does chum mean too as it doesn't seem to mean "friend" like it does in English.

oooh... I mean Britspeak Tongue

I think it's nice that Sayid and Shannon might get together, I see him as a strong enough character not to be led by her wiley ways, and her wealthy background means nothing here, so I think it could possibly turn out well... but i do worry a bit about Sayid

And did you notice the set up with Claire pregnant in the back and Hurley close up, how they were sitting the same and both looked pregnant!!  It was so funny.

Oi woch wot u r saying 'bout me fav character!

P.S. Poor Hurley now his batteries have died on his CD walkman, I know you can get solar panelled rechargers for batteries for that kind of equipment... it's a shame there wasn't one on board in someone's packaging. I know if I was going to somewhere like Oz for a long holiday in such a sunny place I'd take one to save having to get my power plugs to fit Aussie sockets.

ARGH

P.P.S

Have'nt chimed in on this thread yet but IMO Lost is the best show on US TV -- hands down !!

The more chiming the Merrier - then it's not just a few of us mad fans going round in circles on our own Cheesy LOST is awesome - excellent IMHO

Well I did review the tape and it was Hurley on the TV!!   Smiley  Good catch as well rns and hockeyron!!   Smiley

I seem to have named the Korean woman instead of her husband in my post but you all know what I was talking about.

Roz the term 'beat the snot out of someone" means to physically punch and injure a person in a fight.  The word "chum" has a duel meaning - it means friend as you use it but it also has a negative meaning as I think in the way Sawyer uses it when he derides someone and calls them "chum" meaning they are someone who he does not like or respect.

The scene at the end with Hurley on the beach listening to his Walkman with Claire and Charlie in the background was very cool especially when his batteries died out.  Does anyone know who was singing on the CD Hurley was listening to or what group it was?  I liked the music!   Smiley

What do you all think of next week's previews showing Hurley being held at gun point?  Is that the French woman or someone else?

Watching on the internet means we don't get to see the previews for next week - all the ads and titles are cut out. However it DOES mean I can do this:

for all the non-believers out there Smiley

And yes Ed I think the Korean guy's name is Jin Wink

Well we finally got to see Hurley's story in last night's episode!!   Smiley  And what a story it is!!   Cool  With the info learned from last night's show things are starting to fall into place and make much more sense!   Smiley  I am facinated by "the numbers" and can't wait to see how all this plays out!!   Smiley

Unfortunately next week's episode is another repeat - the one where Ethan kidnaps Claire and hangs Charlie out to dry!

Really? After seeing that? Wouldn't you be worried the same would happen to you? If it did you'd never forgive yourself!

Really great episode though, I thoroughly enjoyed that. Really freaky with the numbers - it has to be a curse otherwise it's too great of a coincidence. But... curses? Really? I don't know. I want answers!
